    I have been golfing for more than 60 years and I think Aimee does a better job of explaining the swing than anyone I have seen.

    One more addition, you command of the English language is amazing. Well spoken, well dressed, and well informed.
    Thank you for being among the best teachers of the game I have ever seen.

    Aimee, I'd taken a few lessons and played numerous rounds of 9 before I found your channel. I've watched parts 1-4 of the beginner series so far. What a difference in my ball contact. I love to practice now. I'm never far from my 7 iron in case I decide to watch a new video (or rewatch one I've seen). Now I'm an Aimee Cho believer! Can't wait for my next round.

    So, I'm not a beginner, but I want to thank you for your "Hit the Driver with you Abs Video". I use a "Hockey Slap Shot" as my practice swing, and then, I execute my real swing with my Abs. Formerly, I used hip drive, shoulder turn, & noodle arms to power my swing. Now, as you recommended, I use my Abs. It was easy & everything works together.
    In this session, I K-lobbered the ball & I hit it straight as long as my shoulders turned through. I'm now hitting every club twenty to thirty yards longer. My driver is taking off like a baseball "frozen rope". Your tip made me straight, consistent, & long. You are for real. Thank you, Amy.

    I've been trying to play golf for 5 years and getting very frustrated. Paid for many lessons and I do fine in the lesson but then on my own at the range or on the course, I have a hard time hitting the ball. Watched your first 3 beginner lessons online then went into my backyard and practiced with the pine cones! WOW!! You really helped me...I hit most of them properly! You broke the swing down into basic steps that made so much sense. You are currently my golf hero. Thank you thank you thank you

    I have been trying to learn golf seriously for over a year. Went to professional lessons and watched other videos. But, my swings were inconsistent. I on my own found the "small swing" as a way to have a good foundation without great loss of distance (I think because it is easy then to hit the sweet spot). I then found this video by Aimee. I am very impressed and immediately subscribed. I wish other videos and my instructor started with that, things may have been easier. Great work Aimee.

    So many things I have forgotten in my swing (Tick Tock) is one. Amazing how for a ball will fly with that 1/2 swing. Jim Flick (in my opinion), one of the best teachers of the game, used that motion to start some of his sessions.
    You, are one of the BEST of the BEST keeping the game simply simple. Just keep on being SIMPLE. Your students (all of us followers) will never be disappointed, and our game will keep improving.

    Aimee is a natural teacher! She understands what you need to know when you are learning to golf. This beginner series is the BEST by far! I have been golfing for a while (19 HCI), but nobody taught me the things to know like this series. This series is great for beginner and middle handicap index if you want to learn the swing correctly. Thank you Aimee!

    The step by step demos of all your lessons is by far the best Aimee. It sure felt odd at first but after four weeks going through the actions step by step its starting to feel better. I put it into action at my first interclub game last weekend and with mixed results and a loss but It surely resulted in my first interclub success yesterday. At 65 hitting the ball straighter and not a single shank. I drove straight with a slight draw in the end and proud to boom one down 200mtrs, Of course I made a few errors but I recognize what they were. I missed 3 birdie chances and a few par chances. I am working on your putting drills for next weeks interclub and that drill is top shelf stuff as are your lessons. Thank You

    I am beginning to learn golf by myself and I tried to look for some instructions in the internet to see if the sport suits me. I discovered that there are hundreds of coordination that I need to do in hitting a ball. Golf with Aimee has provided an effective and easier way to learn the swing movement. She relates it to other important things to do, prerequisites and all, in the swing movement and connection with other body parts. I’ve learned a lot from her instructions. Thank you Aimee, you’re so amazing!

  • @OtterLakeFlutes

    Thanks Aimee. My other instructor says the opposite so I'll have to try yours and see what happens. He says avoid all the body motions and their variables at first and add them later for power, and to start with baby swings without worrying how far the ball goes. I am interested in your method as I am aging and can get tendinitis, so my body could help take over that stress. No harm in trying a bit of both I guess, as long as I don't form bad habits? Thanks again.

