Tracy has an amazing voice. I think she didn’t quite get where she was destined to be. I feel like a singer of her caliber should have been much more famous and played on the radio significantly more.
There's something special about certain artists that are super talented. They dont sell their soul to record companies and the Hollywood life and they keep their dignity and originality.
@@djentile7773 Talent isnt enough to make a superstar, 99.9999% of massive success is massive promotion, ask any professional musician. The people who decide what we get to see have a pretty fixed idea what will be massive. They want a product that they can turn over as cheaply as possible for the quickest return. Unfortunately this usually means very beautiful people who do what they are told, there is a regular supply of those. Again unfortunately, major talents can fall by the wayside in this process, but maybe it's actually better in the long run for people to be moderately successful than to live some impossible celebrity lifestyle
Tracy Chapman is the truth! Her voice is absolutely incredible! She is warm, creative and a force to be reckoned with! I remember when this jam dropped this like it was yesterday! One of the most underrated vocalists ever!
This is the song that launched Tracy's career to stratospheric heights. During the mid '90s, this song was playing on the radio all the time. It was then that people discovered some of her other great songs such as Fast Car and Talkin' about a Revolution.

This song is obviously a classic, but I'm more concerned with the heartless individuals who would down vote this masterpiece, and this woman. Seriously?
As I listen to this, I'm back in my room of the house where I grew up, in Ohio--a rainy night, which I've always loved and I'm 17 years old again--just starting to explore my own artistic side with songs and poetry as I explored life. A memory sorta nondescript, but a good one. Music can be the gateway to another time, when everything wasn't broken and life was always fine...

I'm 65 years old and have always loved her music. Just thinking of all those who watched the Grammys and have just become aware of her music and are listening to this awesome music for the first time. To those, take a listen to bang bang bang and All that you have is your soul.
❤
I could listen to this song all day. Love the blues.
I love Tracy's voice, timeless, sultry, raspy just to wonderful. Thank you for helping me through some of the best and worst I ever had to go through. No more cold feet.
Emanuela
YES
I don't hear any raspiness but definitely alot of soul
You're a dumb bitch
You are woman!
Tracy has an amazing voice. I think she didn’t quite get where she was destined to be. I feel like a singer of her caliber should have been much more famous and played on the radio significantly more.
Not to mentione her song writing ability
There's something special about certain artists that are super talented. They dont sell their soul to record companies and the Hollywood life and they keep their dignity and originality.
She seriously needs to make a comeback,.Things happen at the right time when everything is in its place. That kind of talent needs to be shared.
3 replies and they're all invisible to me...
They just don’t make ‘em like this anymore...so much talent!
Sooooo TRUE!
This is real unfiltered talent

Never gets old , such a good jam
Tracy Chapman is the truth! Her voice is absolutely incredible! She is warm, creative and a force to be reckoned with! I remember when this jam dropped this like it was yesterday! One of the most underrated vocalists ever!
Alwaus loved that gal

This is the song that launched Tracy's career to stratospheric heights. During the mid '90s, this song was playing on the radio all the time. It was then that people discovered some of her other great songs such as Fast Car and Talkin' about a Revolution.
Love ❤️ Tracy Chapman, she has a very beautiful voice, I could listen to her sing 🎤 all day and night.🇨🇦❤️🎶🥰
Her star is still shining brightly! She has always been such an authentic artist. 🌹🌹
Isn't crazy how almost every song written in the past decade or two have a relevance to our life in one way or another.
You just told the truth then.
Yes
I love this woman a great singer
Stop talking start singing
That is the secrect formula to a true masterpiece of a song.
My uncle is an amazing guitar player, I told him in middle school i loved this song. He heard it a few times it played on the radio, by the end of the week he learned it and played it for me. I thought it was the best thing ever!
I've listened to Tracy for about 40+yrs now, and she's one of my favorites to say the least. I luvs her ❤
This one is my favorite. There is nobody like Tracy Chapman. She brings out the rainbow!!
When I listen to music my mood changes, i listen to all types of music. However when I listen to like a chilled vibe this one is my favourite I just sit here with my eyes close tapping my foot and nodding my head. What a song this is for real
Love how understaded she's always been, like knowing her talent would do all the talking she would ever need. Love me some Tracy Chapman since i was a kid, and this is definitely one of her classics.
Touche!!! Well said. THANK you
@@lorettachan-sam650 ...and it is her biggest song!

I been liking Tracy for over a decade now

everyone knows that
Yes she is, smooth music.
I thought it was a dude for years
Tell em! ❤️❤️❤️
haha me too, i dont' care who ya are
How can someone be this talented and drop off the music scene. This is such a great song. Come back to us.
This ugly world doesn't deserves tracy soul. That's why she hung up. Too much nasty kicks lies corruptions fake persons and lack of truths in this earth journey especially in music industry. Big lost. shame on us!
Yes please come back!!!!
She is also heavily involved in social activism which she holds very close to her, suffering bullying and racism in her childhood. She really moves me and I feel the pain and depth in her music. Its a sound track to her life, most of our lives really

new years baby
I love her 🎶🎵
TC is on one of my playlists so I can listen to her anytime❣And I would like to thank you for not calling this song a "masterpiece" or saying "you're a legend" >lol
I still love her and her songs...we had the BEST music back in the day..
Oh yes! Still love this woman!
Just here because my childhood was amazing with classics like this!! 90s baby raised on 70,80,90 hits! The real talent was on full display those days
This song is obviously a classic, but I'm more concerned with the heartless individuals who would down vote this masterpiece, and this woman. Seriously?
I'm sure it's a jealousy thing. I can completely relate to what your saying in this comment
Those are racists being racists and thinking their opinions matter.
Sometimes it’s bots as well. I’m sure it’s a minority of downvotes, but I’m guessing they make up around 10% (ish) of the number
I always love this song and all her songs, and her voice.
They don’t know shit...
I'm 53 and it's 2022. I still love her voice. One of the best female artist
I am 75... and I agree !!!
Totally agree
I'm also 53 and she is one of my all time favorite artists.

Well Said 😇
@Teddy Moonbeam I can see it in my mind as I'm reading your text. ❤️
Great expression, I'm right with you! I write a little and try to play hoping one day the magic secret to play my axe like a pro will reveal itself and the rest will be history! I kinda think though that after 40 years of trying it ain't gonna happen lol!
My 5 month old just absolutely loves Tracy’s voice. One thing that’ll instantly calm her down. I grew up listening to her. I’m 28 but my mom always listened to older music
After a night in hospital with COVID19 all around, the warm voice of Tracy is the cure..the answer, the awareness..
🙏
Prayers for your recovery!!
Prayers❤️
Get well soon .

I HAD MY OWN ROCK BAND BACK IN THE 6S AND 70S AND I ABSOLUTELY LOVED PLAYING MUSIC IN THAT ERA.
beautiful song
I'm 74 years old and smoking a joint and listening to this awesome music
I adore Tracey and her music. 70 yo here and been listening to her from her beginning. It's been an honor and a privilege to do so all these years. Have all her CD's still and listen regularly!
The first cassette tape that I ever owned was Tracy Chapman (in 1989), and I still love her music!!! Gorgeous voice ❤❤
This song brings back a lot of memories, I really love it, I'm glad you do too, anyways, how's your week going?
