So enjoyed this story.........I’ve heard it a few times, I was wondering if it was part of a series, of which I’ve only heard the first one?. Thanks for posting 👏👏👏👍😊
Thanx Uncle Chesterton,Great play. -Hey-Unfortunately I only got 3 runs today in our villages score of 437 for 2.....Never mind eh....! Hope you are coming round Saturday Night 4 tea eh....?
Bumper year for the Dahlias is the second one and third in the series is The Deep end. In order of writing 13/2/82, 2/11/85, 4/3/89 hope I helped and go to Radio Plays, Radio Drama Review and there's a plethora of great info
I coildnt quite understand the ending; why did Richard tear up his rssignation letter and become elated after hearing of the german boy's relationship with the other guy?
@@michaelberg9656I feel a bit confused too, but I think they hint that they the actor and the German carpenter were actually the one’s to have killed Bruce and maybe they blackmailed the wife into confessing. The actor hated Bruce for turning down his advances, he probably found out that Bruce and the colonel’s wife were having an affair and used it against them along with Carpenter entrapping the colonel. Since the colonel was closeted, the actor could have had a relationship with him in the past and then used Wolf to start a relationship with him. I don’t know. I think that’s what they elude to when Richard’s friend in the bar tells him he saw the actor and Wolf together “thick as thieves,” prompting Richard to rethink his resignation. To see that he was right and wasn’t a Centenier for the wrong reasons. I don’t know. That’s just my speculation because I’m confused 😅
brilliant crime drama. Excellently acted. Thank you for a wonderful radio drama
This one has everything!
Even with the many sunplots and flashbacks, it still manages to play out clearly and effectively!
