- There is no doubt the Fox Mustang is one of the most iconic vehicles in outlaw and street-legal drag racing from its favorable suspension configuration to its natural lightweight. Originally built by Racecraft, Peter Volpe now owns the legendary Mustang featured in this video and it has a full slate of Limited Drag Radial action on tap in 2021.
Looking into the iconic Mustang’s past, this car is one of the original Radial vs. the World entries and it is credited with the first 5-second run in the ¼-mile on a set of Mickey Thompson 315 drag radials. The Fox was also the first to eclipse the 3-second barrier on a pair of 275 drag radial tires. It also has the NMCA Radial Wars national championship attached to its pedigree. Today, it sits in similar trim and continues to be powered by the reliable Pro Line Racing 481X Stage IV billet engine. Volpe recently had the setup reconfigured for Limited Drag Radial, which requires a maximum of two 88mm turbochargers, down from the 102mm twin turbos it previously utilized. FuelTech bolted the Mustang to its in-house Mainline Hub Dyno to get the new combination sorted out before they put the car on track.
As the dyno slowed down, the computer revealed 3,669 WHP and what makes this combination special is the use of FuelTech’s newest product line, the FT Injector. Boasting two size, the FT Injectors are offered in 520 lb/hr and 720 lb/hr configurations-both ratings are measured at 90 psi of base fuel pressure. The fuel injectors can run as low as 30 psi of base fuel pressure, which adjusts the flow rating to 301 lb/hr and 422 lb/hr, respectively. Pushing the fuel pressure to 130 psi changes the flow rates to 614 lb/hr and 860 lb/hr. The FT Injectors are compatible with any fuel, are low impedance design which requires the use of the 8A/2A injector driver, operating voltage range is 12V to 24V, and have a 1.5 Ohm coil resistance.
The rest of the car features a complete line of FuelTech products, as expected, with the FT600 engine management system being the main focus. The FT600 and the other PowerFT ECUs-FT550, FT550LITE, and FT450-are all-inclusive systems that offer sequential injection and ignition, O2 Closed Loop, data logger, delay box, Boost Controller, Nitrous Controller, and so much more. As you will see in the video, the FT600, FT550, and FT450 have a customizable digital display for the driver and the anti-glare TFT touchscreen offers the ability to make adjustments without hooking up a PC computer. Naturally, this iconic Fox Mustang also runs an assortment of FuelTech ignition components from the FTSPARK to its CDI Racing coils, which was all installed by RK Racecraft/Homier Fabrications.
From modernizing an iconic and barrier breaking Fox Mustang to powering grassroots motorsports, continued product development combined with incredible technology is why you’re seeing #FuelTechEverywhere

I was there that night at SpeedWorld when Kevin Fiscus ran that first 5 on accident lol. It was awesome to see that in person.
The foxbody is my favorite chassis ☝️
Pnut
Ive had one since I was 15.... And I'll be 47 soon. Best car EVER..
That doesn’t have a fox body chassis in it
Raining 5s is back! I’ll never forget being in awe of the way this car back halfed in the quarter mile once the power ramped in. Glad to see it back in LDR
I remember following the build at Racecraft thinking, they'll never finish this car. Not only did they finish it but it set the drag racing world on fire. Thirty-seven hundred horsepower!
I have a lightly modified 92 LX 5.0 notchback I’ve gotten into trouble lots of times on the road couldn’t imagine 3600 hp‘s would get me to the moon 🌝
They look bad ass! I bought one new in april of 94! I found a 93 GT left over! Red with 5 speed cloth interior & no sunroof! I got so lucky! Car weighed 2900lbs without the spare in the trunk which i never put it in once i took it out. I just turned 18 by 22 it had gasket matched ported & polished edelbrock heads. I paid like 2500 bucks for them for the extra work from edelbrock! I ran a Vortech S-Trim & a one off aluminum sheet aluminum intake with all the other goodies! It ran a 10:58@128 & i only got one run in that night cause it was a packed test & tune night at New England Drag Way In Epping New Hampshire. I was happy but it could of went faster still fast for 26 yrs ago & the first an only run after i put everything together. Good times! But i still have a quick car i have a daily 600H.P. 135i with 43 thousand original miles.....👍🏁
@Frank Bonazza III Yeah my bottom end was bone stock….👍🏻🏁
@Frank Bonazza III I was running 17 PSI out of a Vortech S-Trim.
Damn..... Bad ass Fox body notch..... Damn
Very good 👌I have a fox body 89. Good day.👍

Feckin Awesome
26👍's up fuel tank thanks again for taking us all along with youfor the info commercial on what you could do to your car to make it faster
Rvw has turned to pro mod!!! Dont let them take over LDR or Pro275!!!
Eventually those promods we are seeing today in RVW will get dated and not competitive anymore, so they gonna be sold to guys running in the pro275. The progress is unstoppable.
Their not. It is cool to see um throw a lil tire on a pro mod an manage the power
Pro 275 is basically rvw on 275s!! every badass big small tire race classes are heading the same way!
Savage
is this a back half car?
LDR CLASS KILLER
That was josh klugger car
I had a 92' cherry red foxbody that never lost on the street got ran down twice on the freeway by a Impala ss and the f body Camaro SS on the top end but on tha street no car could fuck with me
It's a monst
5:08 - Steve Petty in the house.
Is fuel-tech gonna address the lawsuit against them??
Educate me, lawsuit for?
@@Jim-qc6gu Fuel-Tech has been sued by Billet Atomizer for copying their big injectors. If you didn't know FT just came out with a new billet atomizer.
Oh my god is that car tasty.
I have 5 of those coupes 1500 hp stock block
Sure I have 6 of them with 2000 HP and I drill holes in my stock block for lightness.
What part of that chassis is stock? Dont look like much is? But yes good base line car for drag racing.
Fuel tech is the best Fuel injection system for any car or truck and you can run it on a sbf or sbc love Fuel tech
How can I get fuel tech to sponsor me?
I have a 91 gt it’s my 6th fox I’ve owned always looking for a nice 79 4 eye notch.
I have a 91' as well...got it in October of 1991 lol...love that car still.
@@robertelmo7736 i love mine also . its got a built 416ci supercharged engine only on 10 lbs right now but also on a 125 shot if needed.
How much of that is still mustang? Besides the looks.
I thought this was fletcher Cox’s
Billet Atomizers
I wonder if its the fastest door slammer with no wheelie bars.
I talk to Kevin all the time.
Manny went 3.705 not 3.72
How much it cost to make a car like this?
Who built the chassis?
Racecraft inc
Did i miss the part where you at least start it?
:P

Meu sonho é trabalhar com vocês
Awesome ride but this car is hardly a Foxbody, it's a Proline, Garret, Fueltech, Strange, Weld and a slew of other parts. Looks nothing like my 89 LX.
It's still the chassis. Yes it looks different a little but that's the chassis.
The 5.98 clip looked like 1320s clip, don't see any creds to Kyle for the footage. Another theft from fuel tech
They clearly left 1320’s logo on the bottom right
Dude open your eyes maybe the credit is right the video everyone knows it's 1320s because um... That's what it says smh
20 LIKE
well I like different n Ian a Chevrolet kinda guy. ...! ;)
.....a stock 5.3 would make way more power
You're telling me an engine engineered in the 90's is going to perform better than an engine designed in the late 50's?!?!?
I can't tell who is joking more or if you're both uneducated. I think you're both joking.
Not liking the look of a fox body?
especially a coupe….. blasphemy!!!!
