SIG recommends grease for the full length rails like on 226. Also zero lube should be on firing pin or in pin channel. Easiest way is not always best way. Especially on something your life could depend on.
Everyone should know that every time you apply clp to metal, you're going to get a black residue whether it's clean or not. CLP pulls carbon and other metals out of the surface you're cleaning. Just because it's black as night, doesn't mean it was dirty. It'll always do that.
I enjoyed the combination of efficiency and easy to follow instructions. Easy to understand and he was not pitching any products or boosting. Thanks for the good info but the Spring and rod weren't addressed.
Personally, I use nitrile gloves. Specifically, a brand named "Venum Steel" heavy-duty, industrial, rip-resistant. They tend to fit my fingers tightly w/ no slack, and you pretty much have to try to get them to rip.
I just field stripped my [brand new] p226 just to look at it, & put it back together. Now the hammer won't strike when I pull the trigger. Any idea what I did wrong? As an aside, now when I look at the empty chamber, there's a pin sticking out I didn't seem to notice before...
Alex, Id love to help, but I'm not a gunsmith. Id suggest tearing it down again and going through the reassembly step by step, just to make sure everything is in there correctly. If you still have issues I'd contact your local gunsmith.
I have personally experienced this. Your hammer spring is most likely not sitting properly. There are numerous videos that show you how to seat that spring properly. (that's the main problem). This could also relate to not having reinstalled certain parts properly after disassembly.
Andrew, CLP is all, cleaner, lubricant and protective. I prefer to clean with it, then use a lubricant only. I like Wilson Combat, Slip 2000, or WeaponShield. Hope it helps. I get good results.
I’ve noticed that in all the p226 cleaning videos no one uses a brass brush through the barrel. Is there a reason for this? In most of my guns I like to run a wet brass brush through the barrel 5 or 6 times first then let it soak for 15 minutes or so before cleaning the rest of the gun.
@@ManoloMani11 Thank you. I was curious aout the same thing. I got my 225 a few months ago and got and used polymer brushes for the first time, but it seems they don't get all the residue out of the grooves, so I have ended up scraping with a polymer pick. Glad I am doing the right thing by not using Brass. Cheers.
It's awesome! Hard to find, especially in the RX model. I reference your video every time I clean my firearm. Do you ever clean the mags? How about the inside of the handle?
500 rounds is nothing. I don’t own a 226 or any of the Sig classic line of pistols but I do own Glock and smith and Wesson in usually let mine go 3,000 rounds before I even think about cleaning and they could probably go 10,000 same with the Sig don’t really need a whole lot of cleaning.

nice video, I just got my 226 and this was really helpful since the manual doesn't really touch on how clean it, only how to break it down.
im a newbie but why wasnt the spring with the rod in the center not cleaned?
Very helpful! Thank you for your clear and simple directions! 🙌

Thanks for tips. How often do you clen it up ? I mean the number of bullets you shoot between two cleanings ?
Thank you very helpful 🙌 good job.

500 rounds to much? Thats 1 trip to the range....
This should be the same as all the p226s right?
How good is the finish on this fde model doing?

Hello, i just purchased a p226 mk25, are you scrubbing the barrel with lubricant or is it solvent?

Brass brush destroys the special coating so people prefer nylon for these weapons

Great video! I just used it to clean my new Sig P226 MK25 RX.
Very nice! How you like shooting it so far?

What could you do really wrong in cleaning a pistol ? Too much solvent sprayed everywhere until all the debris is removed?
It's clean but not greased. Don't do what this guy does unless you want premature wear on your firearm
He said at beginning of video what he is using CLP Break-Free is both a cleaner and lubricant.
F BOMB tactical I grease my slide and oil the rest.
Justin Rockwell grease should be used on the rails, not a necessity but highly recommended....
Thank you.
Love the gun, ya dig
How you know "Shmatka" :D nice video btw
haha, thanks
