The chicken knife and brave blade from FFV had interesting mechanics, and they could be stronger than the ragnarok at their max, felt like that was left out
Brave blade was the strongest game in ffv's original version as long as you never ran from battle. The chicken knife capped out almost 25 points lower. While being more powerful than most weapons the chicken knife couldn't reach ragnorok levels
Totally glossing over the Seitengrat in Final Fantasy XII. I get thats it’s collected from a hidden chest and is a 1/10,000 chance, but it’s still the most powerful weapon in the game.
"Hey, I have an idea. To get the strongest sword for Steiner lets ask the player to go trough an insane speedrun. That'll be lots of fun!!" - Some asshole madman from FF9 production team
Considering the time limitations you are also forced to skip certain other missable items during the speedrun, which is hell for any completionist out there. :\
I think you could emphasize more on how insane, brutal, and near impossible for most people to obtain the ultimate weapon in FFXI. It still stands as the most hardcore undertaking in any game I've ever played. It takes anywhere from months to years with a good number of real people dedicating their time to your cause over the journey.
You missed one thing about Ragnarok in VI. Another unique feature of it is that you have to choose to either make it a sword or keep it as an esper and since the only way for anyone but Terra to learn Ultima the spell is via either the Ragnarok esper or the Paladin's shield, which is a headache and a half to obtain and should get an honorable mention for being the ultimate shield, you have to forego getting arguably the most powerful spell in the game on nearly your entire party until it's basically redundant should you choose to keep it a sword but if you make it an esper you can never get Lightbringer at all. Like something out of Star Wars, quick and easy path and all lol.
I always go with the sword so I can get Illumina. Then I give it to Celes along with the paladin shield, minverva bustier and the oath veil and she becomes my atma weapon..
One of the things I loved or thought was super interesting about the ultima weapons in 7 was they had no materia leveling basically telling you hey this is it ( which is what Ultimate means, the end )
I don't like it, because when you obtain a new weapon it feels less like a definitive upgrade and more like an alternative option. This ruins the excitement of acquiring a new weapon. And it's my biggest problem with games that go the route of "all weapons are created equal". FF7Remake - however - has a novel solution, where you can master weapons to get permanent stat gains and new movesets which carry over onto any other weapon. So, obtaining a new weapon is still a definitive upgrade to your character, yet simultaneously you can use whatever you want. Can't be more excited for...
@@FlutterSwag You have to upgrade weapons using enemy item drops. Ultima weapons are particularly difficult as the components are incredibly rare and given the fact that ultima weapons don't have an equipment group for item bonuses. Sometimes I wonder if they are truly worth it.
Crazyhart Over the course of the game, enemies drop upgrade materials that you can use to power up the weapons you collect. They go through 3 distinct stages as they are upgraded, and when a weapon reaches its 3rd stage, it becomes an “ultimate weapon.” That’s the simplest way to put it.
I got all of the sword abilities in FF7R and then just upgraded my buster sword for that specific reason. I started playing the original though and I couldn’t keep using that thing lol
In the original game its clouds weakest sword because he starts with it, but he’s still strong enough to never NEED to change weapons. In the remake the buster sword is a weapon that you can use for the entire game because you can upgrade it and it’s pretty well balanced.
There is Brave Blade in the same game, and it functions essentialy they same, just the opposite. If you never run, it's the strongest sword in the game.
Kingdom Hearts also has it's Ultima(te) Weapon (Keyblade) that involves tireless grinding of monsters for drop items that can be synthesize by moogles to create it. It's existed in all KH games and is normally considered a post game quest since certain monsters were only achievable at the late game stages. In that way, it's very much like a regular Ultimate since by the time you get it, you're very much OP for the main storyline. However, KH has secret bosses that are WAY harder than the Final Story boss so it's not has redundant as certain FF games.
Worth noting that VI and VII had drawbacks with their Ultimates. VII’s zero-Materia-growth schtick meant I, personally, never used them, and to get Illumina in VI required you to give up the Ragnarok Esper (which I never did - the Morph ability was too useful)
