Great video, although I personally would have added some backtracking to also get all the Jecht Spheres for Auron to unlock his skills earlier... not that Auron will fight a lot, but his break-all Overdrive might come in handy in some boss battles.
I wonder why everyone hates the laughing scene. It was meant to be cringy. Wakka even acknowledged it by going "we were wondering if you two might have gone crazy".
@Ricky Nelson if you think it’s a bad scene it’s simply because you don’t understand what makes good storytelling, that scene alone has like 3 or 4 themes ongoing through it, plus it is literally used as a tension break since you just got the second biggest exposition dump of the game, which involves him learning he’s never going home, and the monster that commits genocide for the luls is his dad. Anyway, if it wasn’t a good scene people wouldn’t still talk about it or try and defend it at all lol.
I respect your grind patience. I've played ffx start to finish at least 20 times since it came out. One of my favorite games that never loses value of fun for me. I always imagine & theorize doing grinds like these, but I just don't have the patience, time, or will power to do them myself. So I appreciate your work showing the results. It's also nice to see others who truly understand all the mechanics of this game. Most people beat the game without even realizing the insane depth of mechanics put into this ff title. Hell, most people I've talked to about this game completely ignored Yuna's strength stat because they didn't realize Aeons stats scale off of hers. This game was truly a work of art, & thank you for exploring every little corner of it to share with us.
@@Vulgarth1 They do! It was a total game changer when I figured it out. Now I typically get Yuna on Aurons sphere grid asap, & use all HP & Strength spheres on her. I put Kimahri on Yuna's original path to make him the main healer until late game. You will get over powered Aeons pretty early this way.
@grandrapids6296 if you trained in each place you visit 15-25 times you'll be at max stats by around 80 hrs. i'm just now at 111 hrs on steam, 97 and some change in game hours. and i just maxed my strength, defense and magic max at 255. and im also on expert sphere grid mode so its "imo" easier to max out. ive made it to the tower of dead, i got all the weapons, fought 3 or 4 dark aeons, and have been getting all the achievements. i have penance, genesis, jecht and yu yevon left. then max sphere grids achievement wise left. . which will just take time fighting in the beastmaster arena. love this game too!
I've had complaints for being too long. No one can handle it... you hear it's a good thing but it's really not if there's no pond that can fit your fish
When I played ffx, I made it my rule that I had to gain 10 sphere levels for all characters any time I got into a new camera angle. A bit of a grind, but it was hilarious when I would drop bosses in 5 turns or less.
@megasxlr2 You weirdo. I usually played with the AI. Step 1: Start with the ball or steal the ball. Step 2: Make a 9almost guaranteed goal with Jecht Shot. Step 3: Steal the ball again and swim behind your goalie. Now watch the computer swim in circles and get an easy win.
.....i can easily do 450 blitzball matches. I've spent so much time playing that I never got other players on the team and was unstoppable. There's times I play ffx just to play blitz
i just love it when tidus has such a high basic attack early in the game, he can oneshot the armour enemies on mi-hen street and just when auron was about to lecture you to show off how strong he is, he doesnt even bother to make a comment about you killing it anymore. its the same with messing up lulus and wakkas attacks and spells on the wrong enemies, just to make them shut up, so they wont lecture you anymore for doing it faster your way.
@@lilchristuten7568 Can tell you must have never played Final Fantasy X, or if you did, you didn't pay much attention to what your characters were saying in battle. In FFX, early on in the game the characters are type-cast, meaning they have specific strengths and weaknesses. These strengths and weaknesses are largely irrelevant later on in the game as any one of your characters can potentially learn and use all the other abilities/weapon types after you get Rikku's customizing and gain enough sphere levels/key spheres. Early on, Auron was meant to take on heavily armored creatures because his katana had the piercing ability, meaning it ignored the opposing creatures high defense and did normal damage to it, like the Shred, for instance. The Shred was a high defense, low HP creature who, if you tried to attack it with magic or a weapon without piercing, you weren't going to do much damage to it and it would take several hits to kill. If you made the mistake of attacking such a creature with Tidus, either Auron, Lulu, or Wakka would tell you to "Leave those to Sir Auron," or something similar. In that same fashion, Wakka was meant to handle flying fiends because his accuracy rating is higher than everyone else's. If you tried to attack a small flyer with Tidus early on, you'd likely miss and either Wakka or Lulu would remind you to let Wakka handle it. What's more is that Lulu was meant to handle magical elementals. If you attacked one of them with Tidus, then either Wakka or Lulu would remind you to let Lulu handle it. Tidus was meant more for the quicker fiends, like the wolves or non-armored lizards that had a high agility stat, because Tidus' agility stat was high to match. Like I said though, later on in the game (especially after getting the airship), this stopped mattering as much because the characters stopped having such pronounced shortcomings, provided you leveled them up properly and customized their weapons.
@@james_ford86 I was saying what to him saying intentionally messing up Lulu and Wakka's spells and attacks will make them shut up so you can kill the enemies faster.
@@lilchristuten7568 That's not what he was saying. He was saying that, if you did grind like the guy in the video did, getting strength spheres and a bunch of sphere levels, then Tidus' strength would be so high that it wouldn't matter if he attacked a Shred or Elemental. He'd still one-shot it, which would stop Lulu, Wakka, or Auron from saying anything like they normally would otherwise.
