  • I thought it would be fun to test all the different Parkside Performance drills currently on offer. Starting with a 12V 35Nm version all the way through to the 150Nm 20V. Just so I can get the most out of them I am testing with the biggest batteries available. For the 12V that is the 5AH and for the 20V that is the 8AH. All batteries were fully charged before the test. All batteries are nearly new. Same apples to the drills too. All are lightly used and have not had a rough life at all!
    In this video:
    Parkside Performance drills
    - PBSPA 12 C3 (35Nm)
    - PABSP 20-Li C3 (60Nm)
    - PPBSA 20-Li A1 (150Nm)
    Batteries
    -PAPK 12 D2 (12v 5ah)
    -PAPS 208 A1 (20v 8ah)

    Very good, all included, noise, rpm, excellent choice of torx screws=no slipping.. C3 is pretty pleasant to the ears, all in all every tool has its purpose, when you use it correctly and not too much above capabilities it will perform as intended and you will enjoy it, for me 60nm C3 is best, 150NM is great but I don't want to carry that brick 😅

    • @BrokeLifeEU

      Thank you so much for your kind comment! Torx screws are great to use! I recently had to unscrew very old flathead screws and it took about 10 times as long as it should have... As for the drills the difference in weight between the C3 60Nm and A1 150Nn does not look like much, however you quickly begin to feel it. It's not just the weight, it's also the constant kickback of the tool if you go just a bit too far. It's like a high torque impact. It's good to have so you can use it if you need it, however all the rest of the time you will be using something smaller and easier to handle , which in this case is the C3 60Nm. I use them with the 8Ah batteries in the video but the 60Nm with the 4Ah smart battery is a pleasure to use. Compact and will get the job done!

    The biggest one, the one with the alleged 150nm, is actually close to 90nm. It totally got destroyed by a much weaker tool on paper and at the same price point. The erbauer 120nm. Also it had choke problems such as extreme run out and wobble. On top of that, it also had a very sensitive over current protection that caused the tool to seize every once in a while. I will wait for the b2 version when and if it will come out since this tool is no longer listed in the official lidl page anymore.

      In my case I never managed to overload it to an extent where I had to wait for it to work again. It was only on that big last screw that it managed to cut out. However it is on the heavy and burdensome side.

    Awesome test! I was really wondering about which one to get. I do have a 12v Bosh drill but thinking about getting a second drill for convenience. But I wouldn't buy the Bosh again, just for its high price alone.
    Just some small comments:
    I think it would be better to display the RPMs for a moment without scrolling text. This is better for pausing and reading them.
    Also, chapter marks in your videos would be great to jump back to specific sections again without seeking.

    • @BrokeLifeEU
      @BrokeLifeEU  4 місяці тому +2

      YES!!! I spent a lot of time trying to make the chapter marks work. Especially on this video! Unfortunately in the end I could not make them work. I am tool old for this technology stuff now anyway. But I'll give it another go! And thank you for your comment and positive mark! I really appreciate the time you take to watch and comment!

    I have the 12v and the 20v 80NM that the new 64nm replaced. The 12v is my favorite by a landslide. With the 2ah battery weights less than the 8ah battery alone, and it's capable of doing 95% of the holes and screws one typically use. I very very rarely use the big one unless I need the hammering function.

    • @BrokeLifeEU
      @BrokeLifeEU  5 місяців тому

      I can agree with the 95% part, however out of these three my choice is the 60Nm. If we are talking size and 12V it's the green brushed one, because of the price. I am not so sure the 12V performance is that much better than the 12V brushed for normal use. The ergonomics are different and I think that is on purpose, just to make you spend more on the performance version. However if I could only have ONE drill for everything it would be the 64Nm hammer drill. That thing is light for its power and very capable in all situations.

    • @MiguelCamba
      @MiguelCamba 5 місяців тому +2

      @@BrokeLifeEUSure, if you can only have one, you need to have the one that can do everything, which has to be a powerful enough hammer drill. But at 49€ with a charger, two 2ah batteries and two (not very good) bits sets on a fabric case, I think it's a better deal than the green one. It's noticeably more powerful and just being brushless and having a longer warranty completely justifies it.

    • @BrokeLifeEU

    Hi, love your channel and have been binge watching some of the videos. Do you happen to know what the c3, b2, or a1 in the model name represents? My guess was c3 was lowest tier and a1 was performance tier?
    My local Lidl has a pstda c3 jigsaw in at the moment but I can't find anyone reviewing it.

