The video clearly states we will work on Asian/Euro/Exotic. Not just Exotic only. You guys are focusing on only exotic. We will still repair asian vehicles. Lexus, Acura, Toyota, Honda, Subaru. Maybe even film domestic cars. Just not work on Domestic cars. Sorry guys. These exotic-euro / asian cars are what Ive always originally dreamed of repairing. We will address it in the next video. Thanks guys.
I don't see the logic. They'll keep you busy and are generally easier to work on. But you do you! Edit: I'm so silly, you want customers with deep pockets that don't complain about a $400 brake job.
Well, not saying i would another not saying I wouldn't, I just like the feeling that if something catastrophic happened to my 07 raider, you could help me out, and believe me, it would be more than just bad coil. That's all. Sorry about my outrage. I really do love your channel and still think it's the best on UA-cam, even when you do things I don't like on YOUR channel, or YOUR shop, I emphasize YOUR cause it is after all yours and my views are petty opinions spouted out with a keyboard. I still think it's wholesome and educational. I'm not going anywhere, but I do love the channel enough to voice said opinions. Thank you and God bless...you should know that a 07 raider is really a dodge Dakota underneath, thats why I take offense

"There's a lot of engines out there that wouldn't make it to 50,000 or 100,000 without having these kinds of problems." Like exotics. Now I see the wisdom in your decision.
They're expensive to repair, the parts are expensive, so the 2x or 2.5x markup the shop charges on parts earns them more, and they have tons of problems, hence [cha-ching cha-ching] for Wiiiiizard. But most of the audience isn't interested in repairs on expensive junk, because only people that have more money than brains buy expensive junk that's always broken. And those rich people with more money than brains don't watch youtube videos on how to fix their own stuff
@@gorak9000 Car Wizard jumped the shark long ago about dealing with us plebs, have you seen the kind of sponsors they have now? (such as the very ethically questionnable BetterHelp)
Really? Last 10 videos: Mercedes Benz, Shelby Cobra, Dodge Scat Pack, Nissan 300ZX, Lexus GX470, Hyundai Santa Fe, Bentley, Mercedes Benz, Audi, Dodge Dart. Only 1/10 of these was an ":affordable American" car and it was a non customer car. Grimes' Dodge Dart was a mechanics special.
If you want an affordable, reliable, easy to repair car with a nice ride there is only one...or lets say three choices: Lincoln Town Car, Mercury Grand Marquis, Ford Crown Victoria. Ford Panther platform. All other bulletproof cars are of older vintage like the Chevy Caprice.
Hmm…. No more domestic or affordable foreign auto repairs …..I wonder how many subscribers will leave. Personally, I have very limited interest in Maserati, Ferrari etc repairs, I can’t relate to them and I can’t apply what I learn from them, to my own vehicles. Too bad for us common car owners, oh well, I enjoyed the channel while it lasted. Thank you Mr and Mrs Wizard for your past videos, I really enjoyed them and actually learned stuff from them.
he is a story teller - he doesnt show how to fix much. You have tons to learn from others in the space. There isnt much to loose with this - you dont loose his storytelling which is why most of us are here.
Agreed...guess I'll be watching a lot more auto auction rebuilds... sorry, I have zero interest in 99.9% of foreign and exotic cars... was always here for the domestic stuff and cars and trucks not to buy...not unsubbing, but if its all foreign stuff wont be watching much...
@@pdlegend6829I also agree. About 99.5% of car owners do NOT drive exotic or ultra-luxury vehicles. Videos about repairing cars that the vast majority of people cannot relate to, is a foolish idea. I wish him well, but this will probably be my last video from him.
I have to agree to a large extent. See how it goes. Maybe chasing the exotic market is more lucrative but I suspect the UA-cam revenue is mainly derived from regular car content.
@@pdlegend6829 South Main Auto, Pine Hollow Diagnostics, Car Care Nut, Toyota Maintenance. And Many others.. those are great for learning about fixing stuff.
He's doing what's best for his overall business, not necessarily the UA-cam channel. There's probably little competition for a shop fixing high-end European vehicles in Kansas.
That pressure tester reminded me of that scene from Austin Powers... "I'm telling you, baby, that's not mine. I don't even know what this is. This sort of thing isn't my bag, baby."
