Everyone's talking about no one will ever sound like Chester. But dude, can we just acknowledge the fact that Matt's voice is just completely obliterated here? Dude toured so much and gave so much energy. Could never say no to the fans and blew his voice box like 3 times
I may be the only one, but I like his scream singing voice in the later albums better than earlier stuff. He can do so much more. I saw A7X around City of Evil, Nightmare and Hail to the King and he was flawless everytime. I didnt know he blew his voice out so many times, but I'm not surprised. They tour like madmen.
That's cause no one will ever be Chester. Most of these artist are playing outside their comfort zones trying to hold up to Chester's style, breath, and tone. M Shadow did pretty good when it came to the screams but there was only one Chester. Honestly, Matt did good

M Shadows and Oli Sykes broke their vocal cords at this time, but they still performed. So great of them to honor a very loved and talented musician's legacy. They're love for music is strong too.

Oli's voice is a lot better now. Shadows on the other hand seems to have fried his vocal cords again, he played in Rock in Rio last week and unfortunately his voice was cracking and failing at some points. Hope he recovers quickly.
Chester is a legend and no one can take it away but M.shadows is also a legend himself and had an unique voice as Chester did. You can check out the concerts they did 13 or 12 years ago when Rev was there too. when he didn't tore his vocal chords
Originally Matt was only supposed to sing burn it down but Gerard way from my chemical romance backed out a day before the show and they asked if Matt would be able to do faint to. So they brought syn to do some guitar stuff as well.
I love this concert, its like a bunch of bands and singers coming together to comfort a fellow family, the feels in this concert.. you can tell they're all performing their hearts out in honor of chester A7X know whats its like to lose a fellow band member, thats why you can tell despite Matt's busted vocal chords at this time, he's giving it his all. Jimmy and Chester are probably rocking it out without a doubt up there proud, giving the *afterlife* one hell of a concert
Crazy as hell to realize that it's now been 5 years since Chester's passing. I smile, and also become sad, everytime I watch Saw 7 and see him in it. Hate for anyone to suffer from Depression, in any way. His voice though, no one could ever replicate it, that's for damn sure.

There are some artists capable of "recreating" his lines in some songs. I know of no one who can sing all of them the way he used to. Chester had an extraordinary voice. Rip Legend

Matt did awesome on both this and Burn It Down, but I'm just imagining how The Rev would've sounded singing either song if he were still alive or Matt doing this when he was still singing more in the tenor range 10-15 years ago.
The fact that this was done in between the legs of the stage tour, is impressive. We all know that after that tour of avenged sevenfold disappeared for a while because of Matt's voice.

Crazy how Chester and Matt's voices have an almost same level of grit and cleanliness to them, yet are so polarly opposite in pitch. Chester's was so high and Matt's is so low.

2008-2011 or 2003-2004 m shadows would have fucking slayed on this. His screams were so good back then, too bad his voice was in such bad condition here
since the last album The Stage (2016) he was kinda struggling to sing some high notes live, so at that time his voice was really damage. he was even forced to go through surgery to fix it and a7x had to cancel a tour