@@Skul1ManEXE better pinch yourself first I remember one hiring myself because I prioritized my damage over my health I had to equip my characters with weapons instead of bare fists just to not kill my characters
I know it isn't a weapon, but the Adamant armor in FF4 really gives that feeling of being invincible. Plus, it fits the criteria of being a pain in the ass to get.
I do love the fact that sequence breaking and prioritizing exploration can really juice your performance in FFXII while still letting you use those toys against the numerous challenge bosses. Many of the "non-hack" gear could be found throughout the game and they remain relevant throughout. The "busted as shit" gear is useful for trial mode which gives them some use as well.
You can't craft anything more powerful than the upgraded celestial weapons in 10. Aside from their obvious strength they each have other effects and abilities that can't be copied.
@@davidmcguire6043 If you have the stats to deal max damage naturally you can actually craft weapons better then the celestials since 1 mp cost is god tier. Mind you most people don't play to that stage and it's the most boring thing in existence so I would have to agree with you.
@@33link333 the celestial weapons have effects and boosts that are not listed you can Google them and I may be in the strategy guide but it doesn't list it in the game but really all anyone needs is Yuna as a black mage with one MP cost, magic boost, break damage limit, ultima and double cast
@@33link333 Ultimate Weapons (Celestial Weapons) cannot be surpassed by any kind of custom made weapon because they provide boost that aren't visible in game or anywhere else. For example: Tidus, Wakka, Rikku and Kimahri's will provide more damage when you're at full HP, also it ignored enemy defense (but not piercing); vice versa for our mages Lulu and Yuna the damage scales higher when they have full MP. Auron is the only exception here as his was scale with how low his HP was, maximum dps is achieved at 30% HP, that's also why his celestial weapon Masamune has counterattack instead of evade and counter, it makes Auron get hit more often since lower HP = higher dps. The more you know :)
@@lucent4144 I specifically said if you can hit the damage limit naturally in which case one mp cost is technically worth more then the hidden damage multipliers, I then said that only a tiny fraction of people play to that point so it is largely irrelevant. I played FF XI for over 10 years. Took me 5years to get my first fully upgraded relic weapon for Samurai and 2 more years to get my second relic for ranger. It was very time consuming. I love this video. Can’t wait to see more like this.
I remember building a Mandau in FFXI. I even got it to item level 119 before i quit playing. I was so proud of it. And those weapons were psychotic. Mandau had the soul of a bloodthirsty woman in it. She always wanted to kill. She'd constantly ask for blood from the PC.
I remember I played FFIV so much I found a kind of alternative for Kain's Holy Lance. It was the Dragoon one. It would decimate some enemies better than the Holy Lance.
@@martinwiseley2580 yeah, but bosses are not op either ☝ They are predictable and easy to beat once you know how. I am not saying the sword isn't good, but it's not op in a pvp match or even bosses since there are many ways to beat all bosses quicker and easier than tje sword ever could
It would be cool if you guys could make a video about the ultimate weapons featured in the Dissidia franchise, since many of them aren't true weapons but cool references and callbacks to their respective games for example Golbez's is the Zeromus shard, which is not a weapon featured in FF4 but it was a shard he gave to Cecil in order to be able to damage the final boss
Not sure is this was implemented in any FF game already, but I think it would be cool to have the option of obtaining ultimate weapons early on. The reason would be because the strength of the weapon is inherently tied to how much you use it. Normal weapons could have static damage output, but ultimates could potentially have higher output if leveled up with the character. And instead of the character learning abilities from having a weapon equipped, the opposite would be true. The weapon could be equipped by various characters to give it unique abilities like chance to absorb health, cause status affects or cast certain black magic, but only if those characters knew those spells. There would have to be limits of course, and maybe the amount of exp the weapon got would be based on certain types of character damage output while wielding it per encounter. Idk, just like theorizing about stuff like this.