Flush out the dexcool and use green coolant,Change the intake and head gasket it'll last over 700k miles,a friend of mine did his 03 Regal has 716k miles and still going on that 3.8
I'm very happy for the Wizard's success, but... The reason I love channels like this, VGG, JunkyardDigs, etc., is because they're fixing up affordable American cars, and it's inspired me to fix up my own for a lot cheaper. I did my own rescue on a van because of these channels. It's certainly interesting to see how expensive it is to fix up exotics, but most of us won't ever be able to afford one. To me, it's way cooler to be able to save a beater and give it new life. Don't get me wrong, I'll keep watching! Wish you all the best, Wizard.
I spent 37 years (now retired) working for the fleet services department of a large city government. That's where I learned just how good the Ford Crown Vic 4.6L 2 valve was. I worked on cars, trucks, heavy trucks, and heavy equipment. All of it American except for a small part of the equipment. I have owned and still own several vintage American cars. I have no interest in anything other than American cars (with the single exception of rear engine, air cooled Volkswagens) and no interest in newer American cars. Definitely nothing with software, WiFi connections, touchscreens, spy systems, and driver interference systems.
Brother you summed it up perfectly. Saved me from having to type all that. I subbed when Hoovie announced the Wizard was starting his own channel. I’ll give it a shot but I’m betting I’ll be unsubbing now that the wizard has announced he’s metaphorically closing his channel. I wish him so the success, but that’s not my thing. There’s plenty more on UA-cam. I just unsubbed from the Goonsquad when they went from a rebuild channel to a “Dang Sauce” and merch sales channel.
Man!!! Seeing as I actually own one of these Buick LeSabres and have done tons of my own work... The elbow's should 'pop-in" and it helps to use silicone "LUBRICANT" and NOT silicone "Sealer or caulking" of any sort. Great cars. Thanks for sharing these repairs Wizard.... However.... If you really intend on focusing on foreign "high end" vehicles, then I'm probably going to not be watching very much. I can't identify with those types of cars, nor do I really want to. Keeping my simple older domestic car running is what I'm interested. It's the reason I found and love your channel!😒
Yeah... I kind of thought the same thing... Exotics aren't as interesting to me as a normal car. I wonder why the Wizard doesn't have two shops? There's a lot more regular cars and trucks that need $ervice than Lambos and Bentleys.
@robertbigler7743 absolutely! And the way they build these so-called normal cars these days... What are challenged it is to repair!! The audience is far more than just exotic cars and foreign cars. I think the wizard could Branch off into two channels.
Wow … this reminds me of my local mechanic in Pasadena CA whose shop worked on all makes but definitely had an upscale foreign profile. They were neither the cheapest nor the most expensive but did terrific work and were not afraid of complex challenges, which they always succeeded in conquering. 5 star reviews and an adoring clientele. Then all of sudden the tone shifted…starting when I got an outrageous quote for some routine work. Which made me search the internet for the very first time on parts pricing and it became clear they were marking everything up 100% in addition to charging a hefty hourly labor fee. Mind you I have never questioned an invoice and am happily willing to pay for highest quality work. They also hired a front desk staff to talk to us instead of dealing with their customers directly. I bailed..found a local shop near my office that does insanely great work for half what my former mechanic is now charging. Car wizard! Don’t let hubris cloud your thinking! Don’t forget whom you brought to the dance! I sensed some nervousness in this latest posting after you made the announcement…are you sure you want to do this??
I just did my 3800 lower intake manifold gaskets and replaced the harmonic balancer in a 2000 gtp in 5 hours. Thank you for showing me how to do the timing gasket! I should have done it while I had the balancer off.
Quite recently had an older lady bring one of these in to the shop I work in (I think it was a 2000) that had like 6,800 miles on it. Thing was absolutely mint, she's driven it once or twice a week around my fairly small town since brand new and maintained it pretty meticulously, despite not driving much. When I got a look at it, I felt like I got thrown back in time. It was super cool to see one of these things in such good condition after over 20 years. The vast majority of the things I work on have very high miles and are often neglected pretty badly. Quite refreshing to see something like that.
2 years ago I bought an absolutely mint '03 LeSabre from a neighbor for $300... "It's got a bad head gasket"... I'd never heard of a 3800 needing head gaskets, but I did know the intake manifold gaskets went bad and the plastic intake plenum warped. I replaced everything in the cooling system plus the heater core (easiest heater core job EVER!) minus the radiator, did the intake gaskets and a new manifold, a full tune up, and a front motor mount, all for under $700. Sold it to a younger guy who just had to have it for $3500. $2500 profit on a $1k outlay and a couple weekend afternoons worth of work ain't bad!
