"don't worry about solid contact" this is so under rated when working on swing changes. He always emphasizes this a lot, which I hope many take to heart. It's also the hardest thing for the human brain to do at this point.
Thank you very much for this short lesson, Adam. I used it today at the range, and it really improved my driver swing dramatically. It really does help keep that club further away. Much Success to you😊
I out drove my friend everytime the ball went the right direction the first time I played golf. I sliced about half but every one that connected right was a bomb. Sent one over an entire par 3 and into the next holes green
wow! great explanation AND take a look from the back of a video of Ben Hogan, this is the most Hogan like swing plane, elbow position, even similar leg work I've ever seen, beautiful, thanks for the information on how to get there
This is a great drill, just try your normal swing quarter speed and don’t turn your hips the clubs should hit the ground about a foot and a half behind the ball. Then do the same thing but add the hips and babaoey it’s a bomb
Ya keep teaching people to get their rt arm behind their back… then they can come to me and I’ll fix them… Guys like you keep me so busy with lessons. Thank you so much
It depends on the view. Looking down line the right arm looks behind body at the top (to the left of the torso for a right handed). From face on view I agree the right arm would be in front of the body.
Like anything (medicine, advice etc) take what you need. If you are prone to hooking I’d agree. Only a small fraction of the golfing population are though. Best, Adam
I hope this video helps Edward. I teach in Florida, and do golf schools in different places in the summer. If you feel like reaching out I’m at adambgolf.com
Thanks, but I’ll have to disagree with you there. In 35 years of teaching I’ve found that the ravenous desire for solid contact (at full speed) is the single biggest inhibitor to the freedom to change. The subconscious mind solves contact given a few dozen tries. No worries, Adam
Ok took me a minute to figure out what you were trying to say here. Seems a confusing swing thought process. I think there is a simpler and less confusing swing suggestion. But I will say I love your golf swing. I like the hands to be a little higher in the backswing though personally. I see to many players these days even those on tour with there hands much to low causing a flatter and what I feel less consistent striking of the ball. Just saying.
I'm actually hitting my driver straight an 300 (tops) yards. I just need to work on my chipping then I'll be in the low 70's. Last time I hit 82 no biries though.
@@thrillkillcult999 whatever kiddo, have fun riding the short bus and remember to have a extra special day for a extra special lil guy cause you obviously need it 😉
There is nothing worse that people who actually posted the content trying to show people “how it’s done” and then completely disregarding the actual outcome of total failure of what it is your trying to show and when they get pulled up on it they completely ignore it but reply to the idiots that licks the bottom!!!
Part of the purpose of that demo (as stated) was that it’s critical to disconnect from the outcome in order to gain the freedom to feel something new. The shot was fairly solid and about 15 yards into the right rough, which doesn’t matter at all really, but that’s where it went.
Lol, don’t worry about solid contact.. I thought hitting the ball was a big part of the whole package.. i mean how exactly do ya practice a swing without knowing how effective it is.. Kinda runs the risk of imbedding bad habits and mistakes.. but hey The golf channel has no short of odd tools That claim to work miracles.
When trying to make a modification in movement pattern you need freedom. Rigorously trying for solid contact will take that freedom away. Naturally solid contact is key, but not when first trying something
Hope i can swing like this guy when I'm his age! Sheesh!!
Keep at it
Best, Adam
This is an amazing tip! I can’t wait to get to the range and try it out
Hope you make progress
I hope the guy to your right on the range is wearing safety gear.😏😂

Thanks for the comment!
This guys has improved my game so much him and that Rick Shiels guy
The single best tip I've received for driver. Utilized this and then it was only a matter of ball positioning. I'm smoking them now. Thank you!!!
Glad to hear it!
This is, in my opinion, the best UA-cam channel for golf tips. You’ve helped me out quite a bit. Thank you.
Thanks very much!

Big facts
Jesus Christ, after he beat the shit out of Happy Gilmore Bob’s swing looks pure.
Smooth, graceful swing. Reminds me of Payne Stewart.

This man is smooth as hell. Get in shape folks.
Thank you for your lesson, sir.
You’re welcome David
This works with all clubs. Gives more space to swing it to

Good point! I thrust with the hips!

Thank you for the tip. I’m a young beginner golfer
Glad you found it helpful
This is the magic move to shallow the downswing. Basically feel like your throwing club behind you.
Thanks for the comment
That’s a fantastic tip!! Thank you
Thanks Brian
Ah. That was the key to my best and longest drives of this season one day. That was a swing thought. Really works.
Glad to hear it Tom
I out drove my friend everytime the ball went the right direction the first time I played golf. I sliced about half but every one that connected right was a bomb.
Sent one over an entire par 3 and into the next holes green
The next holes green was next to the par 3 green so it wasnt more than a 300yd drive. I still felt like Happy Gilmore 😂

Perfect video for my swing then 😂

Did he just slice that last swing ?
Look at how the left knee bends; this is critical, it enables a greater turn
This is a great drill, just try your normal swing quarter speed and don’t turn your hips the clubs should hit the ground about a foot and a half behind the ball. Then do the same thing but add the hips and babaoey it’s a bomb

Lovely swing !

Nice and smooth, great turn ! I detected a Scottish accent from Adam there, but he ain't Scottish (Wikipedia) ?..

I’ve had my struggles in that area too. Ultimately your out there for fun, hopefully that helps

rory mcilroy is a great example of width. notice how far out rory's hands are compared to other tour players.
I like Rory’s swing too!
How i got a Charles Barkley swing doing this while im on a tee box😂 bieng real actually good advice tbh👍
shanks the bejesus out of it
Thats a slice tho
Here's the key swing like Adam😅
That’s kind of you!
What about hitting it straighter
Certainly important. I have videos on that at this channel also, I hope you’ll find them helpful

Why is he saying father not further
Farther relates to distance, further would be used more in context such as “further more…”
Thanks for watching the video either way

British people say father instead of further

Father as in parent or religious figure. Farther, with the "r", relates to distance. Farther is the adverb of 'far'.
