ak operator I knew about Top Fuel dragsters. Nonetheless, I am from Italy (and UK). Very different car cultures. Drag racing and huge horsepower are not so common here. Trust me, a 0-120 mph in 8 seconds is enough to be the fastest guy in town (in most of the towns lol)

Yeah they are. Cars aren’t supposed to go fast enough to lift a Boeing 747 off of the tarmac if it had wings haha. You can expect NHRA funny cars to trap these times but a front engine “stock” format car on radials is just nuts. Fucking scary if you ask me.

That’s why you see so many of these cars taking off and flying several hundred feet through the air when they lose control. They’re running speeds of Top Alcohol cars without any of the downforce. It’s a recipe for disaster.

5 years ago! That mustang 🐎 left dead center, level and straight as an Arrow! The rear window reveals extreme frame tech engineering! Under the hood, Proline, twin turbos w immaculate engineering build. A professional race team setting the standard. Had no idea drag radials provide such performance to punch 👊 250 MPH under 6's. Great track and area. As watching all things drag Racing, Maryland NE has some of the nations fastest and quickest team's.

depends the entire setup ? or just the engine alone? Well the engine cost around 60-70k, the turbo kit from proline is another 30k+ so basically 100k
or more depending on the turbo you're getting it varies from 100k and up.

GM first v8 1915, Ford 1932 and Ford still trying to catch up. Chevy engines and transmissions for the win baby johnny Crash. lol
He is running a Proline 481X which is made by AJE and based off an old NASCAR Dodge Hemi - so neither Ford NOR Chevy. LS engines can keep up until the 1/8 MAYBE, but then big block goes BYE BYE. Big Block heads just flow so much at high RPM, small block heads at high horsepower is just choking the shit out of modern engines.
@@kennethfeld6639 First I never said the car in the video had a LS! Ya a Proline (Hemi) might be faster for 5 seconds but a LS can run 300mph all day long. Ask Hennessey or SSC both run a LS7. Not a HEMI OR PROLINE! In the list of the top 10 fastest cars, two are LS7 powered and none are Ford or Dodge powered! Second my statement still stands there are more LS Fords at the track than Ford powered and the LS powered are faster! Oh and there are big bock LS engines. Here is a tiny 326 that has made alot of HEMI look GAY!

@@mewrongway You have short term memory loss - you clearly said it had a "GM Based Engine" and it clearly doesn't as the 481X is a DODGE based engine. When Hennesey or whomever comes to the track and goes faster than 5.92 then we can talk, until then those little LS beans need to stay home.

Hay relax its ok to be jealous. The Proline is GM based!! No we can never talk because you will go 5.92 for 5.92 seconds and Hennessey and SSC will go 5.92 all day and you will be in the shop dumping another 20K into the bottom of that 481X lol That's why smart guys like Hennessey, Larry Caplin, Jarod Shelby use LS power. Twice the reliability for far far less money! Until them HEMI PEAS can hang together more than a season better stay out of the way.
The 481X, meanwhile, is a modern-day hybrid of the Chrysler Hemi and the big-block Chevrolet - the bottom carrying a similar pattern to the Hemi, and the top based on the BBC, but with symmetrical ports. So you see ANYTHING fast has GM behind it in one way or another!! Oh and that Powerglide is GM too!