I know this isn't really anything big But in the game World of Final Fantasy, the main antagonist brandelis uses the sealed weapons in his final battles. He uses mostly murasme and excalibur, if you notice the excalibur resembles the version from final fantasy 9. I guess its just some little details that i like to point out in some games, Square Enix is pretty good at putting stuff like that in their games ^^
My favorite ultimate weapon is Squall's Lionheart. I'm working on the Gunbreaker relic in FFXIV because I hope the last step this expansion will be Lionheart. 😁
Saying that FFXI and FFXIV have "Ultimate Weapons" is a bit disingenuous. A better term would be Artifact or Relic Weapons and FFXIV has always had weapons from the final tier of the Savage raid and purchased (Augmented) Tomestone weapons that are similarly powerful to the completed Relic weapon.
ff14 has 2 ultimate weapons, the relic/artifact weapons and the savage/ultimate fight weapons. the latter having the higher ilevel and the former having the better stats.
back in the day I did the realm sketch on an invisible enemy glitch - this gave me a buncha secret weapons like paladine shields and more than one atma weapon. 2 atma weapons + genji glove + offering = the ability to attack 8 x for 9999 each - you can kill any ultimate enemy in one or more shots with this.
Ive done 7 so many times and just got for the switch to play but dont know if to play it as meant or just use the buffs to just enjoy it without the grinding as i have done that in the past? 🤔🤔
I think it's fair to include the Vortex weapons as FFXV's Ultimate Weapons, because, while I think it's a great game now, it was clearly unfinished upon it's initial release. If games weren't patchable like back in the day, I assume FFXV: Royal Edition would have been the only version of FFXV we saw.
I'd still question it, since those are (visually, at least) copies of some of the weapons dropped by _FFXIV's_ Garuda. That is, they're crossover weapons.
I'm surprised you didn't mention the kh series. Sure it grew outside of final fantasy but it's usage of ultima weapon is much more prevalent in the series with it's upgrades being more apparent
I remember the first time I ran through Final Fantasy XII before my older brother brought me an official guide, Phon Coast was a treasure trove... Util I found out about the 4 forbidden chests xD. Oh the horror back then, completely scrapped my playthrough and started over.
This video reminded me of a Book I read when I was young called The Book of Swords. Some of you may have read it. My favorite was a sword called Shieldbreaker. "I shatter Swords and splinter spears; None stands to Shieldbreaker. My point's the fount of orphans' tears My edge the widowmaker."
There are a few other weapons in Final Fantasy 6 worth mentioning as being "ultimate" weapons by your own criteria: Fixed Dice and Valiant Knife. Fixed Dice is unique to Setzer, and is found in Kefka's Tower. It has a unique damage code where the attacker throws 3 dice at an enemy, the numbers of which are then multiplied together and that result is then multiplied by the character's level. If the attacker rolls three of the same number, the damage factor of those numbers is tripled. Because the attack damage is coded as a unique effect, it bypasses a few regular Attack command steps, resulting in the weapon ignoring enemy defense and bypassing the 50% damage penalty from using X-Attack via the Offering (Master's Scroll) relic. (but NOT Berserk status; you still get the damage bonus) Valiant Knife is a dirk/knife weapon only available to Locke (sans Merit Award shenanigans) and is very similar to the Ultima Weapon in how it ignores enemy defense, ignores enemy evasion, and adds damage based on the wielder's current HP vs their max HP. However, there are two major differences. First, the HP damage formula is inverted, meaning it GROWS in strength the closer to death its wielder is rather than getting weaker. Second, unlike the Ultima Weapon, Valiant Knife retains its full normal statted Battle Power regardless of what the wielder's HP is (and still ignores defense on top of this) meaning there is no real drawback to using it. As a consequence, Valiant Knife is actually comparable to Ultima Weapon at most stages of the game, and will easily hit the damage cap when Locke is max level (especially if you Vigor-train him via Esper level up bonuses).
@@theworstcatholic7247 And THAT is exactly why it would've been interesting to go through in this vid. If a weapon named "Ultima Weapon/Blade" was always the best weapon in every regard, then there would be no intriguing content to go through here. Cuz it would be every time the same thing.
One thing you forgot to point out with Final Fantasy X is that many of the ultimate weapons, when powered up with their respective crests, allow Yuna's Aeons to also break the damage limit.
