That's a good lesson for everyone, inspect the connector.
Thanks for Watching!
Watching this, made me too anxious
THANKS FOR THE VID,,,,,,,,,, NEEDED A VIDEO TODAY JUST HOPED THERE WAS MORE THANKS FOR YOUR TIME 🙏🙏🙏
Your welcome! Thanks for watching!
Another great video as expected.
I love the channel.
I heard those ignition modules on Buicks are notorious for breaking (happened to me).
Thanks for watching!
Angasu,,,that's the sound my car it's making. Going try this. Thanks
Yeah, man, right on! Great video! I have a 2000 LeSabre and its notorious for those blasted ignition modules failing or cause misfiring! Cheers😁👍🔧
Great diagnosis video as always... Keep it up man
Thanks!
I love that there is a cassette in the player!!
Those were the days...😀
You’re video was very helpful thank you for making
Thank you for watching; glad it was helpful!
you are amazing and you have sharp mind thank you for sharing ❤ .
I have a question why you didn't go for testing can bus from ignition control module instead of taking cam and crank sensors signals ?
Thank you for watching! On this vehicle there is no Can bus it's a 1998. The module does send out a signal to the coils but the coil is mounted right on top of the module so there is no way that I know of how to measure that.
hey cool, thanks man. surprised at how fast you work. seem like it may be my problem as well, but we'll see :) peace
Thanks for watching! In my most recent videos, people complained that I move too fast. In the future, I will try to slow them down.
@@advancedleveldiagnostics no, no! thats good man! haha,, like i wish i could do what youre doing at a quarter of the speed. im sure ur busy tho… just, do how u feel i guess. howevers natural. we can rewind lol. much love bro ✌🏾
@@somenothing7914 Thanks; I appreciate the feedback!
Thanks for your time
Thanks for watching!
There was a shit-ton of information in that 11 minutes!
The cheat test for spark along with the pin locations for the connector was pure GOLD!
Now I know which pins for certain. Pins N and P I think.
My 06 Lucerne points me in the icm direction.
Thank you!
Thank you for watching!
Phil's probe failed for that ground check?
I have bad luck with the Phil's probe, It's most likely user error but I find the needles get bent and they don't pierce properly.
Amazing vid yet again
Thank you!
Could it have been the wires that connect the reference pulses from the icm to the pcm so the pcm knows there is a rpm signal
Im having the same problem
Good video 🔧😃🔧
Thanks!
Legend
Thank you!
Great!
Thank you!
i had 97 old same issues, and crank sensor, thing watch out for is wiring harness run next to harmonic balancer if some doesn't put clip that hold it in place it pick up ghost signals on the crank signal wires at 55 mile hour start bucking bad
Thanks for the tip!

Q..05 lesabre limited..replaced the fuel pump, filter and the fuel pressure regulator..Let engine run for about 30 minutes.. all is ok..Changed the oil and filter....ran for a bit...Two days later, engine will not turn over..Battery ok. Bench tested starter OK. Solenoid kicks in but engine wont spin...rechecked oil level...smelled gas on the dipstick. Fluid level was wayyy toooo high....drained crankccase. Removed the filter. Measured over 6 qts of fluid so apx 1qt of fuel dilution....The oil went in clean but came out pretty dirty..Crank shaft won't move...What caused the fuel to enter the crankcase??? Faulty new regulator?
ANy chance to recover from this ?? Thanks from Titusville Florida....
I would try taking out all the spark plugs and turn engine over by hand. I would think it's more likely a stuck open injector then a regulator.
Thank you!..Plugs 1,3,and 5. so far.....3 and 5 looked fine. Soon as plug 1 pulled from socket more fuel spilled out. Pull the back
3 plugs tomorrow. Can maybe pull the starter and get access to the flywheel with a good prybar...Maybe a socket on the crank bolt if enough access. Pan drain plug and filter still removed. Thank you ! @@advancedleveldiagnostics
Another good one 👌🏾👍🏾
Question. I have a 2004 buick lesabre doing the same thing, did you have any check engine light on because i dont. Ive been told the crankshaft sensor but surely that would throw a code?
I did not have an engine light.
@@advancedleveldiagnostics ok well thats good i guess lol. I just bought the car a 2004 buick lesabre. Drove it 2 n a half hours home with no issues. Parked it and when i went back out to start it, it cranks but no start. Pulled the plug wires to see if the coils would jump spark between them and theres nothing. It cranks for a few seconds, stops, then starts cranking again. Terrible i didnt even have it 24 hours. Fuel pump is working.
@@advancedleveldiagnostics i found out what it was on mine, the igntion control module fried on 1 port, the male connector and the female connector on the ignition control module itself both have to be replaced. Specifically the end that fried is to the wires that go down to the crankshaft position sensor. Essentially giving it the same result as in this video.
great diag, how do u overlay the pico capture to your videos? or what video editing you use? many thanks ❤
Thanks for watching! I use Capcut pc to edit, it's free and allows 4K.
How did you get the diagram on tablet for the wiring could you send me the link for the site please because so far every one I've down loaded has been wrong. I have an australian model 2009 ford fiesta 1.6 5 speed manual
I use Alldata it's a monthly subscription
Thanks UA-cam bad plug smile
Need new coil pack too. The module was drawing too much current because of a coil pack most likely. It need a few spares of those on had from the junk yard!
I agree, I think those coils were new after it stopped working. If not it was a mistake on my part not to recommend it.
Good troubleshooting! I have crank no start on my 2002 LeSabre. I'll need to look at these connections. I changed crankshaft position sensor but that wasn't the issue. Glad I did as old one smelled burnt.
Thanks for watching! hope you figure it out.
Were you able to fix it? I am experiencing the exact same problem
Nice fix . Well done
Thanks 👍
I have a 92 Cavalier with a 2.2L and it has the waste spark system with two coils mounted on top of the ICM. I've been through several ICM's over the years and have had horrible luck with most aftermarket ones.
I agree the aftermarkets just don't hold up well on these, Thanks for watching!
@@advancedleveldiagnostics A couple of years ago I bought a new AC-Delco ICM and two new AC-Delco coils for this car from Rock Auto. I put them on the car and after a week developed a misfire. I pulled everything off and put a Standard brand ICM and coils on it that I had and it's still working. I never tried to figure out what AC-Delco parts were bad and they are still sitting on a shelf.
@@Mr2004MCSS Wow! I had the same thing with a Motorcraft ICM, it went bad after 2 days, the aftermarket lasted a year so far. I feel like you cant win either way😀
