Sure the bullet won’t kill them but you gotta think it still hurts. It’d be like if someone shot at you with a paintball gun. It’s not gonna kill you but you really don’t want to feel pain.

Guys, all the classic Disney movies were based on books. That's how they made such a huge media empire, making movies based on familiar stories that people already liked, which were public domain and didn't need to be paid for.
I have to disagree with you on T’Challa loosing the fight with Kilmonger, “because the plot needs him to lose”. He loses that fight because he’s struggling with his feelings of empathy for his cousin, whom he not only finds out exists but had a shitty life divorced from his culture directly because of his father who he idolizes and had just died. He doesn’t want to kill his cousin because he feels guilty not only about his fathers betrayal but because he is realizing that his ancestors’ policy of not sharing their amazing technology and remaining secretive has been detrimental to the rest of the world. On the other hand Kilmonger is solely looking to kill him out of a lifelong revenge plan. The reason why he’s able to defeat Eric at the end is because he is able to speak with his ancestors, including his father, and confront them about their bad choices, decide to do better, and realize the type of king that he is meant to be. He goes into the last fight against an overly confident/arrogant Kilmonger, with help (he was alone in the first), and a sense of who he is as a leader. He has forgiven himself and reconciled his guilt and plans to move forward and make changes. I’m not saying the plot of Black Panther is the best, most original writing out there, but it does deserve credit where it’s due.
In the wise words of Peter “Star-Lord” Quill: “It’s good, except it sucks.” In the wise paraphrased words of Cosmonaut Marcus: “It sucks, except it’s good.”
@My name is Irrelevant Shazam, Wonder Woman, and Joker were really good movies. The only thing holding back Wonder Woman was the CGI nightmare final battle it had, and the only thing holding back Aquaman for me was the writing. I have no idea why they hired the same guy who wrote Venom. The only reason this cinematic universe is trash (at the moment) is because of Warner Bros. and their stupid executives, who didn't care about DC's characters or their universe. They didn't even care about the filmmakers. They literally chopped up David Ayer's Suicide Squad movie behind his back. The reason I said (at the moment) is because Warner Bros. was bought by AT&T, and those stupid executives are gone now. That's why Shazam and Joker were such good films. AT&T is a whole different story. The executives over there actually care. And with all of these announcements, and movies that sound amazing in development, I think the DCEU has a bright future.😁 But now that I think about it, if they actually cared about Renee Montoya, Cassandra Cain, or Black Canary, they wouldn't have fucked up their characters so much in Birds of Prey. I hope that was just a one time thing.😅

A freaking love this movie. It's dumb, it knows it's dumb, and it OWNS it. It has fun with everything it is, and pulls it off so well I can't possibly hate it. I love the underwater aesthetics, I love the cheesy costumes, I love the legitimately good shots, I love the random desert sand-slide, I love all the major villain fights, I love the explosion interruptions, I love the cliche character-growth and callbacks and story beats, I love it all. Well, maybe not the crude humor jokes, but we can't all be perfect. They're rare enough I can overlook them. I usually try to think more critically about what I'm watching. But I don't want to analyze Aquaman. I'm too happy with what I'm watching to care to.
13:00 - Fun fact: that octopus drummer is Aquaman's pet in the comics. His name is Topo. After Crisis on Infinite Earths, Topo became a squid, and in the New 52 he was a sea monster hybrid of crab and octopus that was apparently too smart to be controlled by Aquaman's fish telepathy.

"Why does no one believe Atlantis exists despite all the obvious evidence and many experts" is a bold take to have during a pandemic that some people believe is a hoax.
Especially when the only actual evidence of a place even being called Atlantis is a short piece of writing that is only a fraction of what Homer described of Troy. That 'evidence' is clearly a Hellenized account (like ancient Greek white washing) of an Egyptian story that lost a significant amount in the retelling.

