Oh the memories! I went over to a friend's house in 1986 and and was amazed by his Wild One with a Futaba Magnum Jr. radio. It was my introduction to 1/10 scale r/c and got me into a hobby that lasted for the next 8 or 9 years!
That's beautiful Paul but in the USA the block head Wild One is $248 and you can get the block head Hot Shot 4WD for $212 w/ ball bearings. I got the Hot Shot!!!!!
@@FullOnRC l hear ya buddy. My BHM WO is coming from time tunnel should be with me Monday 🤩🤩🤩 Can't friggin wait l feel l been waiting for years and its almost a passed model now there has been so many on UA-cam! Haha but l don't think anyone will tire of this buggy and it will only grow! Do you know anything about how many tamiya will release? I don't think its a limited edition one? Well you can't get one of those spotty Hornets for love or money now l know that! Cheers James. Catch me on the Tamiya club if interested 😉👍
Looks really good Paul, I’ve gotten used to seeing you use Hobbywing in most of your Tamiya’s. The Wild One looks like it has plenty of power, hope you do a running video also. 👍
Hi there Paul, looking like the WildOne Blockhead is certainly a looker. It’s funny you should mention the ESC, I’ve not had much luck with the Banggood Brushless ESC & Motor. I purchased the 4730kv F540 style one and it was terribly ‘coggy’. I’ve just ordered a HobbyWing 10BL60 ESC (although it say sensored, it can handle sensorless motors too) I’m hoping that will cure the ‘cogging’. If not, at least I’ll have a decent ESC, I’ll have to source a decent motor. I’ll be interested in how your Blockhead performs. Take care and best wishes 😊😁😉
Yerhhh John I bought a few banggood ones and wont be buying them again. I bought the Ezrun 3300Kv for the Monster Beetle and took the Banggood one out, It was awful.
awesome job Paul as usual, can i ask you? i see you use that carlube grease in most off your cars over the supplied tamiya grease.have you ever had any issues with that grease doing any damage to the gear plastics?
No non whatsoever. I have seen a few people use it, I tend to pack my gearboxes with it so it keeps muck away from the internal gears. Worked out good so far.
Hey Paul, have fallen at the first hurdle, step 5 G1washer, where is it as there is no reference to it at all in the manual other than in this step, cheers Paul
@@FullOnRC yes it's the small washer that sits on top of the bumper between the carbon fibre plate and under the front suspension bar, there's no reference to what size, metal or plastic, I've been building tamiya models for 40 years and this is the first time that a manual doesn't doesn't tell you what it is, cheers Paul
@@rustychevy7035 Right I know what you mean now. It is in there I believe. If not, I may have used a spare out my spares box. I cannot fully remember TBH. Sorry I cannot be more help. It's been a while since I built mine.
@@FullOnRC cheers Paul, can't really see what it looks like in the blockhead motors build but the normal wild one build looks like you've used a red "O" ring
@@rustychevy7035 Well spotted. Yerhh on the original I used an orange O-ring. But on the Blockhead I used a 2mm thick plastic washers which is chrome so must be from the kit. I would say the 2mm washer is the best option to eliminate any flex on that front end section.
No offence, but an awesome video ruined by elevator music from a psych ward. We’re saturated with terrible music everywhere. In shops, elevators, bars. Please repost without it.

Thank you my friend and thanks for tuning in👍
I like that 🙂
Yerhh its a stunner. Bit battered today after first run though. Thanks for tuning in.
Terrific! I loved my build (3rd or 4th tamiya ever) And what a fun buggy to run also! Cheers!
Glad you enjoyed it. Yerhh the blockhead is special. Enjoy your buggy. What other Tamiya do you have?
Very nice Paul and like you l missed the first batch but did not make the same mistake twice! 🤩👍
You and me both! I never seem to have the money when I need it LOL.

I have the bh wild one on way. Looks real nice
It's a stunner for sure. Iconic kit. Enjoy.
Great job 👏 Still waiting for mine to arrive one day! Australia got terrible stock.
Sorry to hear that Adam. You got the Thundershot before me so you got it good that week. 😃
I hope Tamiya is now done with all the Blockhead models
Me too but I'd be very surprised if we don't see another.
@@FullOnRC you are probably correct
@@adrianharrison5208 I think the Wild One was ok, maybe because it was the first, but the Hotshot was pig ugly and no one seemed to like it.