I did the beginning of this video with a couple of changes. I found out 100% that A:Wakka doesn't have to be in battles to advance his reels in blitzball, and B: it starts counting battles from the beginning of the game. Knowing this, instead of getting Blitz Ace on the ship with infinite spawning scales, I just did a ton of battles off of the Al Bhed ship with Rikku. This basically let me get Blitz Ace a bit earlier, and primed me for the 450 battles so that I didn't have to stop playing blitzball to advance Wakka's overdrives. After i got my 6 teleport spheres (with 18 return spheres because i'm an overachiever and tied 3 ways on top scorer with Tidus/Wedge/Zev Ronso) I stopped resetting my data and I just restarted the game if the league didn't give the prize I wanted. I think I had to do one extra league, but it was worth it to not reset level 30 blitzball players.
I never understood why the hell you should reset blitzball. Especially as a competionist when you got the OG Aurochs and got all key technics and aiming for Auroch Spirits!
@@callmeshaggy5166 i mean, if you don't give a shit about actually playing blitzball and just hide in the corner, anyway, yeah, doesn't really matter if you constantly reset.
@@KeithElliott-zd8cx i mean i just make one goal and if i am ahead i just get the ball back and swim behind my goalie. it screws with their AI and they go back to their starting positions and just swim in a circle. then I just wait out the timer to win the game. unless you need points in the games for wakka you can just you this method and you dont have to deal with the utter garbage bullshit AI that the game has. I mean seriously the game is rigged against you not only with your shit team but also the fact that your teams AI is dogshit compared to the enemy. you can swim away from the enemy and if they are just outside of your range they will get you. and if you spend a full second even trying to get past them and are still in their range they stop you again. but if you are literally touching their backs as you chase them across the map they will go half the map before they get stopped. this load of clear rigged bs is dumb. dont even get me started on the chocobo race with the extreme janky controls. when they remastered the game they should have fixed that shit for anolog and made it so the chocobo does not force you to turn if you touch the edge of the race track but instead just runs into it. you would actually have control over it and it would be a fair race and not an RNG shit show. the lighting dodges can die in a hole. i aint touching that shit.
At 9:05, do not reset data if you want to keep your player stats. You can just reset the game (hold LB+RB+the two buttons that represent select and start), reload the game, and the prizes will change. It does taker longer than just resetting data, but if you want keep your player stats, it is worth it.
yea but i feel 23 minutes is a little "heavy" where it can become abit of a chore to watch. Like 10 minutes or so you can watch inbetween things but 23 minutes you pretty much have to dedicate the time to watch the whole thing if that makes sense?
@@Primalliquid92 what? I'm bingewatching your videos xD Some watch game of thrones and stuff and others like gaming related content. Even more if it's that well made 👍
I have never seen another man who can grind the way this guy does. Holy crap. I don't know it there's another man on youtube who can break a game quite the way this man does.
oh yes that lightning dodging was annoying. Did it back then on ps2, then after years it came out on ps3; got the platinum there, then saw it was on ps4; got the platinum there as well. If they ever release it on ps5 i'm jumping out of the window lol
With the lightning dodges Ive cracked it so its super easy. When you first enter an area with lightning it doesnt start striking until you walk a few steps in. So you take small steps till you see the first flash and when you jump back they dont come again till you edge forward a step once again and then *boom* jump back into the safe zone again. This way you know when its coming and it never catches you out. Repeat and rinse. 100% works.
There's an easier and faster way...just find the crater south of travel agency and run in a Small tight circle around the two small circles on the ground in the ground and run back into the crater, and thunder comes at the crater without fail.. You can get 200 dodges In a few mins.
PSA, you do not NEED to kill Chocobo Eater by pushing him off the cliff. You can get the two lvl 1 key spheres prior to the fight. There is an NPC on the road before the travel agency that gives one and you get another for a tutorial, which you can opt out of by saying yes when asked about reading instructions.
Fun little exploit (this will increase time taken to grind overdrives): after you battle a group of piranhas you can swim back to the ocean surface and return to the ship, once there the grunt on the back left gives you a stack of 3 potions when you talk to him. You just need to fight a minimum of 1 mob between talking to him and it resets. So if you want to go back after each fight and get a stack then save or go back after each time of using an overdrive ( what i did) its an easy way to grind potions early game, just time consuming.