The series 3. 3800 is a piece of shit junker from hell. My mom had a 2003 LeSabre new. The engine blew up at 110K miles. New engine $4000 dollars please ma'am. LOL. The last 5 years of the final run of the 3800 were all junk. LOL
@@gregorylyon1004 You should post the whole story of what happened and why. Just to say that the engine blew up does not really mean much. Bought my Lucerne at 66k and has the Series III version and I am very impressed with it. I have almost 168k on it now and it still runs fantastic. The only weak points on the engine is the cooling system which is GM's fault for using poor quality intake gaskets and plastic elbows. My GF has the 2007 Lucerne with same engine and also runs fantastic. I find that most stories like yours are missing critical facts and are usually caused by lack of maintenance or just plain abuse. Lack of oil changes, Over heating engine but neglecting the repair ect.
I’ve followed your channel since its inception. To say I’m proud of you is an understatement. While you’ve crushed my dream of owning many old European vehicles, also you certainly save me countless thousands. Wishing nothing but the best for you, the family & Omega. ✌🏽
Hello from Australia!! The Wizard is right... the Buick 3800 engine was fitted to Holden Commodores in Australia for about 10 years...many of them still around with this beautiful engine. The welch plugs were a known problem and sadly it is an "engine-out" repair...BUT WELL WORTH IT in the long run. Cheers from Australia!!!!
In Australia the Buick 3800 V6 made its debut with the 1988 Commodore VN and remained in production until the demise of the Commodore VY in late 2004 - a total of 16-years. Notably the engine was revised with the launch of the more powerful ECOTEC version in circa 2006. In short, a very reliable long-lived engine with some inherent harmonic issues - so wasn't the smoothest of the 'V6 breed'. However, I certainly recall the welch plug issue as they were a 'pain' to remedy.

For youtube purposes bad decision to give up on cheap domestic repairs for content because most of us and most people can't relate to high end exotic cars, but it's your channel. Thanks for for the low budget content for us working guys.
I do find it entertaining watching some channels repair Alfa's, which are basically just Chryslers with a different badge on them and a different sticker price, but still have all the same warts and general garbage quality, but in a smug way - it provides me no actual value
I had a 2001 LeSabre company car I put 244,000 on it. The only problem was the plastic elbow leak that was repaired under warranty and the electric window motors. I had one window motor go out that had only been used a few times. Great car, comfortable ride.
Nothing lasts forever. Nice to see the customer is understanding. After this repair, it probably will run for many more years, and it only cost them a few brand new vehicle payments.

The O-rings that come with the Dorman aluminum elbows are trash. They only last a year or two. The trick is to buy the GM o-rings with the aluminum elbows.
I also had the same issue years ago. I used silglide to install, 1 year later they were melted. I contacted Dorman tech support a year or so ago and they said the issue was resolved. GM also makes a metal elbow. Not sure the part #.

That's sad to hear, I like seeing what breaks on mainstream vehicles. I understand why you are doing this, and I am sure the customers are better people to work with for higher end vehicles. But most people would expand greatly and double in size, hiring more people, and as owner, when all the expansion payments are complete, you'd get a much bigger payout. But, obviously you need to do more and would be in charge of more, you clearly do not want the stress. And that is completely understandable.

Do you see what's been happening in the American auto manufacturers mindset? They are only concerned with the shareholders bottom line, not those who actually buy this new pieces of junk from GM,Ford, and Stalantis . Stupid know it all managers who take simple principles of manufacturing and set guidelines for the engineers who know better but need a job for the next 10 years to put their kids through college. The Cadillac Northstar is a prime example of utter stupidity. So as these worthless pieces of junk are eliminated from the marketplace and replaced with better reliable, durable and longevity products we will still see stupidity in higher magnitudes. It going to be interesting to watch Wizard struggle through the repair videos, and there might not be many videos because these expensive European models owners might not want their cars videoed because of thieves and scammers .
Great video. I have a 2005 LeSabre and we've had to replace lots of plastic parts after many coolant leaks popped up in the past two years. The car runs great now.
yes the exotics that sit in garages & need refurbishment isn't the same as an actual car that does 8-12k/year. They're not actually operated, investment instead. = boring.
A lesabre can easily hit 400k with proper maintence. In my opinion its always worth fixing, as buying another used car you have no idea if it was properly maintaned.
