Everyone's talking about no one will ever sound like Chester. But dude, can we just acknowledge the fact that Matt's voice is just completely obliterated here? Dude toured so much and gave so much energy. Could never say no to the fans and blew his voice box like 3 times
I may be the only one, but I like his scream singing voice in the later albums better than earlier stuff. He can do so much more. I saw A7X around City of Evil, Nightmare and Hail to the King and he was flawless everytime. I didnt know he blew his voice out so many times, but I'm not surprised. They tour like madmen.
That's cause no one will ever be Chester. Most of these artist are playing outside their comfort zones trying to hold up to Chester's style, breath, and tone. M Shadow did pretty good when it came to the screams but there was only one Chester. Honestly, Matt did good
@@jonathangodefroy5346 it sounds decent on the stage album. But when they do their older stuff live it just sounds so weird. You can actually hear the difference in his voice. It's honestly not that I don't like it, I just wish he would take some time off BEFORE having to cancel shows because he blew his vocal cords again, just to try and save his voice, ya know

The fact that m shadows sang with these guys makes me really happy but also sad at the same time I feel him and Chester would've been really good friends if he was still alive

here he sounded weak for about 11 years pre 2010 he was sick but hes just damaged his voice to much

There are voices that are similar and then there are voices so unique that nothing comes close to them. This shows how unique Chester's voice was.
Funny that M- Shadows also has one of those unique voices.
Its hard to agree 100% with u. If The Voice seems a little out of place here its because shadows is a baritone Singer while chester was a tenor.

unique? M.Shadows literally destroyed his vocal chords singing on city of evil and nightmare I'm pretty sure he is a diaphragm singer which isn't good for your throat he still sounds good though.

We absolutely need a studio version of this. Live sounds good, but Matts vocals were a little rough cause he just got off tour before this concert. In the studio would sound absolutely insane, could almost beef up the drumming a bit too, let brooks run wild with a solo or something. This gave me goosebumps

I love this concert, its like a bunch of bands and singers coming together to comfort a fellow family,

M Shadows and Oli Sykes broke their vocal cords at this time, but they still performed. So great of them to honor a very loved and talented musician's legacy. They're love for music is strong too.
Oli sykes is not a singer and cannot sing to save his life at a gunpoint.

Chester is a legend and no one can take it away but M.shadows is also a legend himself and had an unique voice as Chester did. You can check out the concerts they did 13 or 12 years ago when Rev was there too. when he didn't tore his vocal chords

Crazy as hell to realize that it's now been 5 years since Chester's passing. I smile, and also become sad, everytime I watch Saw 7 and see him in it. Hate for anyone to suffer from Depression, in any way. His voice though, no one could ever replicate it, that's for damn sure.

There are some artists capable of "recreating" his lines in some songs. I know of no one who can sing all of them the way he used to. Chester had an extraordinary voice. Rip Legend

@@hardpunk8 I can't recall his name or band, but he's a Japanese singer who can scream really well, has an extraordinary voice as well. It wouldn't sound exactly like him, but he's able to do some of Chester's screams

Matt did awesome on both this and Burn It Down, but I'm just imagining how The Rev would've sounded singing either song if he were still alive or Matt doing this when he was still singing more in the tenor range 10-15 years ago.

I really wanna hear Shadows perform with them again now his vocals are healed and he's in top form, he's so far from his peak and has a vocal injury here and he still sounds great. He's not trying to sound like Chester either which I can appreciate.
Matts doing a good job, but it's a shame his vocal chords were damaged at the time.
When did his voice change? Around what here? I am a very casual fan of AS, hence my question.
since the last album The Stage (2016) he was kinda struggling to sing some high notes live, so at that time his voice was really damage. he was even forced to go through surgery to fix it and a7x had to cancel a tour

he was taking care as much as he could to not get hurt anymore and continue singing for more years

Crazy how Chester and Matt's voices have an almost same level of grit and cleanliness to them, yet are so polarly opposite in pitch. Chester's was so high and Matt's is so low.
