Please get in contact with Nils Frahm. He is a really talented musician who has a philosophy that every piano has a song it wants to play. i'd love to see what he does with your pianos
All the above!!
I think that a good video title and idea would be: I invited a viewer who coincidentally also happens to be a pianist to play on my modified pianos
You should totally hire a pro pianist! I’d love to see their reaction 😂
Hire a composer to compose a piece specifically for that instrument (and then a musician to perform it).

This must unmistakably be a Hammer Piano for anyone who does not understand the difference between a pipe organ and a percussion instrument.
What's next for the most discerning music connoisseur? A ballistic piano with strings activated by gunshots? But don't operate that in a school which is a designated gun-free zone. Also make sure that ALL activator-guns point AWAY from the pianist.
Your determination to finish this project despite ALL those setbacks is inspiring af! 🤯

These pianos need to be put in a museum as art pieces anyone can play.
Pianists: this is piano abuse.
Engineers: this is genius.
I'm both and honestly I'm equally appalled and fascinated 😂😂
as neither of those, i can safely say this is what i think the reactions would be
I learned that some musicians of the early 20th century put stuff such as bolts and screws to their pianos to create new sounds.
Sooo does that make him a piangineer...or maybe an enginianist ..lol
mmm
true
My neighbor told me that when he was a kid he put brass thumbtacks on the hammers of his school's piano to get the "twang" sound to jazz up "boogie woogie" songs. He said he got into a lot trouble for it, but that it worked! He demonstrated this on his own piano at home and it gave the piano a very unique sound.
That's a rather common technique, if you play ragtime on it: instant Saloon feeling. It's known as a tack piano. By modifying the hammers you(or someone with the right tools) can also make it more mellow
Honky-tonk pianos. Dad had one like that.

I have seen and heard a “player piano”, the one with paper rolls, it had a curtain that when moved down allowed rivets to be stuck. This gave a “honky tonk” sound. Good for jazz.

I like to think this is how pianos were invented - someone just smashed a harp with a hammer, and thought it sounded good.
Smashing a harp with a hammer is called a Dulcimer. Lol

MATTIAS, MATTIAS, MATTIAS!
The hammers and piano wires are both conductors of electricity. You can create something with that principle like connecting led lights so each time the hammer strikes the piano wires they will light up. You can now also use your piano as a midi controller or map out the piano keys with just about anything. Surprise us.
Genius!
I think u should find a way to tell him, maybe discord.
I like this idea....an old-school way of making new technology come to life. Each string could be a different degree - or shade of color....in a rainbow effect or a prism effect. OR...each string could be wired to a different telegraph key and you could hammer out coded messages. For instance, if you played a Wagner piece it would mean the Nazis are coming....but if you played the Beach Boys "Good Vibrations" it would mean that California finally fell into the ocean....and on and on it goes.
But he painted.them already
Very shitty midi controller because there's no velocity information
Piano controller
This is great and it must have been very laborious. :) Of course, was it good to destroy the new pianio (full armor), which has a good mechanics? That was very bold. :) As a pianist I have to believe that the pianio had an irreparable defect, such as a cracked cast -iron frame, etc. :)
I have a very old pianio at home (1910 - beautiful design), which had upper dusters (Vienna mechanics), half armor and practically cannot be sold - it was not possible to tune it. But, I removed the drive and I placed the sensors from the electric organ (Casio with dynamics and pedal) above the keys. An old piece of "furniture" plays again, like a pianio, organ or saxophone. :) Inspiration for the next video? :)
They put it into GarageBand too.. WTF 😂
What piano?
@@milesdavis8136 as VST ig 🤔
Now call the piano technician. Tell him that your piano hammers need "voicing" and "needling".
"Voicing" is the process of shaping the hammers to adjust tone quality.
"Needling" is a process of "fluffing up" hammers that become compacted over time.
(I'd like to thank Aaron from the Music Practice & Theory Stack Exchange website for explaining these two words).
LOL! ... and adjust the weight of the keys
