This video is really pure gold! I enjoy listening to score music but I had no idea which instruments make which sounds. Now I finally have a general understanding. Thank you!
Excellent as usual!! I am struggling with my music. I did a course with the Open University in the UK and bought VI instruments and Synchron Instruments. I have created a large number of melodies but I have never made a full orchestral piece. I have been sick for the last 24 years and I have been trying hard to make my life as good as possible but I need some help. Your videos are great and they really inspire me. I hope I will be able to make my melodies into a full orchestral piece one day. Thanks a lot for your time, you're a good man.
Start by adding da beef/chordz, 2 da melody. Da rest iz Arranging & msyb doing nterested movementz of different nstrumentz, n2 those chordz. Listen 2 lotzo Clsssical, 4 nspiration & study Counterpoint & other Compositional trickz of da trade. BEST WISHEZ!!!
Buenas Marc, increíble tu trabajo, darte las gracias por todos estos vídeos y compartir tus conocimientos, que para los iniciados como yo son como una biblia. Un saludo y gracias.

Thanks a bunch Marc! Which orchestral library are you using in this video? I guess CB stands for CineBrass, and then CSS is Cinematic Studio Strings? And which reverb are you using? Sorry for all my questions. 🙂
Hey Steph, thanks for watching. That's correct! I use both of them :) Here's the full list of libraries I use, hope it helps! composinghacks.com/ PS: I use various plugins for reverbs, mainly B2 from 2CAudio and Altiverb. There's a reverb video coming in a few weeks, stay tuned!
What do you about the lowend rumble present from recording in nearly all libraries? Sometimes if i low cut them you can still hear them in stereo so you would need to cut a lot more from the original sound.
I wonder i it's a good idea to copy other peoples music for learning purposes? i find it like pretty overwhelming to be honest... there's so much to know and it's kinda hard to pinpoint where to work on to get better.
Work with Marc & Chris Young (Spider-Man). Grow as a composer and get career opportunities. Small group. Apply to MOMENTUM here: bit.ly/mmmylc
No one on YT taught these basics as clearer as this.. Great. Thanks a lot
This is how I hear music, in sections. I did not realize this until watching this video. Very enlightening.
