- And the winner is the diminutive little Sentinel Y1/2 of the Cholsey and Wallingford railway, the second of three shot of LNER A3 60103 Flying Scotsmans whistle stop tour of Oxfordshire/Berkshire and Wiltshire
Loved the head-on shot of her. Reminds me of the closing moments of the BBC’s 1968 documentary on ‘Flying Scotsman’.
Or the famous shots of "the train now departing"
😳😳😳😳😳 that is Gordon’s choaches
Smashing. I love the whistling!
Completely planned, I knew that the C&WLR had a sentinel steam wagon (I didn't) I knew they would be running it up to the main line at the same time as FS (I didn't) I guessed they would indulge in whistling antics (of course I didn't). I even recognised the Sentinel Y1/2 when it came round the corner. (I didn't I had to look it up)
That’s what we were hoping for at Worcester with Duchess and Clun Castle. Well, Clun played the game, but alas, Duchess didn’t 😭
Hi Geoff, most enjoyable watch - cheers, Brian
Thanks Brian
Long live steam
Great though your video was, the chutzpah of that funny little Sentinel's driver in whisting like that to a mighty engine like the Flying Scotsman..... well, all I can say is that I'm shocked!!!!!
The cheek of it, and then to find it has a better whistle than the A3.....
It blows my whistle!
Y1 does it I don't know. Knowing me, knowing you there is nothing we can do.
Noisy little sod that it was.
Fantastic
Yup pleased with the way the day turned out