      @@BrokeLifeEU More than enough, 12V is nice for small jobs, it goes with two batteries and charger, bits and drill bits, but C3 is so compact with new 4Ah battery, I love using it primarily. I had C2 before but I wanted to exchange it for C3 because it's even smaller, shorter to be exact, 64NM is great because of the hammer function but I have corded Bosch for drilling walls, I just love compact stuff.

    • @BrokeLifeEU
      @BrokeLifeEU  5 місяців тому +3

      Could not agree more. The C3 20V is the best of all worlds. With the 4Ah battery that has the size of the old 2Ah it is superb! That and the converted impact driver meant I could disassemble any part of a car in minutes!

  • @hellofriend1128
    @hellofriend1128 4 місяці тому +1

    Right now the A1 is on discount for 50 euro in my country, but do I really need it 😅?
    Do you know how the C3 compares to the B2 (80N)? I am interested in the hammer functionality.
    Love your videos btw, good English Parkside videos were really missing on UA-cam.
    Edit: Oops, I am mixing the ones you reviewed up with the "PSBSAP" models.

    • @BrokeLifeEU
      @BrokeLifeEU  4 місяці тому +1

      Well the B2 has a hammer mode so it is more versatile with not much more weight compared to the C3 you see in the video. Regarding the 150Nm A1 that is just too heavy for my liking and I know the power looks like it is a good idea, but it is anything but that for your wrists. If I have to drive a long screw or lag bolt I will pick up the impact driver every single time and my wrists will thank me. But for 50EUR on the other hand if you want to have it and that is not too much money for you I'd say go for it even if it is just for bragging rights 😂

    • @hellofriend1128
      @hellofriend1128 4 місяці тому +1

      @BrokeLifeEU thanks for you response! If I had spare money I wouldn't be watching your videos 😆. Regarding the C3 and B2, I meant the 64nm variant with hammer functionality (PSBSAP 20-Li C3). I didn't see a weight measurement in your video about this one, how does it compare to the C3 in this video regarding weight?

    • @BrokeLifeEU
      @BrokeLifeEU  4 місяці тому +1

      😂 fair point. It is a couple of grams heavier. But it has the added hammer function. For €50 it is a good buy! Best of both worlds. If I had to have only one drill for all my drilling needs it would be the 64Nm C3 with hammer function.

  • @albertoaranoamartin2747
    @albertoaranoamartin2747 3 місяці тому +1

    It doesn't seem to have the hammer drill option though and even though the 160nM has almost too much power, it might need this option to go through bricks.

    • @BrokeLifeEU
      @BrokeLifeEU  3 місяці тому +1

      None of these here have a hammer function. And they deffinately need it to go through brick as you said. And without the hammer function 150Nm is indeed too much power.

    • @BrokeLifeEU
      @BrokeLifeEU  4 місяці тому +1

      The PPBSA has a lot of power but also a lot of weight. For me the PABSP C3 is enough for a drill. If I need more power I would get an impact driver and save my wrists. If you need 150Nm in a drill format it is best if it is a stationary drill. The C3 with a 4Ah smart battery is easy to use and will have all the power you might need in a drill.

    Personally I’d have tested (and weighted!) the 12v without the chuck when possible. I find it quieter and nicer to use. Maybe it’s placebo effect because of being lighter but I feel it more powerful.

    • @BrokeLifeEU
      @BrokeLifeEU  4 місяці тому +1

      I feel the chuck could act as somewhat of a flywheel and increase the power just a bit. It may be negligible for such a small weight and diameter but still. And I did want to include the chuck just because the other 2 have it anyway.

    A couple years ago I used one of these 20V parkshit toys, can't tell you which one though. I didn't like it, not for the reason I don't waste money on parkshit today, it was too violent for what I was doing. More power is not always "more better" as you demonstrated by breaking the bit, although working on a moving log is anything but professional or safe. You do you, not criticizing.

    • @BrokeLifeEU
      @BrokeLifeEU  4 місяці тому +2

      Absolutely right! Power delivery is even more important than outright power. If you can't use, it why have it in the first place! And about the log you can't imagine how many times it struck me in the knee or something. It will be a reminder not to do that for a long time to come! Unfortunately I don't have a place of my own to do these tests and so that is the difficult part of the situation. I don't recommend doing this sort of test with an unsecured log. Not if you like your kneecaps.

    The background music is a little too loud over the tool noises. Also for measuring the db-s of drills you had the sound meter too close. Also when measuring the rpm you don't need to pause the video for results, you can just let it run a bit longer 🙂 Other than that, a great video. 👍
