Lovely editing Johnny, great video! Not feeling this performance edition tho, the color is super agressive but then besides the wheels nothing else changed so it looks off. They should have added side skirts, front lip, bigger spoiler etc.
lemmykoopah Thanks mate! I feel a lot of people are a little underwhelmed, but the driving experience is improved quite significantly - that is something that’s quite difficult for Ford to market.
The interior is lacklustre imo. It needed for the standard ST3 grey piping / stitching to be replaced with the same exterior orange.

Another good video mate. Interesting what you said about the tyres. I'm sure mine has the ones that come as standard, and in the wet they are useless. I actually had the car sideways by accident last saturday. A pant filling moment I can assure you
baldrick650 Haha, all good. Pants can be washed! Super sports are a little more slippy in the wet than the Pilot Sports.
would have liked to have seen an airbox and big brakes from mountune too.

Clearly, this will be slower but they are a riot to drive. Good old fashioned fun :)
Given that the Mountune kit isn’t warranty covered, FMC could have applied this and given it a little boost to performance and covered it in the warranty without doing it after purchase and then invalidating it. I just don’t feel this is different enough IMHO. That said, nice video and thanks for posting 👍🏻

Compré hace un año Ford fiesta st performance 1.5 200cv. Es una máquina, sí té gusta conducir, éste es el coche, solo al arrancar ya sientes un empujón, acompañado de un ruido, que parece que estás en un coche de Rally, asientos recaro,una FLIPADA 🏁
A superb little car, I bought mine just before Christmas, and have done ~ 1300 miles now, so just about properly run in after a self imposed 3500 rev limit for the 1st 1000 miles. The suspension and gorgeous 10 spoke lightweight wheels subtly transform what is already good in a standard ST to another level of ride,roadholding and steering ability.
Is it worth the £extra .....damn right it is. The colour was off putting from photographs, but in the flesh it's ...very distinctive and appealing to these eyes.

Rev limiter is for engine protection. No need for extra mercy. When I got mine, in same day I banged rev limiter and used launch control all day long.
@@SpoolinShirley you need to educate yourself about running in an engine. Even the owner's handbook explains this.
@alan beard Interesting, one of the few people here to mention the critical difference between this and the standard car, I.e. the coilovers. Have you tried adjusting them to their softest settings (or one click shy of softest as KW recommend apparently).
I'd be very interested to hear what they are like over a series of big bumps at high speed.
These coilovers are soon to be available for the mk4 Focus ST, and I'm considering retro fitting them. The adaptive dampers (CCD) in the mk4 Focus ST cannot handle bumps at speed, even in their softest setting they try to pummel the bumps into submission when there is a series of sudden bumps together.

You chav. Honestly, get a real car, like a straight 6 BMW, not a tonker toy like all STs are. Real chavmobiles for those who lack finance to get a real sports car.
I have one on 1700miles now picked it up 1st of sept, i absolutely love it had to sell a mk5 fiesta zs for it, not regretting it though. I am surprised that there was no comment on the lsd coming as stock on the performance edtion, or the B&O sound system. But loved the vid all the same keep them coming JB CTR

And... That's why I found it a complete nightmare on getting a new tire on my Fiesta!! Shredded it in 2 weeks on having it, one tire cost me £180 to replace. Ugh.
I'll look into getting the Pilot Sport 4 when I need to replace them. The Fez is on 14k miles now, only had it 8 months. :-) Loving it!

Whether I am correct/not pretty sure that I have read that the coilovers are in fact a Ford painted version of these KW V3 COILOVERS
@@AlanBeardEfviUK they are, but they're setup by Ford performance. I believe even the springs are a bit different.

2:25 Might be good to say how tall you are. 5:38 OK, so the substantially lighter alloys, how much less do they weigh, alternatively what do they weigh?
I can’t decide whether I like the orange paint or not. I think it suits a bigger car like the Focus better. I do like that they went down the handling route for this edition.
Henry Healy I’ve got the Mk IV Focus ST in Orange but the dealer has told me it’s a slightly different shade 🤔 Not sure tho. I like both either way 😁
The Focus is Tangerine Scream, and this is called Deep Orange :)

they could have at least a mountune stage 1 on that. not just things you can put on your own like coilovers and alloys

I have 2019 ST2 can anyone tell me why there is a slit the width of a credit card on the console behind the gear stick? Can’t find out anywhere.