Just realized the other day when I renewed my tags that I have been driving my 05 LeSabre for 11 years. Yeah I understand and agree with what Mr. Wizard says about these cars. The biggest reason I will hang on to it is because it survives my daily commute to work much better than most of the newer cars - it is half a mile one way to work, the most abusive rough service driving you can give a car without literally beating it up. I am scared of replacing it for that reason.
I’m not happy either, but guys: Wizard isn’t paying his bills with UA-cam money… This repair on a Buick costs 5 times more when done on an exotic. He built his notoriety on UA-cam and now he’s cashing in. It’s the smart financial thing to do, even if the channel might suffer for a bit.
11:24 - I've owned 2 2006 Sonatas (A 4cyl and a 6 cyl), a 2013 Elantra Limited and now have a 2016 Elantra GT Limited and haven't had a single issue... I also don't thrash on my vehicles and tend to keep the maintenance up to date. I ALSO change my oil on the 2016 at every 2000 miles even with full synthetic oil due to the pressures of the GDI engine (I'm worried about that, honestly). So far, so good. The only big deal on the 2016 was due to a chunk of ice on the highway that fell off a vehicle that cracked my radiator. There was nothing to be done about it. Luckily, it was so cold here in Missouri at that time it couldn't overheat even if it wanted to!
Hi wizard. Of course I have a 3800 puller. I changed my crankshaft position sensor so that is when I bought it. But my no start condition was a result of the ICM failing, which is a piece of cake to replace. I'm not worried about the timing cover gasket failing, as it will take me a long time to get to 280k miles. Plus how many 3800 engines have you see that had this issue? I'm guessing not many. Wizard, were u able to tell if it failed due to the car's age, or its mileage? Funny I just did my coolant elbows with the metal ones. Yes, I clean all the holes out well and I use new coolant on the 4, o-rings. Make sure you use pick tools to get out any plastic parts inside. The plastic ones typically break inside when you pull them out, or they were already broken before u pulled them out. The only one that doesn't seem to break is the big one that is near the left bottom side of water pump. Cheers ! Love my '02 LeSabre !!
Ohhhh Wizard! Man, I love that GM 3800 engine - it really is one of the best engines ever stuck in a car, but oh man...why oh why GM made that water pump/alternator bracket so complicated is beyond me. I've had many 3.8's, always check the coolant expansion bottle for oil contamination, also check the rad cap and oil for contamination. I pre-emptively performed the LIM job and elbows, a new LIM gasket, metal coolant elbows and you're all set.
Had the coolant elbow leaking slowly in my supercharged Bonneville. Took awhile to find the leak. Very common. I just had to add coolant every month. Eventually it became every week. I then added the copper stop leak and it stopped completely. Been running good for a year since and no more leak. $20 “repair” saved my $1600 car. Lesabre is definitely easier to work on than Bonneville. Way more space and no supercharger in the way. Replaced my supercharger belt and the motor mount is actually inside of the belt. Not an easy job for most diy guys.
The video clearly states we will work on Asian/Euro/Exotic. Not just Exotic only. You guys are focusing on only exotic. We will still repair asian vehicles. Lexus, Acura, Toyota, Honda, Subaru. Maybe even film domestic cars.

Like exotics. Now I see the wisdom in your decision.
Exotics bring him in way more money. That is what it really boils down to. Dollars and Cents.
So you didn't watch the video and listen what he actually said?
You guys need to learn to listen properly, he never said he's not doing affordable stuff, just not US cars anymore.
The wizard is 100% correct. I had a 3.8 Buick in my shop with 428,000 miles for an oil change. It ran perfectly. That engine is bulletproof.

Everybody's dream to find for sale.

I really don't care about exotics. That's a different class of people than the people that are watching your show
I guess he has to decide if he wants to be an entertainer that is catering to the largest audience, or if he wants to run the shop he dreamed of while making entertaining videos on the side.
agree
Next thing wiz will become a scrapper like Watch JR and weird beard .....like I wanna see some destroying cars for cash and collecting garbage.
As a European I find this so weird, aren't there regular people driving Eurpean brands? Or do you guys not have any affordable European brands?
@@Nucleosynthese my wife drives a Mini Cooper, and most people think it's fancy. They don't realize it's parts-bin-special from BMW. Further, I drive a BMW daily, and people think it's a sports car. It's a 240 HP wagon I use to haul kids, groceries, lumber, and my junkyard finds. Our Porsche 911 might as well be a Ferrari based on the attention it gets ...it's a Carrera Cabriolet 996. Ha.