    • @AmoebaCulture
      @AmoebaCulture 3 роки тому

      I actually agree with your instructor. I think swinging just with the arms can produce fairly consistent results. People who learn to use their body first often can't time the difference between their arms and bodies - they are clearly two separate things. But I guess all roads lead to Rome?

    I’m watching your series and the “armpit Y” is so helpful. For the downswing, a lot of emphasis has been placed on me keeping my elbow bent at my hip, so I had focused a lot on this, which has caused me to push my left hip further to try to accommodate the swing. Of course, this looks funky, is painful, and isn’t helpful for ball contact, but because the advice I got was elbow-focused, I kept following it.

      tee it up on your front foot and swing up, it is different than an iron swing, you want to catch the ball on the up swing. Also maybe tee it up higher.

    Aimee I'm struggling with the "PUSH through" as I'm using my hands and arms on all swings which develops a monster hip slide. So I've gone back to using ONLY using my abs/obliques to rotate and just use the hands and arms to hold and manoeuvre the club even on the small swings you show here and post my left leg and hip to stop sliding. Is this wrong?.

    When i tried following your lesson, i shanked some. What is the correct movement of hands and arms when i actuallt hit the balls?

    • @saaidanah980004
      @saaidanah980004 4 роки тому

      I think when using body motion technique, in the beginning sometimes the hands are too passive because we think the arms & body are the main source of movement when actually body, arms & hinging/unhinging of hands move in unison during entire swing; make sure the hands hinge (almost inverted L shape ) a bit during backswing while moving back with body & arms, hold the angle during downswing while moving the arms & body, only release/unhinge the hands from its cocking position when the club start to hit the ball and finish up with left arm & club in a straight line. Another possible reason is that thinking to maximize power from the body we may tend to set up with the ball too far away from the body (arms too stretch out) which can lead to shank.

  • @松田もしくろす
    @松田もしくろす 5 років тому

    So it sounds like at this stage, I don’t need to worry about much else besides making good contact with the sweet spot. I also am guessing that lag is something that will occur with the half swing or full swing and again I don’t need to worry about that. Likewise opening or closing of the face is no big deal at this point, although I suppose if I miss the sweet spot and hit a toe shot the club may rotate in my hands by accident, yet still this is OK.

    • @jeromemester4627
      @jeromemester4627 5 років тому

      松田もしくろす sorry but you’ve missed the point of the lesson. Micro swings begin to give you muscle memory on the right way to swing. If you listen to Aimee and practice the lessons one by one you will become a much better golfer and you’ll learn how to turn, keep your club in alignment and make solid contact on the sweet spot from the beginning and you will not have to adjust your swing and club face to make solid contact. Keep an open mind my friend. There are no shortcuts in golf and it’s easier to learn correctly the first time than to have to relearn something from bad habits. Perfect practice makes perfect

    More back to basics? Not really Aimee this is super advanced. Here we find hands parallel to ground before and after the BABY swing, ahead of the ball, perfect divot, perfect chip shot AND ball compression technique. But the golf student having got this far ALWAYS wants to go faster than teacher's lesson - and as you rightly say take bigger swings, possibly with a good degree of success BUT the student in her/his haste has missed the biggest lesson of all - the correct rotation and sequencing which is being taught here in reality but not in words. My take after over 50 years is tell and show students after they have got grip, stance, ball positioning and alignment, this what WILL happen if they don't do the small steps and ingrain this into their swing DNA BEFORE rushing to full swings The early extension, and not rotating and trapping the ball which is what is being done here but not mentioned. I know it's a lot for students to take in BUT if they are serious have a 3 hour lesson to follow the grip, stance, alignment /positioning to explain the pitfalls of NOT doing the small steps properly We've all seen "Karate Kid" and wipe - on wipe off. He is never told why he is doing it in the beginning, only after 1000 repetitions. Perhaps that is why his is never told - yawn and boring BUT fundamental as is keeping your butt on the chair through rotation. Genius Aimee Tx.
