Wachusett Mountain Ski Resort Review

- Planning a skiing trip and your unsure what mountain you should go to? No problem! My goal is to help you decide what mountain you should visit, based on my experiences at ski areas located across the Northeastern United States! To help you decide, I'll rank Wachusett on a scale from 1 to 10 on six different criteria, then I'll give it an overall ski area based on what I think of the ski area overall! Also, if you have a ski resort you would like to see me review in New England, let me know in the comments below!
Wachusett is a small, local mountain located in Princeton and Westminster, Massachusetts. Due to its close proximity to the City of Boston, Wachusett is quite the popular mountain with day-trippers from the city and the surrounding area. As a result, the mountain can often get quite busy. Wachusett is best known for being a great ski area for both families and beginners, and its easy to get to location, right off of the highway.

Wachusett is my home mountain. Been skiing here since 2013 when I was 8. I god my ski lessons here. It’s a great place to learn how to ski. Wachusett is not a place to expect steep advanced trails. It’s a good place to go to the top of the mountain and feel confident to go down. It’s a fun place to go night skiing and fun place to hang out with friends. The location for the place is great. The Crowleys have been working very hard to keep making this mountain better.

Wachusett also can’t have glades because the land they are under is owned by the DCR. So they don’t want tree skiing in the old growth forest or any part of the mountain.
Akso the old terrain park was a lot better. When it was on look ma it was massive and nice and wide to put a lot of stuff in. But all things have to change eventually I guess.

I've never skied and im going with my friend on Sunday, after going on a few green trails do you think I will be ready for a blue trail. It all depends on how fast i pick it up but are the blue trails really hard?
The blue trails off of Minuteman are not very difficult
Wachusett is ok. If you're a Worcester, Boston or Providence resident like he says it's DEFINITELY your closest "big 🏔️" skiing option. Wachusett does have a pretty reliable season length, HOWEVER, in my experience (early-mid December-early to mid March was best), it's NOT anywhere near as good as either the Berkshires or the upstate NY, VT, NH or ME 🏔️'s (which are the 🏔️'s that ACTUALLY usually go from Thanksgiving-early April) because of how much further north and how much higher in elevation they are. If Wachusett rivaled Killington for length of ski season AT ANY TIME in history, I'd be SHOCKED! 😂
Bullock Lodge (located mid-mountain) is the most charming and intimate lodge Wachusett has. It's an "authentic" New England ski lodge. Much less crowded than the main base lodge, it also has less food options, but is more cozy and I preferred it. I mainly skied Wachusett with my college 🎿 team. We were based in the Amherst/Northampton 5-College area, so Wachusett was about an 1hr.+ drive from us depending on traffic.
Berkshire East in Charlemont, MA (the eastern edge of the Berkshires hence the name) was our 🎿🏔️ home proper, it's located about 45 minutes to the Northwest of the Amherst/Northampton area.
Wachusett has been improving its early openings, with November openings for more than 5 years in a row!
@@beyondthelodge Well, that's cool. I live in CA now, so I 🎿 mainly in Tahoe these days. Still miss New England sometimes though.

What r the best beginner/novice ski areas closest to bronx ny? Can u give some reviews please and show the trails.
Man I wish I could but I live way up here in NH. I'd suggest looking into Hunter, Bellayre and Windham though
