Hey it's good to see one of these being used properly and not kept as a special edition shelfer. Having said that, when I get round to building mine it's going to have a fairly easy life on grass on dry days while the standard edition with the brushless motor gets a beating in all weathers. Great video guys 😁👍👍
This one will have a hard life I think, see how it gets on and in fairness it’s a great model to thrash around. Don’t be to easy on yours and spoil it too much 🤣😂👍
@@RCsoandso oh yeah I pay far too much tax on my massive income so I'm going to follow him there rather than pay anything back to the economy that made me rich! To be fair it's probably mainly the American economy that made him rich but he's still a tax dodging knob 😂
It is a cool looking and fun running buggy! Not the best out there but a good looking scale buggy. I am glad you did not lose the front pin completely, that would probably be one of those oddball parts that are really difficult to find!
I have this new in box and havent built it yet but i suggest backing the grub screw out and pull the pin and file a flat spot in the pin the tighten it back up. I wouldnt put locktite on any plastic parts. They will become brittle and will fail
Great little burn up lads! In all fairness, for the age of the design she really does drive well, especially with the trusty superstock which is quite a bit more potent than the silver can that it was originally designed for! The pin design is very crude, and typical of models from this time period......worth trying some of that maximum hold locktight perhaps? I watched a video on that 1/1 scale wild one a few months ago, apparently it can easily be made road legal..... I was very interested, that is until I saw the price tag!!! As for breaking in those superstocks- I always connect them up to an esc/battery before fitting them to the car. I then put the trim on the remote slightly up so it ticks over at very low revs for about 10 minutes, then allow it to cool down for a while. I repeat this process about 5 or 6 times before fitting the motor to the car. It does a great job of gently bedding in the new brushes to the commutator ready for use. Don't know about you, but i would love to see a Blockhead motors lunchbox edition..... and that similar livery in blue would look awesome?! Hmmmm..... I might just get on that one and make my own!! 🤣 👍 👍 👍
Tamiya has progressed well over the years with design, but I would have thought Blockheads may have addressed this issue, as I’ve heard a few people have this problem, but I will see if Loctite cures the problem. The BZ is a Great motor and I like to use them but they do take time to settle, I might give your method a try. I’ve seen someone try and do a Blockhead Lunchbox, and I am sure you would do a far better job than they did 🤣😂👍
Here's my 2c. My first car was a fav in 85 and it's rough rider tyres didn't slide then to suddenly bite in and flip the car although I like the challenge of 2wds, those wild one tyres are pretty bad for that. Also a 21t motor is all it can handle verging on insanity. The chassis has a weak spot on the rear too which will eventually remind you that torquey motors and hard landings run into $. Thanks for your entertaining video and one minute of your life to read this drivel
Hey it’s interesting and I’d love to have had a FAV, I’ve thought about butchering something together to look like one. I do agree it was weak spots but I’ll run it till it breaks as it’s a fun buggy all in all. Glad you enjoyed the video and taking the time to comment 👍
@@RCsoandso I now feel bad for the poor guy that bought my clapped out fav in 87. I bought rough rider tyres for my w.o. as they were the only things that outlasted the fav itself
Nice one today. I really love mine. Only a torque tuned and stock ESC but it really flies. literally, as I always take it for jumps. I've been pretty hard on mine however I have not (yet) encountered the knuckle pin problem. Cheers
In fairness im happy with mine and it’s probably user error when building but I’ll tighten it all up and take it out again, the BZ really makes it hard to handle so need a massive space to give it a full run 👍
The Racing Fighter is the Chief Engineers, I’d class the Sand Scorcher as a Beach Buggy not just a Buggy, the Hornet belongs to another friend and the comical is also the Chiefs, so that’s my justification I’d say 🤔😂👍
My eagle eye picked up on the hair hanging off the back. And since hd TVs ive picked up on Sigourney Weavers trying to escape her underwear or luke and Leia's stretchy as their lips parted. I think it maybe more of a perverse nature rather than an eagle eye though. Thanks for wasting 10 seconds of your life to read this important information

I don’t know if you need to take it to the aisle of Mann, but it’s up to you 🤔

With the costs of doing it and the back and forth I’d imagine paying tax would be a better alternative 😂

I have so many tubs and boxes with parts that may come in handy, one day I might be able to build a Frankenstein from them 🤔😂👍
Now the BRMC reference makes total sense
It’s all related in some unusual way….. usually 😂👍
Nice video. Maybe the chief engineer finds another solution for the pin. A scew pin might help
Yes true, I think I’ll try loctite on the grub and see if that does anything first and take it from there 🤔👍
@@RCsoandso how experienced and accurate are you with super glue or epoxy? Just a little bit to fix the pin but not the joint.

Sounds logical. Funnily enough I had a conversation yesterday, and was being told about a way using a center punch, but this seems easier 👍🤔

I wouldn’t feel bad, sounds like he had a project car 🤣👍👍
Good show. Great buggy run. Very entertaining, even before the outtakes.
We always try not to have outtakes, like professionals, but they always seem to happen 🤣😂👍

That pin came loose on mine, too. I check it before and after every run . 😂 I have fitted a Sport Tuned and it really flies. Keep Up the good Work.
Im going to Loctite it up now and keep my fingers crossed. Otherwise epoxy time!
Now that is one wild wild one!
It just flings itself all over the show, one day I’ll control it 😂👍
Love the look of this buggy. Maybe one day but until then your sliding about it going to have to keep me going 🙌🏻
It’s really good, and I like it, but I am still mulling a BBX 🤔
@@RCsoandso do it!!!! For science I want to know how it goes against the Wild One 🙌🏻
I am really considering it 🤔
Great video once again!! That pin really is a weird design. What’s holding it in? Who knows lol a mystery.
It has a tiny grub screw but for the vibration it takes it can’t hold up to the job, so I’ll use chemicals and luck I think 🤣👍
Tamiya esc is set to low speed as they don't want you going faster than a road car 30 kph is the lowest speed limit in Japan 🇯🇵 always watching 👍
Ha yes i think you can hear the ESC in this one panic as it flys passed. Good to know you are still with us 👍
Cool buggy but I find the Tamiya cars hard to film as one they are so small and they bounce around a lot
That’s true, they dart around all over the show, lots of wide shots are needed just to see the bloody thing 🤣😂
Very nice indeed great run for sure .
It did do a good job, mostly 🤣😂
@@RCsoandso it happens 😜

I’d recommend it in fairness 👍

I understand that Sigourney Weaver and Ridley Scott were at loggerheads over that and they had to use CGI to tame it 🌳💻😂👍