Primalliquid FFX BEFORE Shiva insane super grind hints and tips Tips: better with PC/Steam version in mind with 4x speed ability. Other versions times listed when described in video. Apart from Blitzball grinding for customizable abilities, it would take about 42 hours on PC to do pretty much all the below with the speed booster and 75 without, according to Primal. Zanerkand Tutorial / Start of game: - Faint Auron - Tidus learns Slayer & Loner OverDrive modes - Attack just the back 2 Sinspawns, - 60 turns leanrs Loner - 100 kills Slayer Tidus Overdrive Grinding (Switch to Loner) - Water Temple where Tidus lands, start grinding - 10 times for Slice and Dice - 30 times for Energy Rain - 80 times for Blitz Ace Rikku Ocean (Switch Tidus OD to Slayer) - Learn Slice & Dice - Steal Grenades Besaid Shop (after returning after leaving village first time) - Sell Grenades & Potions stock for Gil - Shopkeeper says her dog has Valefor’s second OD. Dog in top right house in Village After battle tutorials on Besaid Island - Go to save point before boat and go back 2 screens to long straight - Grind Tidus until he learns Haste SS LIKI BOAT SUPER GRIND - FARM XP, GIL & ITEMS - Set Slayer for Tidus BEFORE BATTLE if you haven’t yet - PRIME BLITZ ACE GRIND SPOT - Start battle with Tidus, Lulu & Yuna. Defend a turn each then swap in girls for Wakka & Kimahri - Infinitely Sinspawn… spawning - Tidus Hastes himself then Cheers party 5 times for maximum Attack buff then Haste Wakka & Kimahri - Party is now buffed up to one-shot Sinspawn for Overkill usually and you can never die because you out speed them - 2 xp per kill/3 xp per OK. 6-9 xp per set of Sinspawn. 16 sets in 1 minute according to Primal on PC, so 96 xp per minute, 5760 xp per hour - depending on OKs (Consoles = 4 sets per min = 24 xp per min, 1440 xp per hour - depending on OKs) - Can grind up to Blitz Ace for Tidus - An OD every 5 sets of Sinspawn. 400 sets of Sinspawn for 80 Tidus OD gets Blitz Ace (not counting for previously used ODs) - You can grind for as long as you like. Stick a movie/TV boxset/YT playlist on and keep pressing X/Confirm button whilst you keep racking up kills. - Turbo Controller helps. Can leave over night or all day with this method. Overnight boosted turbo nets Primal 99 Sphere levels and over 750,000 gil. Approx. 45 hours for console version for same results approx. Sphere Grid level up what to do - Obviously you won’t have enough stat spheres etc. yet but you have the levels if you so wish. - Send Kimahri towards Rikku’s grid and don’t use anymore of his levels yet. Same for Yuna to Cura and stopping there. Other 3 members feel free to use them all. Tidus & Wakka should be at the end and Lulu is one sphere off Flare if you want to get Demi OR get Flare. Kilika Forest - OK Lord Ochu for 2 HP or MP Spheres (Highest tiers) Boat to Luca - Get Jecht Shot Luca - Dock to the right of the registration desk. Go to the end and around the back to find HP & Magic Sphere (Highest tiers) - Win the Blitzball game against the Goers. Win a Strength Sphere (Highest tier)(If you’re struggle to win against the higher ability of Goers, sneak a goal quickly, get possession again and hide behind your keeper in the goal) After leaving Luca - INSANE TIME CONSUMING BLITZBALL ITEM GRIND (Do not do if you value free time; Primal puts it at 1000 hours for 99x items etc. BUT Return Spheres, Teleport Spheres, Wakka’s overdrives and Jupiter Sigil) - THIS DOES TAKE A LONG TIME. Matches are about 15 minutes long with set up and half time. There are 10 matches in a season. If you keep winning matches though, you should be able to foreit the last two saving 30 minutes to win a season. - Prizes set up - Teleport Sphere for winning league and Return Sphere for top goalscorer. If not there, reset data. Prizes change. Save when they’re there. - Players set up - Sign Jamal (city square on the left sitting on a bench with the bar in the background), Wedge (to the right just behind the Blitzball registration desk), & Zev Ronso (right side dock from blitzball registration desk). Limit of 8 players on a team, release Keepa. Sign to 10 game contract because that’s how long a season lasts and you will be resetting data constantly to get correct prizes losing these guys from your team. Set up Blitzball team in order of Tidus, Wedge, Zev, Jassu, Botta & Jamal (goalkeeper). (THERE ARE better players you can get but because resetting data constantly, it’s better to keep Jassu and Botta as they are good enough at these low levels) - Items to aim for when data resetting the league - Teleport Sphere*, Return Sphere*, Lvl 1. Key spheres, Dark Matter & Megaelixirs (* - Most valuable item to get here, others not so much) - Top Goalscorer note - You can have 2 (maybe more but it’s difficult to balance getting more than 2 winners) Top Goalscorers so you can win double the prize (so 2 Return spheres etc.) - Aim for at least 6 Teleport Spheres & 7 Return Spheres (Details below) - Wakka’s ODs & Sigil - Check the prizes for Tournament. If it is greyed out, back out and reenter until available. First time should always be Attack Reels. Now, go fight 250 battles on Mi’hen Highroad (Wakka may have to be in the party - Primal not sure after his research so err on side of caution and use him). Now the next league prize should be Status Reels. Win that. Then fight another 200 battles to have Auroch Reels unlock. After this, 50% chance of the Jupiter Sigil available as a League prize. - You are now done with Wakka items with Blitzball… BUT you can aim for 99x Teleport Spheres, 99x Return spheres, 99x Dark Matter, 99x Megaelixirs, 99x Underdark Secrets, 99x 3 Stars, 99x Luck Spheres, 11x Lvl. 1 Keyspheres… BUT these are all prizes for winning the league (apart from Return spheres)… 605 Leagues at 1311 hours or 55 days… No point. You can have a 100% game instead FIFTEEN (15) TIMES instead during this period. Best to stick with the 18 hours or so to set up for the next section and grab Wakka’s items with the battles included BUT BUT BUT if you would like awesome customizable abilities early when Rikku joins the party… well I don’t blame you Mi’hen Highroad - Push Chocobo Eater off the cliff; better prizes - 2x Lvl. 1 Key Spheres. - Tidus & Wakka attack, Lulu uses Fire (low level) magic & Yuna spams healing to Chocobo Eater Sphere Grid with Teleport Spheres and Return Spheres