ffx-2 had an "ultimate weapon" if you count the dresspheres as weapons. You had the standard mascot dressphere which could be used to give your party the ability of 3 different move sets for each character along with the move sets of 2 others per character, but then you had the "special dresspheres" that removed the other two party members and made one character act as 3, and if they fell, their allies could rush back into battle, revive them, and you know how that song and dance goes.
While in some games it may take time to get the ultimate equipment (and sometimes time well spent), in FFIV its just a major pain. I had to trick my mind to not die by stress and boredom by watching lots of videos while battling against the absurd RNG. Squre-Enix please don't ever do such things again... P.S. I farmed enough to fully equip all characters T_T
Should've mentioned that the Wyrmhero Blade is a direct reference to the Dragon Quest series since its sound effects for attacking and missing are akin to those in DQ.
zidaryn not saying you’re wrong. But their’s a “best weapon” in everryyyy final fantasy. Part of the journey is completing the side quests so you can acquire them. Even though by the time you acquire them in the original FF7 is well after the first installment of the remake is supposed to end, it’s still a full Final Fantasy game (supposedly). So their still has to be some kind of: top of the line, or ultimate weapons you can get before it’s all over.
From what I have seen so far you will be able to upgrade the weapons in Final Fantasy VII Remake and you will be able to learn from mastering the weapons. You can correct me if I am wrong.
The everlasting tradition of deducing, questing, waiting, warring, searching, and spending; all for the satisfaction of obtaining your party's most devastating weapon... the feeling of fulfillment when the battle screen pops up and you see the spectacularly designed arms in the possession of your party members and the DMG number that displays once said weapon lands its initial blow. For some, the game is not complete until you see the ultimate weapon equipped on your team. And you want to see it for every single party member; as they deserve no less. You dare not approach a mega boss until you have these weapons...
FF IX Zeus Mace (Vivis Ultimate) is crazy strong if you are familiar with the mechanics of the game. It grants Vivi Doomsday wich does 9999 dark dmg to all characters/monsters on screen, wich resulted in your party getting fully healed with the right accessiore equipped while the enemy got completely destroyed.
xiv also has literal ultimate weapons, but instead of being progression or best in slot weapons, they're trophies for conquering the most difficult fights in the game. There are currently three sets, but some are definite homages to the originals like stardust rod being one (it is literally stardust rod. There are two versions, but the ultimate version has a godly blue shine).
I do admit i miss the whole ultimate weapon sidequest some games used to have and how it ties to a personal narative arc sometimes to a main character. It did get lost in time past the 2010s era.
IDK, I thought FF7's weapons were pretty ultimate. Cloud's Ultima Weapon can only be gotten from a boss, it has 4 linked materia slots, with the only other sword that has that has 1/3 the attack damage without counting Ultima Weapon's bonus. At full HP it does 4x the damage. I'd say it's pretty Ultima. Maybe FF7's ultimate weapons dont seem impressive because of how OP materia combos can make you.
It should be noted that in FFXIV, the Relic weapons don't really become the best until the final x.5 patch. Before that, for each of the gear steps (3 in each expansion), the best weapon is gained by clearing the Savage tier of the 8-man raids. The Ultimate fights reward weapons of equal strength, just with extra visual flair. And then there was the time between patch 3.5 and Stormblood, when the best weapon was gained by completing a mission in a special instance that triggered randomly, required coordinating with 71 other players, and hoping to be the lucky player among the 72 to get it, and hoping its the one you want alongside the RNG substats being actually useful.
When Final Fantasy 12 came out I purchased the guide to go along with it. So I was able to see the Marks and what they yielded etc. Even managed to get the Zodiac Spear. However... It isnt JUST FFXII that does this.. but it was the most obvious to me.. "Beat the hardest enemy in the game to get the best weapon in the game" -- If I already beat the hardest enemy/mark.... then WHY do I even need the weapon?! That has always irritated me. Got down to the last 2 marks and just decided EFF IT! -- Am I the only one?
Nope, I hear ya! I want the option of finding ultimate weapons a lot earlier. It can still be hard as hell to get, but why make anyone wait til they dont even need them? Unless they open up super dungeons or some crap, I dont even care

