Traditionally in Japan ‘Nomunication hour’ - a hybrid of nomu (drink) and communication, is after 5pm - when it’s cocktail hour and time to talk things over. The Seiko Presage Cocktail Time collection was inspired by this Japanese custom - with each timepiece named after drinks mixed by Hisashi Kishi, head bartender of Star Bar in Tokyo’s Ginza area.
Hisashi Kishi has created a menu of Seiko-inspired original cocktails under the theme of ‘Tokyo Magic Hour’ adding interesting sips to his already-extensive repertoire. One of which is the ‘Purple Sunset’ - Purple at the top of the glass and orange at the bottom, the subtle deep gradation is designed to look like the late embers of the sun setting over Tokyo skies.
With Dauphine-style hands and a date feature at 3 o’clock, this elegant Presage timepiece comes with a brown calf leather strap.
It features a 4R35 automatic movement that is accurate to +45 / -35 seconds per day.

I'm a proud owner of this watch, but I have to say that the thing, and basically the only thing that I dislike about this watch is the fact that they only gave it a mineral hardlex crystal instead of a proper saphire crystal. The light sometimes reflects a bit too hard off the crystal and the colors on the dial are sometimes difficult to see. Apart from that, this watch is truely stunning 😊

Punches above its weight for sure. I liked the taper on the crown - a nice touch. Logo on dial and signing on the crown a little large perhaps? Great review.

I bought the SRPE15J1 for a relative a few weeks ago, it's lovely. Have to agree with the comments re the lack of sapphire crystal, but a nice watch regardless.

Hi Barry, Seiko have certainly nailed it with this. It might have been better to make it part of the permanent collection it's that appealing.
The case appears to offer a superior wearing experience to the Longines featured last week, as the lugs are nicely angled which allows the watch to hug the wrist.

To be fair I think your right Bob due to the design its the more comfortable of the two thats for sure and the dial is just as interesting , overall its a bargain 👍🏻

*The hands are too short. The hour indices should be shortened 1mm & moved inwards by that exact distance. The hands should extend to one half a millimeter beyond the outside edge of the hour markers.*

I personally like the sides, I think the they deliberately shorten the hour hand so as not to be the same length as the second hand Joe