- With your new Lvl. 1 Key Spheres, finally put Kimahri on Rikku’s path for Steal & Use - With Kimahri’s new Steal & Use abilities, have Yuna, Tidus & Wakka learn them by using Teleport Spheres (3 TpS). - Use those HP, MP, Magic and Strength Spheres and have the four character use them. - Send Tidus, Wakka & Yuna back to their own grids if they have not completed them with Return Spheres (3x RS). Have Kimahri keep going on Rikku’s path to learn Mug. Have Tidus & Wakka Teleport Sphere (+2 TpS = 5) to learn these too then back again (+2x RS = 5). - Use Return Sphere (+1x RS = 6) on Kimahri to get back to the Lvl. 2 Key Sphere node next to Steal & Use so we can get Holy at Macalania. He does need 38 LEVELS to get there so bare in mind although Primal grinds in Thunder Plains. - If you went overboard on the boat leveling and Lulu learned the -aga/high tier magic spells, you can have Yuna Teleport there (+1 TpS = 6), learn them, get Flare along the path also, then use a Return sphere (+1x RS = 7) to send Yuna back on her path to use up her levels. Yuna has better magic & agility stats than Lulu so a better black mage. Djose Temple - Use the Destruction Sphere to get the treasure of another Magic Sphere. Useful for Yuna & Kimahri when you get a Lvl. 2 Key Sphere Guadosalem - Rikku joins the party and now you can customize weapons and armour. - 1 Return Sphere = First Strike on a weapon - 20 Megaelixirs = Double AP on a weapon - 30 Underdark Secrets = Double Overdrive - 99 Dark Matters = Ribbon on Armour (Stops all status effects except for Curse) - 60 Dark Matters = Break Damage Limit on Weapon - 20 3 Stars = 1 MP on Weapon Thunder Plains - Pray to first three Cactaur statues and fight the Cactaurs to grab items to customize MP Stroll for Yuna & Kimahri (since they’ll burn through MP quickly) - Make sure Kimahri is at 38 level spheres as Thunder Plains is a better place to level up than the next area - Lightening Dodges for rewards outside Rin’s (If you go for it now, give the Strength spheres to Tidus but save the rest for later) - 5x 2 X-Potions 10x 2 Mega-Potions 20x 2 MP Spheres 50x 3 Strength Spheres 100x 3 HP Spheres 200x Venus Sigil Macalania Forest - Overkill Spheremorph boss for 2x Lvl 2. Key Spheres - Use it to unlock the Lvl. 2 Key Sphere by Steal & Use and send Kimahri down Yuna’s grid to learn DeSpell, Curaga & Holy. You can fill in with Magic, MP & HP Spheres.
i have just read the entire thing and my god. im crazy for making the video, but you sir are crazy for typing it all up. Damn good formatting though i have to admit
I did something in X-2 overnight to max all the white mage skills or something. You can just sit there at the beginning of the game and pray forever, never die, and gain all the ability points to max everything and get Holy. Good fun.
I trained Lulu to know level 3 or -aga spells before the first Seymour fight. Needless to say it was very satisfying ripping him and his guado twinks to shreds with Lulu xD
@@Tommoslasguitaros it took a very long time, I think the game file time was maxed out when I stopped. I pretty much just grinded against Riku and Waka over and over.
This is insane to me!!!! I am not a gamer at all, but I loved final fantasy X. I finished and started over like 5 times each time getting better and better. When u showed the sphere grid completely lit up after beside I just started laughing how freakin crazy that seems. Great job on this video and doing all that work
I used to love blitzball, but after 20 playthroughs of this game, I try to avoid it as much as possible hahaha! Wakka always misses out. I just fly through the game, get to the item customizations and get everyone elses ultimate weapons. Lightning and butterflies are nothing compared to that BB grind.
there is a guide that if you follow it only takes 26 BB games and you have everything for wakka, i know i used to love BB back when the game first came out, now though i avoid it like you, three hours of BB or grinding 10+ hours to get break dmg limit and everything else for customizing a weapon for him. i mean he is the strongest if you discount anima's overdrive and not modding the game
dude the amount of time you put into this is super impressive. even all the grinding aside you still had to learn all this and plan it out, big props to you ill Hella engage with this post for just the sheer effort put into presenting this to us. thank for all the tips!
I had a friend that spent time in the thunder plains until he maxed out everyone's "personal" sphere grid. I couldn't understand why he was wasting all that time when you can train infinitely faster in the Calm lands or all the levels you get in Bevelle.
Me and my bro used to do they sin scale farm for hours, dude I mean hours..one night we seriously spent 8hrs grinding sin scales, its stupid . I'm glad u put this vid up.
"What if we don't really like your HOW OVERPOWERED videos but just want you to waste your life grinding for our own amusement?" Firstly that will be a joke and secondly, we appreciate every single sec you spend your time in doing this and recording this content. Keep up the great job bruh
Im actually going to be playing on and off and following your lead. already started in dream zanarkand, al bhed ship, besaid, ss liki, and kilika. Your videos are an inspiration, Primal. Until I came upon your channel, I thought me and my best friend were the only ones to be true grinders. I basically did what you did in DZ, the al bhed ship and ss liki. but I used all the potions to heal Tidus and Wakka when they're underwater in besaid grinding and sold all the grenades for early gil. then after liki I thought it would be cool if I finished Tidus, Lulu, Yuna, and Wakka's paths in kilika woods(regardless of advisability) and got Kimahri a truckload of sphere levels while positioning him near the level 1 locks on Rikku's path. so far Tidus and Lulu are finished. Yuna isnt too far from Holy. and Wakka is only about 20 levels away from being done with his path. then I figure I'll get jecht shot(which is hard for me honestly), win the goers game and get started on blitz as I like it a great deal too(but am not used to not using brother, naida, and nimrook so that'll be new) and grind for an even longer time in Mi'ihen thanks to teleport spheres. and then do Rikku's full path and then some in thunder plains which I used to grind my ps3 playthru(this is on ps4 btw). when it comes to pure grinding I have a lot of patience but I learned a lot from you and once again just wanna say thanks for the *exteremely* valuable information.
