I was listening to Creepypasta and it's good and all but nothing compared to these real radio shows with real actors. Thanks for uploading!
I've learned that falling asleep listening to CBSRMT sometimes results in absolutely bizarre dreams.
Same for me Michael.
Yes it really does...kind of eerie. ..and they are most vivid in detail. ....
This is one of the best programs I ever heard. Three cheers to radio mystery theater.
Perhaps it’s best to take life’s curves a little slower so we don’t end up on the island of no return? Great story and love Teri Keane’s voice! Enjoyed 6/25/2022.
All these shows are just brilliant, I've not heard a bad one and I've heard loads!!! From an English point of view hearing the adverts is a joy!!!
Thoroughly enjoyed this, it was a devil of a show!!
This is wonderful . Thank you.
My wife and myself (circa 70's) would hurry to listen.
Our imaginations were very much in line with the "view
Thanks Hyman
I thrilled to this back in the 70's too & it made quite an impression. By the way, his name was spelled H-i-m-a-n, w/an "i" instead of a "y". And what an amazing performer/writer/producer he was, of over 30k shows! And Hi as he was known, was born in 1910 & lived to be 99. Like Christ, Einstein, and Jon Stewart, a visionary creative Jew who was a heck of a great guy with a kind heart & great sense of humor and he carried The Twilight Zone torch quite splendidly. Thanks Himan, indeed!
That was a fun listen while cooking. Thanks!
Wow island of the Dead better known as Hades. Excellent piece of work.
Beautiful ly done. Great message at the end. You old timers had all the best stories.
These are only 50 years old. It’s not like they are from the the 1920s.
@@inkyguy 40 yrs old😉
Thanks for sharing ChillySunshine
Despite all the hints, I did not see that coming. Excellent story!
I am only 27 and greatly enjoyed it. I don't think I belong in the current age
Enjoying this story in Dec 2010. Even the commercials! I didn't even know about these radio shows when they came out in the 70s.
Don’t you mean 2020?
@ Inkyguy - yes! Must have been a typo at the time and I never noticed.
These are hidden gems so much better than Twighlight Zone and Outer Limits
I’ve been listening to these old radio shows all week. This one was extraordinarily good. I love this story, and I love the ending. I am a true fan of horror movies and scary shows, and this is a Great script!
Roo71 Spoiler Alert
Barbara Churchill truth!! I’m sorry!!! I’ll change it. 😉👍🏻
Roo71 Hey, I’ve been there, too. Thanks!
Really excellent audio quality on this one. Used to listen to these in the back seat of my parents car on the long drive back from relatives. Lots of times we'd lose reception along the way and not hear the endings, or come in in the middle. It's nice to be able to listen to these without the AM signal loss! Thanks for posting!
So glad that you are now able to hear in their entirety all the episodes you missed parts of as a younger person.
@P Kos sounds magic
@P Kos must bring back good memories for you all
Riding home laying in the back seat in my dad's car driving back to Durham from cousin's farm in Chapel Hill 🥰🌚
Great acting in this one. Bittersweet story.
This one made my eyes leak at a point. Thank you for such a collection of gifted writers, narrators and the production teams. 💙🙏💚
Thank you for uploading!🙂🦉🇲🇩
The message and symbolism of this is quite wise. I’m often surprised by the maturity and wisdom that graces these scripts

Always, Depends, .......
Helps me sleep so good for losing yourself.
So at first this was kind of like a sedate Carnival of Lost Souls. Then it draws heavily on a certain ancient myth regarding the afterlife and the struggle to escape, the saga of the great Greek bard Orpheus who sadly looked back & lost his wife Eurydice, similar to a Nipponese fable, and a gimmick borrowed for another famous story where someone escaping doom makes the mistake of looking back. The ultimate in exclusiveness. Oh well, at least there's a buffet lol. Thanks ChillySunshine.
I forgot that I wrote this after my college roommate’s wedding in Mississippi!
I admire your knowledge, thanks for sharing.
Love this one!
Thanks Chilly.
Wow..excellent story+the inner message..how clever..I was thinking one thing about the story+then the twist came!!
orfeus und euridike! so eine wunderschöne geschichte.

Great story with a very interesting take on the underworld-combining a (then) modern perspective with a classical framework

I like these stories but they keep putting me to sleep.
Wow I need to get some preparation h now!
Lol.
Too much information.
love this image... and i'm becoming a fan of Teri Keane's voice
Yes, Teri Keane has become one of my favorite performers. Even though I’ve found some performances to be especially well done, as I’ve listened to many of these episodes, I’d be hard pressed to chose which actor was superior to another.
@@inkyguy so many great performers I discovered through CBSRMT. I'm going through my 3rd or 4th listening to most of the episodes...they're now available on Spotify
Bravo!
I figured part of it out right away, but I didn't see the rest of it coming. Twilight Zone used similar plots. This is a good one!
There are a number of production intersections between “Mystery Theater” and “Twilight Zone.” For instance, a lot of the interstitial music in “Mystery Theater,” including its opening and closing theme, was music originally composed for “The Twilight Zone” because Himan Brown had access to CBS’s entire sound library, a literal wall of recorded sounds and music, which included the music used in “The Twilight Zone.” CBS owned this because Rod Serling impetuously sold all of his rights to the series to CBS for a relatively small lump sum, a decision that horrified and enraged his wife when he informed her of what he had done.
This is nice, a good story call I will see how it ends
island in your life noo island in your afterlife
50c! I get it! Cool!
👏👏👏
Subbed 🔥 channel!!!
If anyone knows what episode that is I'd appreciate it
Correct title is "Island on Silver Tree Lake" according to "The CBS Radio Mystery Theater..." book by Payton and Grams, Jr.
That's what it says.....
Karen Cawthorn have you considered the possibility that in the year between William’s comment and yours, that the page owner might have updated the description as a result of William’s comment.