tbh i was suprised how the movie sent these two into a desert but didnt bother to mention their dehydration problem not even once. it would be a good opportunity to remind us they are not invulnerable and can be relatable
The most frustrating thing about this movie is how clear it is that James Wan wanted this movie to be good. It's visually impressive, the fight scenes are dynamic, the costumes are all amazing, and the actors are all doing really well with their roles. But the script is just SO BAD that there was nothing he could do to fix it short of a total rewrite. And that sucks.
When I watched this movie me and my friends were yelling at it everytime people were talking Then the big final fight scene happens and I'm like "YEAH FINALLY SHIT IS HAPPENING WOO" AND THEN THEY STOP TO HAVE A ROMANTIC CONVERSATION AND A KISS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE GIANT WAR AND DESTROYED ALL THE MOMENTUM OF THE SCENE AND I SCREAMED
GameZedd01 they look awesome, especially Black Manta. It’s straight from the comics, it’s obvious Wan wanted to embrace the camp of Aquaman while also making it badass.
Except the “Pollution is bad” Prince/King Orm pointed out that he hates Arthur and surface dwellers because his mother was killed for having Arthur with a surface man. Then after he sees his mom being alive and she tells him that what he was thinking is completely wrong, he immediately stops being dumb. Which for me this movie goes quite logical in that particular point.
Also they explained why Orm was declaring war on the crab people and why it was important. I'm so glad we got that instead of them on land fighting generic military grunts.
"his mother was killed for that"? Um... Who "killed" his mother though? The surface dwellers? Honestly, it's even dumber then just "pollution bad"... God. Think about any plot for 5 seconds and it crumbles these days... wtf is happening?
@@SamuelGalvan_ Considering Atlanteans see humans as inferior, Orm probably heard some horrible shit. It'd be the equivalent of having fond memories of your mother, as a child, then suddenly she disappears without a trace. And then for the next 30 years all you hear is how your mother committed beastiality with the alien species that has been ruining your home. And none of your allies are doing anything. Then she is unceremoniously executed, and you couldn't even see the body. But not before bearing a bastard hybrid that she abandoned you to love. Whose rightful place is be king of the kingdom you've been born to rule. And is fucking your hot wife. No wonder Orm is fucked up
Wasn’t the other reason Ocean Master hated the humans was because since his mother married a human and that was the reason she was “executed” he felt that humans were responsible for her “Death”. Granted I haven’t seen the movie in a long time, but I feel like you missed that part Marcus.
I think Orm hated humans more than just pollution, but because his mom had an illegitimate child with a human which caused her supposed 'execution/exile' by the previous King of Atlantis. That's why when Orm saw his mom alive and well, he stopped fighting.

3:34 Marcus questioned on why Aquaman used a “shield” to deflect bullets when he is already invulnerable to bullets. Understand that depending on what level of strength u are as a suphero even if you are invulnerable to bullets to a degree you’re still going to feel pain from the impact maybe even get pushed back from it, such as how he fell down after Black Manta shot him.

save this video time by saying “in my opinion”, not a fantastic movie but its meant to be stupid and it does that. doubt anyone over the age of 6 came out of the film thinking it was a masterpiece of cinema.was just fun
Ironic you say this because SPOILER in the comic his character is the real cause of the war. He stoked the fires and used the sub to attack Ocean Master so Atlantis thought that the humans were attacking.
When he says “call me ocean master” for the first time in the movie his mask moves with his emotions like it does in Deadpool and Spider-Man. That’s My favorite part of the movie. The close up of that really awkward line and shot
See I can’t help but LOVE this movie because it’s really cheesy and kinda cliche and it feels like a comic book story come to life. In my personal opinion anyways. The flaws aren’t so bad that it’s unenjoyable or distracting to me.
To point out the final battle, throughout the movie, King Orm has been recruiting different sea alliances cuz they stated that he can't legally go to war with the surface world unless he has 3 different factions on his side. Mera's father already joined King Orm alongside another Fish alliance, and the crabs were the last creatures to stand in Orm's Way. The movie frequently moves back and forth between the characters.

Sure the bullet won’t kill them but you gotta think it still hurts. It’d be like if someone shot at you with a paintball gun. It’s not gonna kill you but you really don’t want to feel pain.

Some didn't know Pocahontas was a real teenage girl who was sold to a hebophile.
A summary of that whole thing would be nice but ok.

@My name is Irrelevant ,they are the only good movies of DCEU,+Man of Steel and Wonder Woman
@@dtccocomelon9114 no, not man of steel
And with all of these announcements, and movies that sound amazing in development, I think the DCEU has a bright future.😁
But now that I think about it, if they actually cared about Renee Montoya, Cassandra Cain, or Black Canary, they wouldn't have fucked up their characters so much in Birds of Prey. I hope that was just a one time thing.😅

