ABOUT TIME! Some content with the limited run Mk8 Ford Fiesta ST Edition provided to me by the legends at Ford UK!
The question I will start with, you're a big hot hatchback fan and you've done your research where it has resulted in the choice of buying a Fiesta ST but you have been finessed by Ford's marketing strategy on which one to pick!
Here I have the opportunity to discuss and compare both Ford's special limited run Fiesta ST's; the ST Performance Edition and the ST Edition; both stand out from the crowd thanks to their unique metallic paint options
But apart from the colour choice, does either of these rare models often anything over a standard ST3 guise and does it provide value for money like a hot hatch should?, that's where it's time to watch and find out!

I have the performance edition st , 69 plate and 5300 miles on the clock. It gets used on sunny days so not very often. Great car to drive and I have Mountune m260.

Never been a fiesta St fan but very good video. Didn't think the audio was bad at all.
If you ever see me in person, I'll take you out in mine; epic cars - big problem nowadays is the inflation, it really is killing cars that should provide value for money like they used to

As an owner of a performance edition I rate the coil overs, the ride is excellent for such a low car with short wheel base.

I’m so pisssd that I missed out on a performance edition 1 owner immaculate 39000 miles for £15,950!!!! I’d Seen it had just been put online, so I took my son to school came back had a cup of tea went back online to get the number to ring Evans Halshaw …..and it was reserved ffs!! Rang them just incase and someone had literally just reserved it and was going to look at it next week, I was like…but I can come this weekend lol, obviously wouldn’t do anything as it had been reserved 😢😭

I sold my mk4 2019 Focus ST, 2.3T, because of the awful awful suspension. Electronically adaptive dampers and in any mode they were absolutely terrible on a bumpy road.
Where my previous mk3 2014 Focus ST would mop up bumps at speed, the mk4 would actually bounce me out of the seat over the same bumps, it was laughably bad.
Interesting to hear that the coilovers provide good ride quality.

Good video. Sound quality never put me off at all. I have the 2017 Focus ST3 but really like the orange performance Fiesta. Am I mad fancying a swap 🤷🏻♂️

I'd say if you don't need the bigger car (Focus is much more practical i.e. extra doors, more space in the rear and a bigger boot)

I was going to trade in my ST2 for an ST Edition, unfortunately the deal fell through, the dealership couldn't get another garage to release one they had in stock, I was sold on the Azure Blue 👍 Iam currently waiting on an ST3 and thinking about it, maybe it was a blessing in disguise not sure if it is worth another £1,500 over the car I have specified, gutted that I missed the boat I do like the Blue 🤦I think they will hold their value I think there will be one more MK8 special edition before a brand new model comes, hopefully they will throw more toys on the run out model 👍
Gutted to hear that Stephen, I had one of the first allocations for a 'PE' but had to let it go due to other priorities
If you're into modifying, it's probably worth the extra money as the wheels and coilovers alone would cost near enough the additional money Ford asked for, plus you can boast about having a limited run car
But at the same time, if you're not bothered about that, there just isn't enough noticeable changes to make you want to warrant the extra cash over a ST3
I doubt there will be another special edition as they already pushed the pricing too far out, can't see it really
Nevertheless, you have a Fiesta ST on the way; limited run or not you'll love it and there will be no regrets

@@PocketRockets Yep the prices for hot hatches are going beyond most people with normal jobs, the Ford Focus ST Edition is nearly £33k 🤦 but like you said your paying for exclusivity, most will be garage queen's, but I can understand someone wanting to keep their pride and joy in good condition but you have to go out and enjoy your car, I love my ST2 just wanted a few more toys on my car, keep up with your channel, good luck in the future 👍

Just to clarify, This is the same orange as the RS Focus Heritage as stated on the launch on fords website but different from the MK 3 & 4 ST Focus’s .
The £500 price hike between the edition & performance edition is the gloss black roof & mirrors, whereas the performance edition is all orange.
No it's not, Ford uses different paint codes as I said in the video; the Heritage RS is 'Tief Orange' and the Performance Edition is 'Deep Orange'
From pictures it may not be as noticeable but in person it is
As for the Mk3 Focus ST was 'Tangerine Scream' & Mk4 Focus ST Orange is 'Orange Fury'
Pretty sure the price hike wasn't the trim, more inflation and Ford cashing in; the minor trim differences are more to add some diversity from each car

The paint codes of Tief Orange and Deep orange are different. Even looking at pictures of the Heritage RS and the PE Fiesta, the paint looks different. I agree with Chris on the price increase, I think it is due to inflation and the fact that the ST edition is a newer model and there are also slightly less models being made compared to the Performance Edition. The performance edition has a matte grey effect front bumper near the Fog lights so the car isn’t entirely orange. The Performance Edition also has gloss carbon-effect trim on the interior where as the ST edition has a matte carbon-effect instead. So I don’t think the price difference really relates to the gloss and matte effects personally
They are the same colour, I use RAL 2011 when Iv painted them in the past .
Do they both get the factory coil overs or just the PE?
Both cars get the KW Ford branded adjustable coilover system Rui 👍🏼

You missed out the biggest difference from the Standard ST3, the LSD. This alone makes it worth buying
You could get a LSD with the standard car, just an optional extra
@@PocketRockets yes but it’s an extra, an expensive one at that. Have you seen the price on a fitted Quaife LSD
@taffyboy1978 But recently, before production ended, Ford included it with the car, so again not really a difference more a technicality/choice
They are expensive, so it's better to get from factory than aftermarket, especially if you financed the car

So its basically just been wrapped a different colour... no major to none performance upgrades...
It's not wrap, it's paint technically but yes pretty much different paint, wheels and coilovers over a standard ST

I agree, the lack of uniqueness/exclusivity over a standard Mk8 is disappointed, let alone the price increase but in the long run you'll probably see the residual investment more in either limited edition car over a standard ST version
