Raw & LOUD 440 ci Garage Built Plymouth Barracuda | Built to Drive Hard

- It took a while but we finally got Aaron Beck to bring over his Plymouth Barracuda, walk us through his garage built beast then go shred some tires. Gotta love the old school approach with a 440 ci engine, 4 speed factory manual transmission, 15" wheels and the whole approach was to auto cross and get sideways so sit back and enjoy the ride...

Quote of the year by Aaron Beck: "Knowing what i know now, i would have never bought that car. But, I wouldn't know now, what i know, if i hadn't bought it." Words to live by!
F'N death proof, w/ the oh $hit handle. That's what I'm talking about home built rides, my absolute favorite, no crazy bells and whistles, just a raw bad ass street machine!!!!! SICK!!!!!
Absolutely GORGEOUS car. Love how aggressive and raw it looks. You can definitely see the Plymouth Cuda influence on the Matt Reeve's Batmobile from The Batman when looking at this gorgeous car. One of my favorite builds I have seen in a long time.
Same for me. Definitely a new favorite
First thing I thought when I seen it ... Matt Reeves batmobile
Looks Mad Max ish
Definitely
I'm a huge Sci-Fi fan and Weta is up there as one of the best. Aaron has been doing little teasers of the Cuda for awhile. So it's really cool to see it finally displayed in full and hear about the build in detail. I was hoping for this collaboration for a very long time. I'm really glad to see it finally happen.
Aaron - you're definitely one of the most gifted and inspirational car designers in the world. The 'Cuda is impressive, your F132 is next level. Thanks for sharing this glimpse of your talents
Aaron is an inspiration. To know nothing about car building and build your own car is amazing. It goes to show we have no excuses in this day and age because the information is out there. Great work Aaron and now i am inspired to build my own car. Thanks for sharing this Shaun.
This has been my favorite car build for *years* and I am so thrilled to hear it belongs to a WETA artist. My first car (79 Firebird) alternates between a Mad Max build for Wasteland Weekend, and a Matt Reeves inspired Batmobile throughout the year, and this Cuda always gets referenced when I work on a new design for it. As a fellow special effects artist and hot-rodder, one massive salute to this car and its owner.
I love his use of fifteen inch wheels. The overall diameter and fitment looks proper. The guys with the early Mustangs also have pulled off the correct look. The super tall diameter wheels look silly on many cars.
Totally agree, just cuz you can do something doesn't mean you should!!
Back in my younger days i owned a 71 4 headlight 383 Cuda, seeing this Cuda brings back a lot of good memories....puts a smile on my face
Man, what a cool car. His thought was function over form...but DAMN, that form looks so bitchin!
Agreed. Looks great and drives great. Perfect!
I’d had muscle cars my whole life, first car at 15 was a 68 Chevelle. In 2009 I had to sell the two I had when my dealership got closed. Had to save the house. I kept my old 4x4 Dodge. A few years later I bought a 2016 Shaker Challenger. Great car, does everything well. But I had to have another old school car again. Nothing beats old school muscle, especially when it’s modified like this.
Same for me. Built old school muscle car that can handle. This is truly badass
Like the earlier 392 Challengers...but man they are so heavy
@@gordocarbo the wife body cars solved the turn ability with more tire. Ugly truck flares though. Wesley Motorsports has a great suspension setup for them, they beat GT350s and z28s with theirs. But yeah, still heavy.
Really looks a lot like my cuda. Black 73. Big block and loud and obnoxious and just a street beast. Love the KIWI CUDA.
Absolutely one of the baddest rides I've seen on this channel.
Kiwi Cuda, watching from South Auckland 💯👌😎👍
You should also watch Uncle Tony’s Garage and Kiwi….you would like it 👍🏻😎
Hello!
@@jayweiss4378 He does a lil too much talking for me..
@@gordocarbo I don’t mind him talking too much as I actually enjoy listening to what he has to say 😂 But seriously it’s a good show with Tony and Kiwi👍🏻
@jayweiss4378 thanks dude Kiwi classics very interesting, Been watching Uncle Tony for a while now
As I recall hearing, the front spoilers used on Dan Gurney's AAR team Trans Am Cudas, were made by George Barris customs.
getting very cinematic in the first 45 seconds, love it.
I would call that paint job a work in progress. Cool car.
I fell in love with this car when it was on Speedhunters years ago. It’s so raw, and the renders he designed around that time were really inspiring to me as a scale modeler.
I remember seeing this car in NZV8 a few years ago, was wild then and still very much is.
Glad we finally got to shoot it
What a sick looking car man
Raw and in charge. Built for life
Damn that is low key wicked. Get away driver material.
Awesome! Great job on that build! Building something like that when you really have no idea how's it's gonna perform until it's done takes Cojones! You can't test drive one first, there are so many variables and options from the drivetrain, brakes, chassis, electronics and even the grab bar :D That thing will be an absolute blast once the hand brake is 100% !
DUDE! This thing is badass! It reminds me of the Roadkill General Mayhem Charger, purpose built to have fun 🤘I love that you still feature the garage builds on your channel dude. Keep it up 👍
Amazing car, vision, purpose built driver!!! Good job Sean still doing what you love keep it going!!!
I've been waiting for something like this, can't wait !!
Been waiting for this video since I discovered Aaron's car 9 years ago in college. finally
Looks like it's a runner ❤
Great build, Aaron! Love that you built it yourself and learned so much while doing it!
Love this car !!
Watching from New Zealand.
I love how they include the realities of owning these cars
I love seeing these builds. It helps me progress in mine.
He is special. Love from South Africa.
Holy hell. I need me one of them white shift knobs!
Even tho im biased bcuz it's my dream car, but definitely the best car featured lol
There’s nothing more fun than a solid 3-400 horses overbuilt so you can rev it out til the cows come home
my absolute dream car..
love hearing the journey on this project. super happy aaron got her going. now i need to come back out see it in real life lol. 🙌🏽🙌🏽
Another awesome story better build revealed man. What a beast thanks shawn 😮
Thank you. Loved shooting this with Aaron. Cool guy and badass build
@AutotopiaLA for sure always a great time man love all your stuff especially the oh shit look lmao 🤣 😂
Sweet looking car. Really loving the updated video production and presentation
Definite interpretation of RT~ Road & track ❤ Awesome 😁
So nice to see something that isn't all shiny and perfect looking
Love the steelies with those balloonf tires. That look is so rad. The only thing I'd change is lift the rear 1/2" and lower the front end 1/2 to 1" to give that bad attitude.
A true street Mopar. Ma Mopar would be proud!
Cool build, but I sure hope he runs an AIR CLEANER normally?? I absolutely love this guy's attitude! This is the type of guy to have as a goof friend, simply because we need to surround ourselves with "glass half full" attitude folks, and this decent, kind man Aaron is one of them!!
Wicked bad ass car !!! And amazing video and editing to Shawn and crew !! Keep the epic videos coming.
Thank you. Lots more coming and absolutely love this car!
Beautiful.
Built in an apt garage didnt let the letdowns slow him up
Just work harder and keep at it.
This is something wild and I’m not even a Dodge guy
Gotta love what he did
those Sci-Fi LED light in the front is simple and amazing!
No idea WHAT 440 this one is, but the good ones were WILDLY tough. My favorite big Mopar is the 383, they'll rev crazy high, and as far as I know they all had a pretty bulletproof bottom end. There were later truck 440s that were not-so-great, but his must've been a good one. They resist overheating WAY better than a big-block Chevy or Ford. I love how low and raw and mean this thing is. I also love that it's still got leafs in the rear, not a damn thing wrong with leafs with the right 'helpers', and there's no way to fuck up the alignment. REALLY cool car.
One of the best! Love it! Mopar kicks ass!
Loved everything about this, the Spirit of this build is just the best and what a talented builder. Amazing
Angry lookin beast!
Great video, awesome vehicle!
Almost died in the same model ‘Cuda when it started to rain and the tires were not ready for it. Luckily hit a tree instead of going into a ditch. I will watch every video on this channel!
Good stuff as always boys 👊. Its already been said but im gonna say it again- you guys have really stepped up your game recently 💪
Awesome work, looks great and he gets up it! got a Plymouth Belvedere down in the south of nz 🤘