Horrible, disgusting, highly offensive. Those ears give me terrible nightmares. Wouldn't recommend. -5/10
You could say Marcus went through his own hero's journey to coming around and accepting this movie.
How shibboleth of him
"Time to choose aquaman, save the woman you love or suffer the children!"
Wait, right actor, wrong movie.
The right actor was in this movie though.
Ironic you say this because SPOILER in the comic his character is the real cause of the war. He stoked the fires and used the sub to attack Ocean Master so Atlantis thought that the humans were attacking.
@Brendan Rickey I like the homecoming suit a lot, but the Raimi trilogy suit is just... iconic. It is the one that marked my childhood the most.
Godspeed, Aquaman.
"Me and you can rule this city, Spidah-Ma... uh, shit sorry, Aquaman! Or we can fight to the death!"
24:18 Marcus finally admits.
When he says “call me ocean master” for the first time in the movie his mask moves with his emotions like it does in Deadpool and Spider-Man. That’s My favorite part of the movie. The close up of that really awkward line and shot
Marcus: sorry I was busy
Also Marcus: *watches all 5 twilight movies
But aren't we all happy he did?
See I can’t help but LOVE this movie because it’s really cheesy and kinda cliche and it feels like a comic book story come to life. In my personal opinion anyways. The flaws aren’t so bad that it’s unenjoyable or distracting to me.
That’s exactly what it is🤨🤨🤨🤨
I feel that way about the suicide squad , a movie that is proud of being a comic book rather than been a shamed of the silly stuff
It sounds like Marcus enjoys the movie but has a lot of nitpicks about it. But that’s ridiculous, Marcus doesn’t like this movie.
*all his “reviews”*
For me he had fun watching it but he know that is a bad movie.
@@LorenzoSartor nah it's more like he wants to hate it but he can't
10:11 “...and now we have another exposition scene interrupted by an explosion.
...
Okay what’s going on here, guys? Am I gonna have to start asking you guys some questions?”
*Well yes, you can, but as soon as you start getting an answer the room will blow up.*
By the end of the movie, I was waiting for an explosion scene to be interrupted by exposition.
JAJAJAJ
Oh come on thats ridicul-
*explosion*
"Sure pollution is bad, but I don't think genocide is the answer." - and yet, so many people thought it was cool when Thanos said it.
Film theory: *sweats*
Thanos was mainly due to overpopulation he doesn’t care about earth if anything it’s simply a experiment because of what happened to his own planet he wants to try it again to see if it will fail or succeed so genocide is the answer technically
Cab well he still killed half of all living life and when he did that it made earth suffer more so it wasn’t the answer
Xillian Bro you got me there
@@acab9120 With the power of the infinity stones he should be able to just create more resources and prevent people from reproducing, its a way better solution than just genociding half the population
My one problem with this film was always Black Manta but now that I know he’s the reason the submarine attacked Atlantis I don’t mind him. He’s only in the story as much as he needs to be as opposed to TASM 2 where all the villains kinda just keep showing up out of no where.
Pollution is his excuse for being a tyrannical villian. He doesnt care about pollution he just seeks power
This movie REALLY REALLY does NOT need an explanation for anything, it is dumb, it knows it and that's part of the charm
@@TheSaNdMaN5000 nah analysing movies ain't no crime
If I were a fish I would probably be very made at humans knowing they also eat my people lol
@@iamKhaldune but atlanteans use fish for various purposes as well.
one or two demonstration about how pollution effects atlantis would be nice. but no... atlantis was like heaven, so were the other kingdoms.
im starting to think all of his reasons are atlantis was bigot about land and his father raised him to be a bigot as well
Marcus: “she tells Arthur that he’s gotta go to Oceanland and be the new king and Arthur’s like-“
Ad: “Have you ever thought about polishing your skin??”
*Ad Starts* Don't worry about that, Have a drink!
And Arthur's like- DOWNLOAD UA-cam PREMIUM
And Arthur's like- trade stocks with trading 212
Marcus: I hate this movie
Also Marcus in private: I actually like it they just can’t know
Marcus has a lot of these kinds of takes........And it confuses the actual fuck out of me.
He isnt in private it ends with him saying “i guess i like this movie”
The line about Jason Mamoa's stance made me burst out laughing - priceless!
"I like a character named vegeta who's from the planet vageta"
Insert DBZA "Me, my son, or the planet?" clip here
YES!
GODDAMMIT NAPPAAAAAA!!!!
@@mnomadvfx Wrong quote.
Grand vizier Nappa, I ask for your guidance
"My son, the planet, or me?"
James wan is not a dumb guy.
He kept the story way too simple, because he made the world way too awesome and unrealistic world...to compensate that he kept a simple and a generic story...
Just like Fast and The Furious.
He’s a good director it’s just the writing was bad
Or like the original Star Wars
I mean the generic story is kinda based on the comics
@@lewis213b7 exactly
I actually have a secret crush on this movie and I am glad Marcus likes it too. Man it's so cheesy and stupid, but man is it just so damn fun.
Fr, when you watch it you kinda know how the story is gonna go, like, you know they are going to scape the city, that Aquaman is gonna find his mom, etc... But the way they show this things makes it fun, I knew he was gonna find his mom but I didn't expect to see dinossaurs too
after that first action scene with atlanta on the house, i was on board. Long shot action scenes are my weakness. Great movie to watch over playing a board game rpg or smth with friends
Humorous, insightful, and a superb job editing.
Sorry to have to use a trope ("shibboleth" truly is unwieldy)
but you rock.