A new Ford F150 base model costs more than any one of them-- any two of them if you go up a trim level or two.
The beauty of the 3800 is you could build it to be a performance engine if you wanted to.
As the L67 Series 1 and 2 and the L32 Series 3 supercharged engines have shown, the 3800 can take forced induction like a champ!
3800 Junk. LOL
They’re already decent for their time. GM says 200 HP but it’s probably 215-220 more like. Cars are just so heavy. For example look at how the Regals go. But yeah they can handle 400 HP like nothing without opening the block.
Congratulations!!!!! Looks like a lot of hard work is paying off, and that makes me smile.
Later this summer, I will be buying a 3.8 powered Buick(and using your checklists and advise).
Can't wait to see your next phase of business life!
I will definitely miss the domestic cars I’m hoping you get a few sneak through here and there for content because I know a handful of us love the domestic content
I’m English. This is the only channel I like for American domestic cars
Check out Rainman Ray Repairs. He actually shows the work step by step. He's a good family man, and his wife works in the office.
There is also South Main Auto. He's a little more gruff sounding but really knows his snit. He is also a good family guy with his wife in the office.
You will see real repairs from different regions of the United States.
Both get 👍🏻👍🏻
I hope you enjoy them.
You mean this is the only channel that you liked for American domestic cars.
Like most others I come here for the education. No interest in exotics for me.
The car wizard is smart. Exotic cars pay huge dividends in profit on repairs and on service. Some Ferrari models.get a $25000 dollar service. I'm not kidding either. In that theirs around a $7000 dollar profit for the facility. And the rich guy who owns the car doesn't have to wait till payday to pay the bill, unlike ma and pa kettle with a beater 20 year old LeSabre who are on social security and flat broke by the 5th of the month. LOL. That's why wizards going to exotic cars. Money
@@gregorylyon1004 Yeah I know. I don't care. I'm talking about his youtube channel. Never have used him to service my vehicles.
On your advice, we searched/found a 2003 LeSabre with 19,800 original miles. Near pristine condition. EVERYTHING works! In the past approx 18mo we’ve almost doubled the original mileage. It’s now our daily driver. It’s comfy and surprisingly economical. Other than basic maintenance, I had the spark plugs and wires changed. We paid $6,400 and couldn’t be happier. Thanks for your recommendation!!! BTW: when we encounter other ‘02-‘05 LeSabres, it’s always a nod, a wave, and a grin-it’s like a secret club!😅
Great! Another UA-camr fixing cars we can’t afford. Seems that is all I see lately. 😢
I wrote about the same thing.
@@barrygoldwasser5449I ageee I never even click on his high end car videos I love what reqular people can afford it ain’t gotta be all about exotics some of us like reqular car repair
You can't afford a cheap Honda or Toyota?
Aren't there any affordable European cars / European brands over there in the US?
Great video. I have a 2005 LeSabre and we've had to replace lots of plastic parts after many coolant leaks popped up in the past two years. The car runs great now.
Sorry to see you go, not interested in cars I can't afford. I am a regular guy trying to balance my budget.
Hi, it was really nice seeing you show us a little of the repair. Hopefully you can show more in the future.
Sounds like the end for me. Who cares about crap that's always broken.
yes the exotics that sit in garages & need refurbishment isn't the same as an actual car that does 8-12k/year. They're not actually operated, investment instead. = boring.
You are watching a repair shop's UA-cam. They're all always broken.
A lesabre can easily hit 400k with proper maintence. In my opinion its always worth fixing, as buying another used car you have no idea if it was properly maintaned.
That is really sad to hear wizard. Good for you but I can't be a subscriber anymore. I like to see the American cars too
A lot of American cars have foreign parts. The transmissions are mostly foreign made now
Thank you CarWizard for all the great videos. Great way to close out the domestic vids with the regular working peoples car. The Buick Lesabre.
That's a poor persons car. LOL
Half mile? Wow, that's bicycle distance
@@willg.5168 except for crossing a major 4 lane highway in rush hour
Car wizard wish you did more videos on Hyundai and Kia love those engines.
I’m not happy either, but guys: Wizard isn’t paying his bills with UA-cam money…
This repair on a Buick costs 5 times more when done on an exotic.
He built his notoriety on UA-cam and now he’s cashing in. It’s the smart financial thing to do, even if the channel might suffer for a bit.