Sorry. The Excalibur II, 1:11, is not worth it outside of speedruns. To get that sword, a PC must blitz all four discs in 12 hours or less. I'd rather play the game, enjoy Chocobo hot and cold, then settle for Ragnarok: The sword with 2 less attack power.
You missed Final Fantasy Tactics! That game had a few weapons that might be considered "Ultimate", the best of which are probably the Javelin 2 and the Chaos Blade. There were also a number of "second tier" ultimates, some of which were quite difficult to get and rare.
Maybe you didn’t understand fully the things you could do? Having to find equipment or accessories to counter stats was not needed late game especially against enemies and bosses that mostly did stat effects. Equipping death (a magic you shouldn’t waste time casting) to insta kill, being able to junction multiple elements. Improve stats you wanted. That system worked well. Did you hate the draw? My favourite Ultima Weapons aren't even from FF, they are from Kingdom Hearts main numbered games, because of them being a reward in the crafting system and super stylish designs
I love them because they are insanely impractical looking but oooh Stats and Shiney! XD
They are so awesome!!
Yes except for crafting in kh1 final. I hated farming those fucking monkeys in Tarzan jungle during final mix.
@@Wellgee Hard agree. Final Mix fucking ruined KH1 with its additional crafting items and stupid gimmick Heartless.