Are the 5 door ones any good? Like do they ruin the look of the car? I can't choose what one I like best I love the 3 door look but I feel like 5 doors may come in handy at some point
Edit I know they don't come in 5 doors I mean the normal STS
Very much personal preference. I find the doors on the 5 door a little small in length which can make getting in and out a little more difficult that the 3 door. However, if you need the 5 doors then you may find the rear ones useful.
If it was just for me great , but two kids and Mrs in an Focus ST is a squeeze I’m tall and sit back far there’s not a lot of room behind me

Having owned the mk8 st3 for 18 months I recently road tested the performance edition st and yep bought one there and then . The standard st3 not in the same league imo .

I have no idea if you have a background in video editing or phototgraphy but the editing in your videos really really stands out.
I mean at a guess it looks like you have 2 go pros or cameras (perhaps more) filming different angles and close ups. I mean putting the camera at floor level in a bush to get the good b roll is dedication!
A little tip... Get rid of the camera recording the dash (and subsequently the speedo) or if not blur the speedo. This could cause you so much agg its unreal, all it needs is one little twerp out of 10000 viewers to make themselves busy. Could reduce the chances of getting loaners from Ford again too. Just trying to be a helpful voice there!

In Germany we can choose the wheels and coilovers as optionals
felipe andre rodrigues We can in the UK too, and stick it on any ST. This is the only way you can get the paint and ‘exclusivity’ though.
Ford missed a trick by not using mountune bits on this to make it a bit more desirable IMO. Their map and intake and short shift would of made this a bit more special from the standard car.

Yup, they do but it's not exclusive to the Performance Edition.
Does it have a Limited Slip Differential
Yup, it has the performance pack included. Most ST's sold in the UK have the performance pack, so I forgot to mention it. It's bloody good though ;)
JB CTR So most standard ones you buy of Ford have the limited slip diff? When they where selling the old ones they made loads of ST2’s with performance pack & last of ST3’s on previous model had all the extras added to them
@@jamesbrowne7601 When you say 'old ones' are you referring to the MK7's? None of them had a LSD from factory. The MK8's have the option of the performance pack, which includes the LSD and here in the UK the majority of the cars sold have that option box ticked.
JB CTR What I meant was ford building them with the extras they always have a ST1 one with the bear basics but when you go to buy one they put you in the direction of an ST2 with extras you just have to stand your ground with price & say I’m only prepared to pay ST1 price & get a deal on price

I would rather the gun metal grey, with grey alloys and cup suspension! Orange is awful!
I disagree. Do not even know why Ford didn't offer that beautiful orange on the first place what they did for the previous generation of ST.
Everybody has Grey\White\Black cars nowadays which is fucking boring. Kudos to everybody who has some balls to introduce nice and stylish colors which brings some life to the rather dull and boring scene of cars.

Been put off buying another Ford not because of the cars nothing wrong with them. My problem with Ford is they have no quality control, how my car was delivered with more then one panel with grit and dirt in the paint finish its like it was sprayed outside and its not just that the paint finish is genuinely crap anyway.
I'll be getting rid of the back anyway.
The defect of this car: brakes. At Ford, they didn't understand it!
I could fit my 9 year old in a booster seat behind the drivers seat with out her legs being squashed. A few times a had my 2 adults in the back and it was stupidly Cramped..(and that’s the 5 door). If you have kids just forget this and get the focus..

I looked at that car in the showroom last week found it offensive . The colour I meanly, it’s like a big sign look at me I don’t want to attract any more attention . I did like the interior though if they had of done it in a range of other colours I think it would’ve been more successful . That’s only one person‘s opinion I’m sure it will sell well

These arent that good for the money really, the only thing better than most for the price is the LSD but if you have good tryes you dont really need it for this power level

Mine has no LSD ...and its dam hard to get the power down wheel hop 1 2 and 3 rd gear today its a st 3 so perhaps you do need a LSD ...

You get the lsd on the st3 as well. It’s seriously good bit of kit as it’s not electronic it’s actually mechanical
