This is the best explanation of this solo on UA-cam. You explained why we use the three positions. So I don’t just have to memorize notes. I know the three positions and can now improvise and it sounds good. Thanks so much

Ughh Bro! Where have you been all my life? I've been stuck in either a minor pentatonic rip or a major scale noodle for last 15 years. Now I am all over my neck in all 5 minor pentatonic positions along with understanding and utilizing the major pentatonic (Major Pent. works really well improvising over country rock tunes) My band was completely shocked last practice; you're my hero dude; easy to understand vids and you make it bearable to watch the basics ( A lot of us "self-taughters" skipped those even if we did hit the ground running) Cheers Bro.

Well well. Who was the guitarist on Tracy Chapman's Give Me One Reason ? I do not know. Google time !!! Adam Levy, it would appear. Next search.....Adam Levy is a jazz guitarist who was a member of Norah Jones's band. Wikipedia
Tremendous ten minute lesson. No surprise, I suppose, that a jazz guitarist would take the solo out of the standard core blues box at the second fret - very tasty. Reminds me of an earlier Stitch lesson about mapping the solo. Thanks Ian !!

Been subscribing a while and loving the videos and insights. This one came across my feed and thanks to the clear explanation and fretboard graphics, I easily learned the concept of connecting the pentatonic shapes with the Albert King box and BB box and on up the fretboard. Holy S!*% what an instant transformation to my phrasing but also seeing those connections between pentatonics that immediately made the light bulb go off for when I solo over other blues. Thank you!!
