Corgi refurbished Ford Zephyr Estate and Motorway Patrol No. 424 & 419. Diecast model toy.

Ford Zephyr Motorway Patrol No. 419 was produced by the Corgi factory in the years 1960 - 1965 and it was one of the versions of the Ford Zephyr released on the market. At the same time, under the number 424, the Estate version of the Ford Zephyr was also sold, with two-tone painting. In today's video I present both twin models. Fords differ from each other in details. The police Ford is white in color, has a beacon, antenna and siren attached to the bumper. On the other hand, the second Ford is characterized by only two-color painting. My copies required a variety of repair work. Among other things, I made a new window using the vacuum thermoforming method in the police version and I also repaired the antenna in it, which was broken. I made tires from molding polyurethane dyed black. I also present two types of boxes in which these models were packed. This is memory time! My dad had a white Zephr when I was a kid the saloon version ( sedan) it was full of rust I have a picture of me as a baby holding a toy car on the front wing (fender) of it my dad sold it because of the up coming 70's fuel crisis! It was only a 4 cylinder not a 6! Lovely resto and for the time capsule.

I have restored 3 of these. The civilian car I did in metallic orange, the Police versions I did a straight restoration in white and another in black with white lettering on the bonnet naturally. I think I even bought a high quality repro box for one of the Police cars. Lovely models. I found the baseplate difficult to remove especially on the civilian estate car and it became slightly damaged. Well done as ever Paul.

Exzellente Arbeit. Zwei Modelle wieder in einen absolut sammelwürdigen Zustand versetzt. Diese Restaurierung war mehr als erfolgreich.
