Craziest thing about the hurricane story is that it implies he was surprised by hurricane season - like it was something unusual that hadn't happened before and had to be the result of some outside interference. Correction: the hurricane wall around Texas is either too short or too long.
It doesn't protect the Gulf Coast, which is where literally all TX-bound hurricanes come from, unless water is somehow enough to keep hurricanes out in Graphics Department Land, in which case most of the wall between Texas and Oklahoma isn't necessary, due to the Red River forming that particular border.
Good catch at 10:11. The coast is the part you'd want to erect the hurricane wall *first*. Though in all fairness, if The Former Guy proposed a hurricane wall, he'd probably draw it exactly like Seth's graphic. Only he'd use a Sharpie.
The wall is around Texas to make sure it really concentrates the storms severity. That's what Texas government would want.
It's really revealing how singularly focused we can be as a country. But yeah, it is very troubling that people who do not know what they are doing in the White House can get away with inciting an insurrection simply because there are no authorities higher up who know what precedent to set for punishing members of Congress, even in the best of times.
I'm convinced that the only thing that will fix this is if there is a law that citizens can sue Congress for lying on the floor.
The fact that it has come to this means there are serious holes that need to be filled
The American political system is defunct and antiquated and needs to change in order to retain our democracy.
There are many elements of it that are playing out that way. The senate should now look more like the people it's supposed to represent, rather than the people who give senators dark money to treat us all like unruly serfs.