Want an insane grind? You can basically become almost Max powered for a 500 hour rpg before the first chapter of Tactics Ogre LUCT. Scaling is insane, especially for Archers, plus you can get two of the 3 best archers within 15 minutes. The scaling is hilarious because they kind of didn't expect archers to get past damage threshold for some reason. Random drops scale up, so you can get some end game gear on the very first map, plus 3 stacks of +40-45% (Proficiency, Anatomy, Augment) damage, 15-25% off their bow, and the bow further gets extra scaling from the Augment above. In short, they are functionally running around double firing rocket launchers, and nothing can touch them. (You can even train them as other classes for even more bonus damage, making them about 15% stronger every time they Max a class). You can just leave them on AI control, and nothing should even be able to land a hit after a few fights. It's hilarious, especially because so many reviews call this game hard.
its kinda funny, that qoute from seymour is because the Devs expected you to use an aeon to defeat anima, and because seymour knows the truth about the final aeon his qoute is actually all about him wanting the power of an aeon, to be yuna's final aeon. so the fact we dont use an aeon and just defeat it normally it completely changes the context of those 5 simple words.
You should have beaten him with valifor xD. Be like well...if you talked to the lady at the store and pet her dog instead of walking past everyone you would already have it. Lol
@@plaguis1391 she was saying it would make more sense to be Tide-us despite it actually being tee-dus. We fucking know it's canonically tee-dus because Japan loves fucking trolling good names. Just look at Aeris being changed to Aerith
for those that see this, where I'm from, back in 2011, I was in a car with a friend when this ad starts playing on the radio. in this ad was the sad FFX music from the start menu playing in the background. this ad was for a pill to help with erectile disfunction. it was the funniest thing I ever heard on the radio.
Only other thing after Spheremorph is to run ALLLLLLLLLLLLLL the way back to Besaid and grab the spheres to unlock Auron's Overdrives along the way or on the way back to the forest.
@Lionhart Yep! You just have to do it before actually starting the Macalania stuff - once you go past Rin's lodge you're locked off until getting the airship.
I'm glad someone mentioned this, though I thought you could only go back as far as the entrance to the Thunder Plains? At least I seem to recall that's how it was in the original, not sure if that changed in other versions. And I think the last one was up on Gagazet, so you can't get that until later.
Hawk of Battle you can go all the way back as long as you do it after the Sephimorph boss fight. If you progress the story in the next area then you can’t go further than the Thunder Plains.
“I’m not going to say teedus because it sounds stupid” literally 5 seconds later, says teedus lmao. Also dude, don’t worry about the length. A lot of us like these longer videos when they’re quality like this.
Fun fact: if you're playing on the Steam version and launch the game Big Picture mode, you can set up auto-fire on that*. Worked a treat for me on that one part of FFIX on disc 2. *Definitely works with an Xbox controller, most likely also works with keyboard input but haven't tried it.
I got all of Tidus’ overdrives when I met Rikku cause I was farming for ability spheres after I noticed that the piranhas sometimes drops them. I was grinding so long that I even got to lvl up Rikku on the sphere grid 😆
That what I like to do, after a while. With Slayer Overdrive mode, that almost guarantees you'd have Blitz Ace, by that point. That I move Tidus on the Grid as needed during that grind only makes things a little better. Minimum 50 Ability Spheres, gunning for 99. And I'm doing it on a PS2. At that point, I have 3 goals: Blitz Ace, 50-99 Ability Spheres, and Rikku levels up once. I'll move on when I have 2/3 of those goals. It's a long grind that takes hours, a bit longer, when you take into account that I'm move Tidus and activating nodes along the way.
I stat maxed the first time through this game when it came out. As fun as lulu's onion knight hitting broken 9s is, I found it less satisfying at the end. Gotta say though this guide is giving me the itch to play it again! Might pick up the switch version and use some of the tips here. Didn't realize you could get Valefor's second overdrive right away like that!
This is insane, I love it. The most I did different my current playthrough is rotate everyone every fight and it made things so much easier; I can't imagine doing all this but I absolutely love it
I'm really enjoying these grind videos as this is literally all I did when I was a kid once I figured out you could grind and manipulate it after multiple plays. So many fond memories, thanks for this series man!!!
Ffx is my favorite ff game. I'm good at it. Not the best, but I was up there. You showed me what a true gamer was like. You've got my deepest respect and humbled me as I'm playing the HD remaster right now and am in endgame still grinding. Keep up the solid work.
So a lot of these I knew already, but in addition, the albhed boat that you dive off of to investigate machina ruins you can infinitely gain potions by talking to one of the albhed's, by going a screen away then proceeding back, easy x99 potions early game. Also with my latest playthrough, I got bored enough to get x60 sphere levels and blitz ace for tidus on the boat to kilika xD....
I subscribed because you also say Tide-us instead of Teed-us. And also because (even though I listen to anime and japanese games in japanese)Tide-us is objectively the better way to say his name in general. It also makes sense metaphorically as well.
