Portland is one of my favourite cities. Their casual overly helpful insanity is wonderful if not a little bit scary. But I'm Irish so if people aren't confrontational we don't know what to do with them. This show is perfect.
Cynthia Charles Let me guess; the American kind of "Irish"? Born and raised in the US yet identify as "Irish" because you have some distant heritage? Your average Irish is just about as confrontational as your average Finn or a potted plant.
Ego Alters Why do people get so uppity about Americans identifying with their ethnic ancestry? In a country as young as the US, communities and households here are very much shaped by the culture from which the immigrants who settled there are from. For instance, I'm a third generation American but my family's ethnic heritage is Ashkenazi Jewish. Because of this, we have certain cultural quirks and practices that don't make us exactly the same as any other American. We aren't just copies of the same thing, where our ancestors were from does tend to make a difference in our upbringing.
@@echostorm1996 There's a big difference between identifying with your ethnic heritage, and calling yourself Irish if you're American.
