    I have a monster beetle from 1986 same year I was born. It was my dad's and handed down. Just found your channel looking up parts. Very cool seeing one all together and clean. I have to get lots of parts. Thanks for your channel! 🤘💯

    When reusing holes in plastic ALWAYS turn the screw counter clockwise first in the hole to feel the start of the thread then clockwise as normal to prevent recutting the plastic in the hole.

      Exactly, back threading is the only way to go.

    I'm one of those who enjoy Blue Pinto... So a new Album will be sweet!
    This is another awesome creation of yours. It also reminds me that I've never had a Monster Beetle!! 😭😱
    It's on my list.... As well as the gearbox brace you make (until I'm able to get a MIP ball diff), the double wishbone suspension, and now this body mount brace!
    I really like one side effect that your improvement pieces give - much needed *weight!!* MOST Tamiya vehicles are grossly Underweight! So much so, that their suspensions barely MOVE! Except the King Cab, the Semis, and a few higher end 4x4 Buggies.
    LORD! I can't wait until I'm finally out of this Mess....

      You said it, with LIPO batteries, they are way too light!

    Very nice.
    I had broken a rear body mount on my Brat [at the chassis], drove me nuts.
    For the life of me I can't remember how I finally remedied it, I think it had something to do with the Super Blackfoot [?, the updated black dbl wishbone gearcase].
    Oh, ya want something else for the laundry list..., lol.
    Make a better suspension than the CRP one for the FX-10, Striker, Sonic Fighter.
    =)
    Oh yeah, new toy...., an FX-10.
    It wasn't too rough, but I have already gotten it cleaned up a bit.
    Unfortunately, it has the Striker front suspension instead of the stock FX-10 or Sonic Fighter suspension.

    I know this has nothing to do with this video but you asked about the dog bones on the king cab not sure if you found out which one is stock but the one with the rib in the middle is stock from Tamiya the other one looks like a thorp dirt burners 4940.

    I have 3 chassis that the upper body mounts are rounded out where the > from the peg and the > on the chassis has been stressed. they do the body wobble just sitting there lol

    Did you ever come up with the solution to the front light mount on the monster beetle that always breaks? On my MB body the the mounts for those lights are broken. Just curious, love the channel.

    • @AMPROEngineering
      @AMPROEngineering  5 років тому

      Yes I do actually. It is a brace but it is in line to be finished. Stay tuned!

    Your shows are great and will soon get some of your parts for lunchbox. Can you tell why the lunchbox has an A arm mounting location under standard location?

    • @AMPROEngineering
      @AMPROEngineering  6 років тому

      Yes that is a great question. The other A-arm mount was for the Tamiya 58044 Pajero. That was where the Pumpkin/LB started life. Take a look at that model and then you will see.

    • @weberbuiltweber1908

      Thank you! Gotta have one now. Any suggestions? It seems I have most of whats needed. I have a nib M. P.

    • @AMPROEngineering
      @AMPROEngineering  6 років тому

      There are a lot of differences to that chassis that they made for the MP and LB. I mean the basics are there but I honestly would locate a rough one and start there. They usually do not get much money. No one likes them.

  • @weberbuiltweber1908
    @weberbuiltweber1908 6 років тому

    I was thinking frame was same. So they kept original mold and altered or modified it a bit for LB?

    Just found this video as I'm going over my beetle. I really don't like the play in the stock rear shock mount. Does this address it??
    Oh, and another great video! I'm in a problem solving mode. Sometimes to be friendly.

    • @AMPROEngineering
      @AMPROEngineering  9 місяців тому +1

      Indeed. This stabilizes it a great deal.

    • @Paul__FC

      @@AMPROEngineering that's great. I'll have to do that. Just now on the track the front spot lights just snapped off the nose. I hit nothing. They just shook off.

    Hey, did you do anything with the whale tail for the Monster Beetle idea?

    • @AMPROEngineering
      @AMPROEngineering  6 років тому +1

      Not yet. I am stuck working on two irritating projects atm. The interior for the BF and the chassis for the Sand Scorcher. Uhg.

    Hi, I was wondering what the difference is between the monster beetle and the monster beetle QD. To me the quick drive looks like a more toy-ish version of the car. I found an old QD locally for sale for 50 bucks and was wondering if its a good deal. Thanks.

    • @AMPROEngineering
      @AMPROEngineering  4 роки тому +1

      The monster beetle is much bigger and has a different body. The QD was a prebuilt RC with a much smaller body and a totally different chassis.

    Can a lunch box body mount to a blackfoot

    • @AMPROEngineering
      @AMPROEngineering  5 років тому

      No, the lunchbox is way too small. You would need to make your own mounts but the wheelbase is very different and the body much more narrow.
