Can't tell you how much time I spent working on cars with my uncles growing up. Practically learned all i know from them. Great memories. This was fun to watch. Thanks.
The ST is a great car. I can remember back when I was 19-20 wrenching on stuff with my dad and my uncle. Learned a LOT from driving old jeeps that always needed to be worked on.
Yeah, it was a really good time! He works hard to make payments on the car and my first car was a tired old Maverick that needed work all the time so it's an interesting difference. I'm just stoked he's interested in learning more about wrenching and wants to do it with me.
I enjoyed watching a typical young person go from not wanting to work, to appreciating hard work. It's experiences like these that makes a better world.
what? an exhaust install with out revving the engine the engine a few times after removing the old exhaust and before installing the new one? blasphemy.
Cool Stuff! My uncle has recently turned into a car guy and we have tons of fun visiting the Pull-A-Part places in the Boise area finding items in great condition to replace faded panels, busted knobs, stuff like that. I've even found some performance parts for Mustangs that fit my Bronco, For example, found a $90 fuel regulator, pulled and paid $30 and it works like new.
I think that it's really cool helping your nephew get into cars so many youth nowdays have their head in their phone I am already starting my 5 year old son with helping me with my lifted 02 Ford F150!!
Hey I really wanna thank you for making this video! I didn't know that Flowmaster made an intake for the Focus ST that was 50-State Legal! I've had my ST for just over a month and I've been researching mods like cold air intakes and have been frustrated by lack of emissions compliant choices (I'm from Cali, where you get seriously dinged for having non-compliant parts) So after I saw this video, I went to Flowmaster's website and found an affordable CARB legal intake! Score!
I’m not a kid anymore but my 2018 Focus ST was way TOO quiet, a drivers car has to have some sound to help you manipulate the engine . A TURBO car has to have. a loud blow off valve an a loud intake sound and a beautiful exhaust note . In this manner you don’t need to look at the instruments you drive by sound and that is awesome. All of those sounds are necessary to get many smiles per gallon !
I love my ‘18 ST too but I agree, it’s too quiet. Just don’t have money to do anything and I don’t want to give dealers any reason to deny a warranty claim
@@ST62382 I'm in the same boat as you, my 18 ST is soooooo quiet but I fear to do anything because I know how easy it is to lose my warranty. They already found a oil leak and I know they were looking for a reason to warranty it.

You can hear the Turbo spin up , adds about 10 - 15 HP very noticeable, sweet Get this one you will not be sorry . These sounds will help you drive the car with out being riveted to watching the Tach

It's got a Cobb access port, Cobb FMI, Tial BOV, CPE rear motor mount, Velossa big mouth, Roush CAI, Cobb short shifter, MBRP catless downpipe, Roush exhaust, ATP GTX2867R gen 2 turbo swap so far. tune at 23 lbs put it a hair under 360 wheel horse on the dyno, around 6500 in aftermarket parts, 19.5K for the car... and easily 400 crank horse power. I love this car.

Best bang for the buck? The steeda clutch spring and boomba racing ultimate shift package. 100% guarantee as the best bang for the buck. Complete different car
For under $1k you could get a Cobb AP, FMIC, and Greenfilter and get a stage 2 tune (either Cobb OTS or pay for a flash tune). Catback is nice, but it doesn't really offer anything in terms of performance gains.
In my opinion, this exhaust is worth the install for sound and high end looks .... don’t even care about the slight performance improvement. All that other stuff doesn’t do anything for the day to day enjoyment and drive ability in traffic and such.
Exhaust is the best mod for performance cars. The sound alone makes the experience more enjoyable without considering performance gains. 0-35 with a great sound is fun even when its not ran hard.
I have a Question. When putting the rubber around did you cut into pieces or just put it on in one go? If so is there any whole when installing it bc if the rubber? Maybe I just installed it wrong maybe but when putting on the rubber then installing it there is 2 small open airways bc of the rubber. Please let me know.
They make great stuff, just VERY expensive. I wanted an option that had similar return on performance for a more affordable price to the beginner mechanic and we did it. We will get dyno numbers in a month or so and show the actual wheel gains!

Is it smart to push more boost with just a Turbosmart installed? Honestly wondering. Also, has he considered a rear engine mount? Our ST's lack LSD so I'm sure that sucker still has some wheel hop. Nice kit for the price, regardless!
Yes, I'm told that the engines are engineered from the factory to withstand more than the 4 psi this tuner can add. The engine mount is a very good idea... this video was just to highlight these VERY simple to do modifications for quick and easy fun.
Good to know, thank you! Every ST owner I've ran into since getting mine have asked if I upgraded the REM so I finally went with cp-e's and it's a world of difference. Mountune makes a great one as well for a bit cheaper if he's interested, careful installing that one upside down. Great video!

Nice video but I don’t know if I want to speed a K to get a few HP and change the sound. And putting a blowoff on a stock ST as your first mod is questionable. I know it was done before the video. I did like the exhaust and I really like the ST.
