Just as an extra bit of trivia the Kain's lance name is reference to Kain from ff4 aka one of the only dragoon main/side characters in the final fantasy series and is one of the most iconic hence his fame / legend referred to in game.
For those following this as a guide, you really should consider these numbers about some points made in this video. Especially considering Trap farming and the Catalogs. - The Collector's Catalog multiplies "normal drops" by 1.5%, while the Connoisseur's Catalog multiplies "rare drops" by 1.1%. Two of the same type don't stack (even on different characters) but both can be used in the same battle. *But*, be wary that each monster can only drop *one* item per battle. If the rare one drops, it'll replace the common drop (if it dropped too). - A Trap has a 1% chance of dropping for both toises and tortoises. Being the "rare" drop for those, it's only boosted by 1.1 with the Connoisseur's Catalog. Still, if you do a 5 stars battle, the rare drop rates are multiplied by 5, thus rounding it at a 5.5% per battle to have a Trap drop. (A 4 stars battle multiplies rare drops by 3.) - toises and tortoises also have a 25% chance to give a Platinum ingot (150k gils !!!). Good to make money. It's 37.5% with the Collector's Catalog. - Also, the Long Gui (probably too late for that^^) has a base 5% chance a giving a rare Trap (5.5 with the Connoisseur's Catalog, 27.5% with a 5 stars, but death strat doesn't work here). And 25% of an ingot too. - *ULTRA IMPORTANT* : Most ultimate weapon, when dismanteled, won't give back 3 Traps. Some only give 2, some 1. And some don't give back any at all. The ones that can give back 3 Traps are 4 of Vanille's Nirvana and 5 of Fang's Kain's Lance. For Nirvana, it comes from Tigerclaw/Wyrmfang, Mistilteinn/Eryne's Cane, Healer's Staff/Physician's staff and Belladonna Wand/Malboro Wand. For Kain's Lance, it comes from Dragoon Lance/Dragonhorn, Punisher/Banescissor Spear, Gae Bolg/Gungnir, Shamanic Spear/Herectic's Halberd and Pandoran Spear/Calamity Spear. - Genji gloves, when maxed out (1 level to do so) and dismanteled also give one Trap. But you can only get two of them in the game and they are pretty useful, so think ahead if you consider this possibility.
+kangourouuu1 fantastic, this is all the info that was too tedious to explain in detail in the video :) this is why I always say a written guide/FAQ can be better in some areas.
Also forgot one thing : the "buy 99 bio component costing 80 and use 36 of them to get to x3" method you/Dansg uses is, according to calculation made by people from the community, the most cost effective one. One could argue that you could get more if you used those bio components gradually to get to each multiplier stage, thus maxing out the output for each of them. But compared to the huge numbers of XP needed when you use such a strat and the time you get back by simply using huge artificial components 4 steps closer, you finally lose time. And the former is, at the end, also the fastest one.
Old Skool Wax If you knew the number of guide there is to check to be sure of an info on this game...^^ I'm no guide writter, but you can always be sure that mechanics related info I give are near-always 100% accurate, as I excel at compiling. I mostly know them by heart by now, but for *that* level of technical, I'm not crazy enough.^^ (FFX is more my jam.) And as even official sources can contradict themselves, it's always a good ol' fact checking fun on 5 guides and 3 youtube playlists. (trowing numbers here, that could be way more or way less, not mentionning forums) Tl;dr : Yea I discovered nothing of it.^^ But it's still holds up, thanks to the community (and official guides) !
If this game ever makes to PS5, drop rates improvement is a MUST and well as improved CP leveling system (instead of long drain one at a time progression).
It's so hard to make those Trapezohedrons drop with that 1% chance. Been trying for about 3 days now. Over 20 attempts lol. Two rare drop bracelets equipped so they probably don't stack. I'm made about 5 of those platinum ingots drop though.
I think you might have explained it in the video, but using a summon knocks Adamantoise type enemies to the ground for the duration? Is that just in general, or just an effect of Vanille's summon? Anyway, still enjoying the walkthrough. It's nice to see all these elements of Gran Pulse that I've never taken the time to see.
Lol I dont think he knows that you only need 1 trapezehedron the entire game to make all the ultimate weapons. One trapezehedron makes one Ultimate weapon But when you max out the weapon, you can break it down into 3 more trapezehedron. And you can do this for any ultimate weapon basically gettings as many trapezehedron as you need, you can even sell them for max gil.
So much commitment for that Trapezohedron

Daze is really useful it completely stops a target and renders it weak and your next attack or magic is dealing double damage
For anyone wondering, the same catalogs do not stack and the catalogs work no matter who in the battle team equips them.

Which is probably where that person went first in order to appear the smartest person in the comments section.

I don't have one trapezahedron yet and I am now at the point where I can farm these guys without summon.
Drop rate is horrendous
@@SageDragun 7 years later you reply and guess what, I started a new play through 😂. Thanks I guess haha

+WaveK89 Summoning in general will do this, it works for all of them.
Lol if I was playing the game myself I probably wouldn't have the energy to do all these side quests
It took me 53 attempts to get a trapezahderon. Sob
