Great video, got my mk8.5 ST a few months back with only 6000miles on it. 3 door model in race red with all options inc. panoramic roof, its been fantastic so far. I had the mk7.5 ST for 7 years and loved it, now onto this and hoping for atleast another 7 years with the 8.5.
Great video. I have exactly the same sentiments. I love small cars especially living in Wellington NZ where the roads are narrow and parking spaces tight. One of my biggest gripes in life is why are cars getting wider and wider .Honda boast that the new CRV is wider and bigger than the previous model. I say bring back the original CRV- It looks better too! I have a 2 years old Fiesta ST3 and enjoy it very much. Every time I drive it , it brings a smile to my face. I also appreciate having 5 doors as I am a photographer. It gives great access to my camera mounted on my tripod in the back seat. Last August I did a 2 week , 3000km photographic trip, on my own, around the South Island. having a small car allows you to stop anywhere to take a photo. it just can't be done in a camper van. I was driving between two severe weather storms. I drove 900 km in one day to get out of the West Coast and head to Queenstown as the Haast pass was closed I was battling severe rain, fallen down trees, snow, pot holes and closed roads. I planned to stop overnight half way some where, but the car was so enjoyable to drive, responsive and with no one on the road I just kept on going. I did have lots of breaks and photo opportunities on the East coast where snow was more the problem. This car definitely is a grand tourer and people seriously underestimate the potential of this small car. As Webby says the power and torque helps, especially when over taking a long truck and trailer unit. I have 3 issues with the car; 1. Although noise levels are normal for a small car , I would like less road noise to intrude . NZ has a lot of coarse chip on the roads and the constant drone is quite fatiguing. 2. As with a lot of modern cars sound systems they got rid of the auxiliary port. I use a portable music player (Sony walkman) and plugging it in with a 3.5 coaxial cable is a lot simpler than using blue tooth or the USB C connection. 3. Apparently all the NZ Fiestas had a glitch in the navigation system. When directions are given out , if we wanted to reduce the volume of her voice we would turn the volume down when she is speaking. In future the volume would stay at this level. Unfortunately when she speaks again her volume goes back to loud. So we have to put up with a loud voice giving nav directions. My wife has a Ford escape with Snc 3 as well and there are no issues. BTW the Sony system in the Escape sounds better than the B&O of the Fiesta! I applaud Toyota for bringing out the GR Yaris, Hyundai for the IN32, and Peugeot for the 208 gti (electric) -keep those small cars coming. Ford isn't. postcript Major camera manufacturer can't survive on making cameras for Pros but it is a good ego boost to the brand. Why can't Ford keep the Fez as it is kinda a cult car and good for the brand. ps I previously have never been a Ford fan.
Excellent review of the MK 8.5 Fiesta ST. I bought a UK 3DR model about 5 months ago, which while impractical (door weight and length), matches my image of hot hatch. Like you, I can't fault the car and have already covered over 4,00km. The specs vary by country, but I managed to spec the car with the B&O sound system and the panoramic roof which I really enjoyed opening during the late summer months.
Great review mate. I have a magnetic ST arriving in Jan in WA. Have owned four XR4's over the years..but never a newer ST, looking forward to getting it. We're also getting a Focus ST in a couple of weeks...so will have the last 2 models.

Hello from Finland! 👋 I have Ford Fiesta ST3 2019 Performace Blue. I love it. It is 3 door model. I just dont understand why does Ford ends making Fiesta.I think that i will keep my ST and never sale it away. Great video i realy liked it 👍
@@WebbyOnCars in the UK the fiesta, and the ST are one of the best selling cars. Ford are having to go fully electric here by 2030, which has really messed the fiesta, and the focus up. The pumas are selling very well too, mini SUV etc, and is set up to adopt an electric motor in future. Guess they need to save money to develop that further. Such a shame, and I'm sure they will be losing a lot of sales in the short term

Got mine with 3 doors and with the sunroof and B&O options (and the performance pack of course) I've waited for so long to have it but now I've got a big smile every day I ride it. Ordered it in december 2021 and got it since early november 2022 (yeah... very long...) I've got a question for you: Do you think it's possible to fit side mirror with folding and BLIS option on it? I've seen that some mirror are available in spare parts, have to find the control panel in the driver side. But will it fit with all the connectors? Of course, it should require an intervention with FORSCAN or some software like that. Sorry for my english and have a good day!
@Remy Falempin Congratulations on your car, great choice! I’d imagine you’d be able to get the folding function to work but not sure about the BLIS as this would require additional sensors in the rear bumper.
The Fiesta ST MK8 and Focus ST MK4 were never sold in North America or South Africa, which IMO is a huge shame. And the other Ford of Europe ST product, the Puma ST, is not coming to Ozzyland, despite the Focus ST and Fiesta ST going away for that market. However, the Puma ST is very popular here in the UK.

I've still got a 2010 Fiesta Zetec (since new). Good little car except for recent bluetooth, usb, cruise control issues. (Ford claim it'd cost $1200 to replace...Car's only worth about $6K now) I've been tempted to upgrade to the Fiesta ST or Toyota 86/Subaru BRZ for years. The i20N seems a good thing too. However, it's the combination of cost, practicality & ENGINE SOUND of the 3rd generation Fiesta ST that I think edges it over the line. If my Zetec blew up tomorrow, I'd probably go for one (if Ford still has any left?).
@@WebbyOnCars I agree. I think the i20i has better tech, the auto blip, very decent brakes. I like that the Ford's more subtle + THE ENGINE NOTE apparently sounds like a half air cooled flat 6 (!) 🙂
I like the look of it , size etc. Yr right 320nm is big torque , so you don’t have to rev the ass off it. Q: the B & O sound system, which Yr did that finish? Good review my Man!
@mainman2999 It depends on how many kms you're going to be doing and what your want in your next car as this is quite different to what you're currently driving.

Sadly all I can do now is watch videos of these as my 7 week old ST is back at the dealership after waiting a year for it to arrive. It has a leaking windscreen and upon removal to refit and reseal it the heated screen wiring has broken. Ford can’t supply a replacement windscreen as they are on back order. Ford can’t supply the cars and they can’t supply the parts for them either. It was a fun 7 weeks while it lasted, I’m not holding my breath regarding getting the car back anytime soon.

Just placed a Deposit on what must be one of the last Mk8.5 into Oz (early March arrival at this stage) it'll be my forth and final Hot Fiesta 08 Mk6 XR4 (ST150), 17 Mk7, 21 Mk8 and now the 8.5. Cracking Cars. Currently own a 21 GR Yaris and while it's a weapon. Is in no way shape or form practical, nor does it give the smiles per mile that a Fez ST does.
i also ordered one new full optional 2 weeks ago... I hope to not to have to wait too long...in June I think that the production stop so I hope to receive a little before
It's not the end of an era. It's the end of the entire concept. People didn't stop wanting the small cars. Ford quit the availability of them a couple years ago. Let's not allow them to determine what exactly happened and the sequence of the events. Ford is quite enamored of the idea that an EV has no need for emissions certification and has half or less components than a combustion vehicle. They have sugar plums dancing in their heads thinking about the potential profit margins on the horizon. But, the infrastructure to power them is not in place.

I'm oldschool, I miss a CD PLAYER !! I don't do apple or carplay whatever that is ! so just the radio for me when I get one !
@mainman2999 CD players are getting harder to find in new cars these days as the majority of people tend to use Apple Carplay or Android Auto.

Those seats are definitely a step down on the old recaro’s. Granted if you are wrong side of 14st you will prob prefer the 8.5’s