One thing I think breaks the game wide open early: Give Yuna Lancet, Steal, and Use. She becomes so fundamentally powerful, between her magic stat and gains, and access to the Use items, that her low HP is practically restored every time you use Lancet.
Primal Liquid in 2019 : playing around to become OP in early game Speedrunners in 2020 : Develop Yuna's sphere grid in fastest time possible to make Bahamut oneshot Seymour and Yunalesca plus can be progress further for strongest Anima, easy monster capture, monster arena, and early dark aeons... Nothing personal but always great to see every player found things even in this year....
@@nickpatrick7021 what was intresting was he is harder when you fight the brothers. The first time I never used him so the fight was so easy. The next time I made him amazing and the fight was very hard.
I was able to beat the game handedly with the NUL spells, Zombie Attack (for the final boss), and then Yojimbo for the majority of the end game. What a game. Still holds up in 2022.
honestly "Tie"dus is really the perfect pronunciation since the game is themed with ocean and mostly water It connects him to Tides since he came from a place on the sea and play blitzball Teedus sounds tedious.
The voice actor for his character said that someone had mispronounced it or it was a translation error (not sure now) but they basically just kinda went with it. He explains it in a UA-cam video though and I highly recommend checking out what he says about that and the “ha ha ha” scene.
Did not know you could do all of this on FFX. Just bought the remastered games on Steam for my laptop. Gonna have a normal run through first then gonna try and see how strong I can get. Cheers boss!
I did this year's ago, got tidus to max level on level 1 piranhas when you jump off the boat. Saddest time of my life but I'm content in knowing that i managed to do it.
For those who have the switch version be warned, since it doesn’t have battle speed modifier like pc the grind will take far longer. 45 hours of grinding will net you around 56 levels so having a turbo controller is a must.
oXBloodLordXo always the thing that pissed me off most about the HD versions on PS4. VII, VIII, IX, XII TZA all have speed ups and it makes such a difference. Given the amount of running north there is in this game it would have been incredible to have a speed up
@@Bowhuntingskills It's the same for the Switch versions of VII - X/X-2 and XII: TZA. All but X/X-2 have speed boosters, and VII - IX have battle boosters and no random encounters options...e-mailed SE for a third time about this crap...
Primalliquid: Don't grind Blitzball more than you need to Also Primalliquid: I did 3 Blitzball leagues and 450 battles to get the Jupiter Sigil, but it's totally irrelevant for this video.
well its all about getting Overpowered and the main thing here was Wakka's overdrive, but once you get the final one you might aswell just do 1 more leagie to get the sigil done and out of the way.
in the end, if you want wakkas full solaris weapon, you need to get those overdrives anyways, since the sigil only appears after his 4th overdrive as a prize, so might as well do it early to get it over with and never touch blitzball again afterwards
At first I was sad that I was the only person that loved Blitzball so much that I would want it as a separate game. But now I'm feeling a bit blessed that I don't see it as a chore like everyone else.
Yeah man i just did the first game a few days ago and i had to retry 50 times to get that strength sphere. And i gave it to tidus who spends most his time casting haste 🤷♂️
I actually wished it was longer. You just gave me a GINORMOUS excuse to start over, after I just got the airship. But I'm gonna grind that early boss level, with Sin's fin..
@@CErra310 Usualky 100% speedruns like ff7 ff8 and other rpgs, its relaxing to have running in the background and learn something new about what you missed or how crazy it can get to archieve something. Ff10 nemesis% is 26 hours for example but amazing to see
"If you're on console, you don't have access to speed booster." (Weeps in PS2&Vita) -mid 2020 EDIT 6/2021 ...and Switch) My Vita died just after I posted this. 30 hours of early grind wasted. Started a new game on Switch. This was the game which prompts a Switch turbo/auto controller, so you can let it run for a week on the Liki. (I've had turbos since SNES.). It makes other games sooooo much easier, just from random CRAP you can't hold a button for.
I would like to see someone go through the game using physical attacks only, or using magic only where it is not possible to advance without. Using only tidus, auron and kimahri.
Valefor having a second Overdrive always seemed weird to me. Like, this was once going to be a game mechanic for all summons, but they scrapped it mid-development. Also, as a sidenote: Everytime you say Tidus, something in me dies. Screaming.
You see, my thought was that Valefor kinda falls off in usefulness after awhile... Like, once you had some of the higher level aeons, Valefor is only useful as a meat shield, in comparison. I always thought that was why Valefor got the extra overdrive... to keep up, with the likes of Bahamut and Shiva, especially since it was Yuna's first Aeon, and the culmination of all her years training to be a summoner. Of course, you're also not supposed to go back to Besaid so soon, as far as the story goes, and the trigger to make it appear probably was just like "Yeah, as soon as the party leaves, they don't have a reason to come back, so.... just put it in now, so we don't forget, later, when the get the airship."
I feel like I gotta ask, was it worth it? I know oneshoting some of the harder early bosses must have been cathartic but even not doing the blitzball stuff, (and I enjoyed blitzball but not enough to do that grind) it feels like it should've been a horrible experience. Although I gotta admit I would love to one shot Seymour with flare and I popped huge for that part of the video. To be fair though I'm gonna get slayer and loner in the prologue and slice and dice early also. I didn't ever think to do that there cause you dont get exp for those fights so I just raced through them.