The chicken knife and brave blade from FFV had interesting mechanics, and they could be stronger than the ragnarok at their max, felt like that was left out
he forgot about the blood sword too
Brave blade was the strongest game in ffv's original version as long as you never ran from battle.

It was a dev weapon that got exploited in. Def not an ultimate weapon
There are RNG exploits you can manipulate in order to 100% get it every single time. I have enough Seitengrats to equip one for each character.
They do tend to keep mention of things from later ports in the background compared to the original.
"Hey, I have an idea. To get the strongest sword for Steiner lets ask the player to go trough an insane speedrun. That'll be lots of fun!!"
- Some asshole madman from FF9 production team
Considering the time limitations you are also forced to skip certain other missable items during the speedrun, which is hell for any completionist out there. :\
It makes Steiner the core of any FF IX speed run team.

Lol nothing compared to the sadist behind ffx's ultimate weapon quest.😆
I think you could emphasize more on how insane, brutal, and near impossible for most people to obtain the ultimate weapon in FFXI. It still stands as the most hardcore undertaking in any game I've ever played. It takes anywhere from months to years with a good number of real people dedicating their time to your cause over the journey.

Chicken knife
The Valiant Knife and Ultima Weapon make Locke a pretty powerful character.
Ultima Weapon is actually better than Ragnarok, slap it on someone with high HP
One of the things I loved or thought was super interesting about the ultima weapons in 7 was they had no materia leveling basically telling you hey this is it ( which is what Ultimate means, the end )

I really like ff13's flexible ultimate weapon system.
Never played 13 how does it work?
@CrimsonCaius YES, I don't even know an efficient way of doing that.
Was the Buster Sword ever an ultima weapon? It’s just so iconic for Zack Fair and Cloud Strife that I couldn’t bear using a different sword.
I got all of the sword abilities in FF7R and then just upgraded my buster sword for that specific reason. I started playing the original though and I couldn’t keep using that thing lol
Hahah I feel the same way. I associate the buster sword with Cloud and Zack so it feels a bit weird seeing Cloud wielding anything else.
In the original game its clouds weakest sword because he starts with it, but he’s still strong enough to never NEED to change weapons. In the remake the buster sword is a weapon that you can use for the entire game because you can upgrade it and it’s pretty well balanced.
Technically it's zacks ultimate weapon in crisis core...
@@chriswakley2362 not like you can change weapons in CC though
ah yes, the ultimate weapon. . . the chicken knife.
Pocky Styx it is just so damn good. It Carried me hard

I'm glad someone mentioned this. The Chicken Knife is the best weapon ever. I'm willing to run away from battles just to power it up.
There is Brave Blade in the same game, and it functions essentialy they same, just the opposite. If you never run, it's the strongest sword in the game.
This thread is for the true ff geeks. I love it
Kingdom Hearts also has it's Ultima(te) Weapon (Keyblade) that involves tireless grinding of monsters for drop items that can be synthesize by moogles to create it.
Farming the Wyrmhero Blade (FF12 : Yiazmat, Omega, fishimg sidequest) was so much fun.
You forgot the Final Fantasy 2's main Ultima weapon: the fists. Yes These are the Best freaking weapon in the game.
Punch enemies to increase unarmed damage, then punch yourself to increase max HP.
@@Skul1ManEXE better pinch yourself first I remember one hiring myself because I prioritized my damage over my health I had to equip my characters with weapons instead of bare fists just to not kill my characters
I would personally love an entire video dedicated to the ways FFXI did ultimate weapons. Tbh any XI specific content in general would be awesome.
I know it isn't a weapon, but the Adamant armor in FF4 really gives that feeling of being invincible. Plus, it fits the criteria of being a pain in the ass to get.
Ffiv paladin shield should have been here too
How about an evolution video about Biggs and Wedge throughout the series?
I do love the fact that sequence breaking and prioritizing exploration can really juice your performance in FFXII while still letting you use those toys against the numerous challenge bosses. Many of the "non-hack" gear could be found throughout the game and they remain relevant throughout. The "busted as shit" gear is useful for trial mode which gives them some use as well.
“They must be the most powerful weapons in the game.”
Tidus with a crafted weapon: *AAHH HA HA HA HA HA HA*
I know full well how the celestial weapons work but that's completely missing my point.
I played FF XI for over 10 years. Took me 5years to get my first fully upgraded relic weapon for Samurai and 2 more years to get my second relic for ranger. It was very time consuming. I love this video. Can’t wait to see more like this.
My favorite hands down is Lionheart in FF8. There's nothing cooler than semi-transparent listerine-colored blades
Loved that Atma weapon in FFVI. Being based on HP kept zombie Locke from wiping my party several times.
I love y’alls Final Fantasy content. Definitely one of my favorite FF channels.
I remember building a Mandau in FFXI. I even got it to item level 119 before i quit playing. I was so proud of it. And those weapons were psychotic. Mandau had the soul of a bloodthirsty woman in it. She always wanted to kill. She'd constantly ask for blood from the PC.
Didn't talk about the ultimate dress spheres in FFX-2 or The guns from Dirge of Cerberus.
I remember I played FFIV so much I found a kind of alternative for Kain's Holy Lance. It was the Dragoon one. It would decimate some enemies better than the Holy Lance.