Yeah , he was on Fox news the other day talking about which cars to buy and which to avoid .
What on earth were those engineers thinking?! What a pain in the ass. I feel your pain, only I wasn''t getting paid to replace mine. Great video!
Sad to hear you wont do domestic anymore, still here to support you wizard!!!
Nope, I'll watch better channels like Vice Grip garage or Sleeperdude.
@@themobseatlol
@@themobseat Yup
Wizard truly is like the Bob Ross of auto mechanic videos. Just the best.
Not gonna lie... This is a tough pill to swallow. As much as i love exotics, i truly look forward most to the used everyday cars like this, the ls400s, etc...
Its your business and your channel and you are so deserving of your success, but this is an abrupt change from what your viewers are used to. Ultimately, only time will tell if there will be a negative or positive change to the channel success.
No question it'll hurt the youtube channel.
Watch the video again and LISTEN!!! He didn't say "only exotics"!
Is the LS400 suddenly not Asian?
Stop. Think. Act.
UA-cam channel videos is one thing Mr car wizards shop is something else
I hate hearing that Wizard, you have such a vast amount of different cars and truck that roll in there.
His channel in now for the wine drinking opera crowd who use the word "Beamer" to describe their car.
@@themobseat I would not say that. But it is sad to see him stop working on domestic cars. That's part of the entertainment of watching his channel. I love all the weird and wonderful cars he beings into the shop. I get why he is switching, that was his dream and goal. Congratulations on hitting your goal. May God continue to bless you and Mrs. Wizard with even more success.
280,000 miles? Excellent! My 3800 developed an upper and lower intake manifold leak. Both were diagnosed and changed by my mechanic and so far, it’s been fine.
I love American cars and I watched your videos for that...
I remember replacing those elbows a lot when i first started working on cars in the early 2000s, pretty common repairs. Don’t think i ever seen the timing cover leak before
Thanks Car Wizard. Currently drive a buick century with the 3.1 v6.I have the same issue. Its a minor leak, prolly 2 to 3 shot glasses worth of coolent per 3,000 miles.Love my Mechanic which quoted me at 1600.Which I have no problems with. You are spot on.I did not have it fixed. One the issue is minor an 2 you've gotta weigh the car value vs putting down payment on sometin newr.#usedcarlife.
Very disappointed with foreign only announcement. Thanks for all the domestic education through the years Wizard but am happy for your success. Any suggestions on a good domestic car repair channel from viewers?
South Main Auto channel. Works almost exclusively on domestics and pretty much only does videos for the educational value of the repair.

That's too bad. See ya wizard, it's been fun.
Please don't cry sweetie. It's his business, his LIFE.
@@GS-sm3jo Why would you do that? Sick behavior. He doesn't owe us ANYTHING. His life, his dreams. He's gave us countless hours of entertainment. Time from his life. And here you are ready to take him down just because he doesn't work on murican cars in HIS OWN BUSINESS.
Good luck with the change Wizard. you gotta do what you gotta do.
Ill be here watching.
That announcement is a real bummer
Hmm.. kinda sad.
Everyone here reacting [and whining] like specialized mechanic shops are not a normal thing.
@nakoma5 Yea, I get it. Good wishes for The Wizard 👍
I don't blame wizard. American cars don't pay squat for a major repair facility. Ma and Pa kettle whine when the bill is a thousand dollars because they are either cheap or broke. You choose. Exotic cars pay for repairs. Thousands of dollars in profit per car. Ferrari and Lambo
I’ll never stop tuning in to your channel.
thats sad to hear wizard now i will have to find another honest mechanic
Well, I'm sorry to see your American cars going bye-bye, but I feel fortunate to see one of your last clunker vids is about the engine in my '98 Olds 88! I know the Series II 3800 had problems with coolant channels leaking in the intake manifold plenum as the cars aged, because it happened to mine, even though it's low mileage. It came within a whisker of hydro-locking. Good to learn that there's another source of leaks I didn't know about. Good luck to you as you realize your dream, Wizard. I suspect Hoovie will do his part to help finance your future!
Boutique Wizard Shop in Kansas?
Renaults, Jaguars, and Aurus? Oh my!
I've had many 3.8's, always check the coolant expansion bottle for oil contamination, also check the rad cap and oil for contamination. I pre-emptively performed the LIM job and elbows, a new LIM gasket, metal coolant elbows and you're all set.
Wizards announcement bummed me out, I don't enjoy stuff on the fancy pants exotics either.