Great video, I admire and respect the patience you have to do this! I've seen this video about 6 times now and I plan to try it out when I replay FFX soon. I do have a request though - could you do the same video but without all the blitzball? 😅 I seriously suck at that minigame
Best overdrive ability is the taking turns one. As all you have to do is spam your turn and you get overdrive it's great for tidus as he is the fastest character for quite awhile and he even learns haste as well.

I played this game to death when it came out. Have many fond memories playing this when it came out on the PS2. Such a great sorry and first time FF had voice actors
@@pst5345 The voice acting is actually pretty great and the laugh scene is a testament to that. Since the laugh is SUPPOSED to sound bad, because it is a FAKE laugh. They even say this in the cutscene before Tidus does the laugh and after him and Yuna do their fake laughs for a minute, they break down into actual, genuine laughter.
@@ballom101 the voice acting is stiff, not engaging at all. this scene adds to that. This game has a nice story and fleshed out characters. However the way they are fleshed out and develop is functipnal at best instead of engaging.
@@pst5345 I'm going to have to respectfully disagree. There are times where it feels somewhat stiff, yes. But there are far more points where the acting is on point. I also have to disagree, many of the characters do develop in engaging ways. Such as how we learn more and more about the world of Spira through Tidus because he is just as new to that world as us. So it feels like we are learning about that world right alongside Tidus. The undertones to Wakka's character development are also rather engaging, watching him go from a damn near zealot to understanding other cultures and how Yevon isn't compatible with them and how in the case of the Al Bhed, screwed them over pretty hard. But again, respectfully disagree and say to each their own.

The same thing with dancing Tobey
I love that scene. Thats when everything really started developing.
@Ken Caisse well I was there when you were made and I can assure you, you weren’t meant to be cringe either, funny how that works out though

Aeons scale off Yuna's strength?? I've played this game ten times over and never knew!
@@Vulgarth1 They do! It was a total game changer when I figured it out.

What?
@@james_ford86
I was saying what to him saying intentionally messing up Lulu and Wakka's spells and attacks will make them shut up so you can kill the enemies faster.
So many people just advise to reset data for tournaments. Yeah do that if you want your team destroyed and abilities forgotten.
Fully ridiculous. Respect for being ridiculous.
At 9:05, do not reset data if you want to keep your player stats. Last time i played this i did the lightning. The str bonus was too good.
Definitely butterfly's
oh yes that lightning dodging was annoying. Did it back then on ps2, then after years it came out on ps3; got the platinum there, then saw it was on ps4; got the platinum there as well. If they ever release it on ps5 i'm jumping out of the window lol
There is a trick in lightning dodge, making it very easy actually
This was the method I used as well :-)
@@theworldlywarrior This is what I ended up using.
PSA, you do not NEED to kill Chocobo Eater by pushing him off the cliff. You can get the two lvl 1 key spheres prior to the fight.
You don't even have to fight anything you just have to dive down to where it goes into the next area and then come back
you can also kick the basket on the boat to luca to get infinite potions.
Primalliquid FFX BEFORE Shiva insane super grind hints and tips
Tips: better with PC/Steam version in mind with 4x speed ability. Other versions times listed when described in video. Apart from Blitzball grinding for customizable abilities, it would take about 42 hours on PC to do pretty much all the below with the speed booster and 75 without, according to Primal.
Zanerkand Tutorial / Start of game:
- Faint Auron
- Tidus learns Slayer & Loner OverDrive modes - Attack just the back 2 Sinspawns, - 60 turns leanrs Loner - 100 kills Slayer
Tidus Overdrive Grinding (Switch to Loner)
- Water Temple where Tidus lands, start grinding
- 10 times for Slice and Dice
- 30 times for Energy Rain
- 80 times for Blitz Ace
Rikku Ocean (Switch Tidus OD to Slayer)
- Learn Slice & Dice
- Steal Grenades
Besaid Shop (after returning after leaving village first time)
- Sell Grenades & Potions stock for Gil
- Shopkeeper says her dog has Valefor’s second OD. Dog in top right house in Village
After battle tutorials on Besaid Island
- Go to save point before boat and go back 2 screens to long straight
- Grind Tidus until he learns Haste
SS LIKI BOAT SUPER GRIND - FARM XP, GIL & ITEMS
- Set Slayer for Tidus BEFORE BATTLE if you haven’t yet - PRIME BLITZ ACE GRIND SPOT
- Start battle with Tidus, Lulu & Yuna. Defend a turn each then swap in girls for Wakka & Kimahri
- Infinitely Sinspawn… spawning
- Tidus Hastes himself then Cheers party 5 times for maximum Attack buff then Haste Wakka & Kimahri
- Party is now buffed up to one-shot Sinspawn for Overkill usually and you can never die because you out speed them
- 2 xp per kill/3 xp per OK. 6-9 xp per set of Sinspawn. 16 sets in 1 minute according to Primal on PC, so 96 xp per minute, 5760 xp per hour - depending on OKs (Consoles = 4 sets per min = 24 xp per min, 1440 xp per hour - depending on OKs)
- Can grind up to Blitz Ace for Tidus - An OD every 5 sets of Sinspawn. 400 sets of Sinspawn for 80 Tidus OD gets Blitz Ace (not counting for previously used ODs)
- You can grind for as long as you like.
Sphere Grid level up what to do
- Obviously you won’t have enough stat spheres etc. yet but you have the levels if you so wish.