Built to Drive Hard = Perfectly said Great Episode Thank you
Raw, home built, old school muscle and sorted. Love it.
29:29 Look at all the burnout marks on the road that the drone footage has captured!
Somebody was busy!
Great Build Aaron, Thank You for sharing your Vision/Work with us.
And who doesn't love a Race-Prepped Cuda...............
Can’t wait!!!!!
I love the rawness. It’s the essence of autoaficianado.
Mad Max eat your heart out
Pure Mad Max car…next movie maybe
Kiwis do fly-go NZ 🔥
I am a huge Plymouth fan....this car is amazing. 💯
Another great video. 👍
I love when he said, "Noynteen Seventee Challenga." It reminded me of Zoe from Death Proof!!
Love a cuda’ ! Grew up my dad ripping a 1970440 stick car. It was bad a$$.
I hope roadster shop sees this!! he needs there foundation 🙏 😅 and what great promotion to the kiwis and aussie's to push products to the lands down unda
That would be very cool
Love the look of this car! Thanks for the video-

Looks meaner than hell. Awesome job!😎👍
That thing is sick
Dont know what this gents design background is but he sure has an exacting touch...ohh yeahhhh!
That car is awesome!
Mad Max vibes all over \m/
Sick Cuda, love it 🔥🔥🔥
I like that car. I really like it when you do raw builds. Modern cars are boringly reliable. Nice job!
Churrr Bro! From Scotland! 🏴
Fabulous.
Hot damn, I love that thing!
I remember this car being on Speedhunters over a decade ago! Always wondered what happened to it. Glad to see it still out and about and not some pro-touring car
Savage!
Smiles per mile are pinned in this one Sean!
Shawn you are a awesome dude, must be cool to hang around such cool cars
Just perfect!
That thing is just cool.
wow. Luuuv this. Perfect. Look how flat it corners 31:08 Mostly i'm into day2 stuff but the stripped out old school is boss. How could this not be fun? Would be great to see it on a lift and check out under it at length.