Real talk: why does the fighter job from I, III, and Firion all look the same?
Coincidence, i think not...;)
Because Firion was a fighter?
Always remember the Dragon Buster and the items you need to make excaliber in ffiv, the admantian and rat's tail.
Great idea for a video, ultimate weapons have always been my thing
I know this isn't really anything big
But in the game World of Final Fantasy, the main antagonist brandelis uses the sealed weapons in his final battles. He uses mostly murasme and excalibur, if you notice the excalibur resembles the version from final fantasy 9.
I guess its just some little details that i like to point out in some games, Square Enix is pretty good at putting stuff like that in their games ^^
Ultimate weapons and you had the M4 from the most recent COD. THAT is solid work bro.
My favorite ultimate weapon is Squall's Lionheart. I'm working on the Gunbreaker relic in FFXIV because I hope the last step this expansion will be Lionheart. 😁

What i love is lionheart from VIII Back when internet wasnt so advanced, and you had to find marerials on your own
Saying that FFXI and FFXIV have "Ultimate Weapons" is a bit disingenuous.
You forgot empys
back in the day I did the realm sketch on an invisible enemy glitch - this gave me a buncha secret weapons like paladine shields and more than one atma weapon.
2 atma weapons + genji glove + offering = the ability to attack 8 x for 9999 each - you can kill any ultimate enemy in one or more shots with this.

"I shatter Swords and splinter spears;
None stands to Shieldbreaker.
My point's the fount of orphans' tears
My edge the widowmaker."
That sounds dope as hell
I had a minor mental breakdown trying to dodge 200 straight thunderbolts to unlock Lulu's Ultimate Weapon's full potential in FFX
(but NOT Berserk status; you still get the damage bonus)
Valiant Knife is a dirk/knife weapon only available to Locke (sans Merit Award shenanigans) and is very similar to the Ultima Weapon in how it ignores enemy defense, ignores enemy evasion, and adds damage based on the wielder's current HP vs their max HP.
Aw man, I thought you would've taken a look at the Ultimate Weapons from the Kingdom Hearts franchise as well.
Especially considering Jafar happens in the first one second.
Problem with that is kh has a problem with almost all it's games having a rival or better weapon than the ultima's in them.
@@theworstcatholic7247 And THAT is exactly why it would've been interesting to go through in this vid.
If a weapon named "Ultima Weapon/Blade" was always the best weapon in every regard, then there would be no intriguing content to go through here. Cuz it would be every time the same thing.
Now that I think about it, KH2's UW isn't really that ultimate due to mostly DP being useful in more situations
KH3 Ultima is the best one in its game.
I consider the special dresspheres more of a limit break than ultimate weapon
FYI the Lightbringer in the original version of FF6 was called Illumina.
It made me remember how hard was getting the stronger weapon from final fantasy tactics

This makes me so hype to see what the best weapons in FF7R are going to be!!
We'll likely have to wait for the next parts of it for those ultimate weapons.
zidaryn not saying you’re wrong.
You dare not approach a mega boss until you have these weapons...

lets be honest here, the most iconic final weapon has to be the terra blade. I don't care if it's not even the final weapon, it was in it's prime.
I really liked how 13 handled it, allowing for a player to customise their characters stats a bit more via weapon upgrades feels good imo
There are two versions, but the ultimate version has a godly blue shine).

in ff1 monk fist were stronger than any character weapon at lvl 50, ifu play the game that lets u grind to lvl 100 it becomes even stronger
I do admit i miss the whole ultimate weapon sidequest some games used to have and how it ties to a personal narative arc sometimes to a main character. It did get lost in time past the 2010s era.
It was so enjoyable to grind for 12's ultimate weapons like Wyrmhero blade
Lulus Onion Knight is my favorite because I never thought I could dodge lightning 200 times to get it and I may never do it again...
@Otacon464 Ha! Catharsis... Good stuff. I hear your point. Suppose that is another way to look at it. :-) Cheers!

When I saw the Wyrmhero Blade, the first thing I thought of was the Super Sword Of Light from Dragon Quest.

After FF7, FF8 is my favorite. Junction system was just amazing AND I hope it’s the next remake
Good game but the junction system imo was one of the worst aspects about the game. And squall.