Kilika Forest
- OK Lord Ochu for 2 HP or MP Spheres (Highest tiers)
Boat to Luca
- Get Jecht Shot
Luca
- Dock to the right of the registration desk. Go to the end and around the back to find HP & Magic Sphere (Highest tiers)
- Win the Blitzball game against the Goers. Win a Strength Sphere (Highest tier)(If you’re struggle to win against the higher ability of Goers, sneak a goal quickly, get possession again and hide behind your keeper in the goal)
After leaving Luca - INSANE TIME CONSUMING BLITZBALL ITEM GRIND (Do not do if you value free time; Primal puts it at 1000 hours for 99x items etc. BUT Return Spheres, Teleport Spheres, Wakka’s overdrives and Jupiter Sigil)
- THIS DOES TAKE A LONG TIME.
(THERE ARE better players you can get but because resetting data constantly, it’s better to keep Jassu and Botta as they are good enough at these low levels)
- Items to aim for when data resetting the league - Teleport Sphere*, Return Sphere*, Lvl 1. Key spheres, Dark Matter & Megaelixirs (* - Most valuable item to get here, others not so much)
- Top Goalscorer note - You can have 2 (maybe more but it’s difficult to balance getting more than 2 winners) Top Goalscorers so you can win double the prize (so 2 Return spheres etc.)
- Aim for at least 6 Teleport Spheres & 7 Return Spheres (Details below)
- Wakka’s ODs & Sigil - Check the prizes for Tournament.
Best to stick with the 18 hours or so to set up for the next section and grab Wakka’s items with the battles included BUT BUT BUT if you would like awesome customizable abilities early when Rikku joins the party… well I don’t blame you
Mi’hen Highroad
- Push Chocobo Eater off the cliff; better prizes - 2x Lvl. 1 Key Spheres.
- Tidus & Wakka attack, Lulu uses Fire (low level) magic & Yuna spams healing to Chocobo Eater
Sphere Grid with Teleport Spheres and Return Spheres
- With your new Lvl. 1 Key Spheres, finally put Kimahri on Rikku’s path for Steal & Use
- With Kimahri’s new Steal & Use abilities, have Yuna, Tidus & Wakka learn them by using Teleport Spheres (3 TpS).
Djose Temple
- Use the Destruction Sphere to get the treasure of another Magic Sphere. Useful for Yuna & Kimahri when you get a Lvl. 2 Key Sphere
Guadosalem
- Rikku joins the party and now you can customize weapons and armour.
- 1 Return Sphere = First Strike on a weapon
- 20 Megaelixirs = Double AP on a weapon
- 30 Underdark Secrets = Double Overdrive
- 99 Dark Matters = Ribbon on Armour (Stops all status effects except for Curse)
- 60 Dark Matters = Break Damage Limit on Weapon
- 20 3 Stars = 1 MP on Weapon
Thunder Plains
- Pray to first three Cactaur statues and fight the Cactaurs to grab items to customize MP Stroll for Yuna & Kimahri (since they’ll burn through MP quickly)
- Make sure Kimahri is at 38 level spheres as Thunder Plains is a better place to level up than the next area
- Lightening Dodges for rewards outside Rin’s (If you go for it now, give the Strength spheres to Tidus but save the rest for later)
- 5x 2 X-Potions
10x 2 Mega-Potions
20x 2 MP Spheres
50x 3 Strength Spheres
100x 3 HP Spheres
200x Venus Sigil
Macalania Forest
- Overkill Spheremorph boss for 2x Lvl 2. Key Spheres
- Use it to unlock the Lvl. 2 Key Sphere by Steal & Use and send Kimahri down Yuna’s grid to learn DeSpell, Curaga & Holy. You can fill in with Magic, MP & HP Spheres.

I had that stuff max at the beginning of the game I miss those times
I trained Lulu to know level 3 or -aga spells before the first Seymour fight. Needless to say it was very satisfying ripping him and his guado twinks to shreds with Lulu xD

Seymour: That power... will be mine...
Yuna: Imma end this man whole career. *flare casting sound
its kinda funny, that qoute from seymour is because the Devs expected you to use an aeon to defeat anima, and because seymour knows the truth about the final aeon his qoute is actually all about him wanting the power of an aeon, to be yuna's final aeon. so the fact we dont use an aeon and just defeat it normally it completely changes the context of those 5 simple words.
You should have beaten him with valifor xD. Be like well...if you talked to the lady at the store and pet her dog instead of walking past everyone you would already have it. Lol
One shotting Seymour would be dope if it was possible
I can crush Seymour and his goons and take out Anima without a single aiyon.

Only other thing after Spheremorph is to run ALLLLLLLLLLLLLL the way back to Besaid and grab the spheres to unlock Auron's Overdrives along the way or on the way back to the forest.
@Lionhartyes actually. You can backtrack AAAAAAALLLLLLLLL the way back.
That is the hottest thing i ever heard

How is that possible? She can't even get on kimarhi's path without a return sphere and you don't get those until late in the game

Also Primalliquid: I did 3 Blitzball leagues and 450 battles to get the Jupiter Sigil, but it's totally irrelevant for this video.
well its all about getting Overpowered and the main thing here was Wakka's overdrive, but once you get the final one you might aswell just do 1 more leagie to get the sigil done and out of the way.
in the end, if you want wakkas full solaris weapon, you need to get those overdrives anyways, since the sigil only appears after his 4th overdrive as a prize, so might as well do it early to get it over with and never touch blitzball again afterwards

I love how you think your videos are long. 😄
The hours, days and months you put into content..
Thank you
