- How to EASY and simply connect and set-up active subwoofer to ANY speakers or TV, PC, AV system or studio monitors with no Subwoofer Output - it does not matter whether they are PC multimedia speakers or Hifi floorstanding and bookshelf speakers. Simplest way how to connect subwoofer to your small speaker at home. Do it yourself (DIY) and scare your grandma. All you need to do is duplicate the output of your sound source - you just need a 3.5mm or RCA splitter and you're ready to plug in your sub. It really is that simple. This way you can also connect multiple subwoofer or speaker systems together.

connect hi fi to pc mobo and woofer to headphones , works :)
If these signals coming out of the splitter are stereo, then you're only getting a L or R signal to the subwoofer. You'll want at least a mono signal to the subwoofer.
it's not that simple, almost all music mixes bass freq works in both channels, also most subwoofers has 2 RCA inputs, that combine left and right channels inside. If you has subwoofer with only one LFE input, that simplest way is just buy or solder stereo to mono splitter :)
I love ur commentary:3
Thank you. You were very helpfull.
Glad it helped!
Can we use this type of connection method by taking an optical-toslink out from TV and then using a decent quality external DAC that has RCA/aux out. I have a Dac that has only one RCA out so will it be fine to put an RCA splitter and and take two connections, one directed to an active subwoofer and other directed to the main amplifier.
Cool!
Now I know what AUDITING BRITAIN does in his spare time.
I would like to use my sub woofer from hk Soundsticks. Please advise. Thanks in advance.
Hi, I have a question. So Can u hook up a samsung ps-wk450 wireless subwoofer only to a Yamaha surround sound reciever?
Nice bro
I dont know if you still read your comments but, my speakers have a headphone jack and connect to the pc via that. The subwoofer wich is 11 years older has an slot where it says input, where headphone jack is supposed to go into the slot can i just connect my speakers to my subwoofer and then my subwoofer to my pc?
I have Mackie CR4 speakers which consist of one passive speaker and one powered speaker. I want to connect a subwoofer that has 1 line in only(no other in/outs and no power cables). Is there any way to connect it with Mackie?
You need one more time, more carefully watch my video. You don't need to think about your speakers. You need a splitter from your sound source.
@@Techscrews Okay.. will try it today. Thanks for helping out :)
i have a sub with a L and R ONLY (rca) *not plugged in*
I have a sound bar thats L and R rca that combines to a 3.5mm jack that is plugged into my pc.
How do i connect the sub?
I have a sound bar (bluetooth) and a subwoofer (wired). My sound bar has RCA port as input but no output, and my subwoofer has both input and output. Is there any way i can connect both the devices and listen while connected to bluetooth. Please help
Can you suggest on the possible options to connect an active Subwoofer (additional) to the existing traditional sony 5.1 Home theater which by default give High level ouput to Passive sub....?
What I want to achieve is would like to use Both active and Passive sub from the same High level output signal from rear panel sub connections???
please give models of devices.
Can we use single RCA ( either White or Red cable ) to connect splitter to subwoofer or is it dedicated RCA single line ?
When need to fix 2 stereo active speaker bar which having wired connections , what is needed to use for plitter side connector , at the speaker end i suppose need it to be paralled
better for subwoofer use stereo sound, two rca, that give higher input level.
Excellent video. I'd like to connect the subwoofer of my Logitech Z623 2.1 to the speakers Edifier R1855DB (These have a sub out 3.5 connector). The thing is, the subwoofer only has 2 types of imputs, (1 RCA white and red and one 3.5 green) and doesn't have outputs whatsoever. The subwoofer has a power cord but not a switch on a and off, it is controlled by the right Logitech speaker (through a weird serial-like port). I'd appreciate any guidance you could provide me with.
simply connect logitech green 3.5mm to Edidier 3.5mm sub out, this port give sub freq and logitech works like regular active subs.
@@Techscrews thanks a lot mate, most appreciated.
Sir, I am planning to buy Edifier T5 active subwoofer. It doesn't come with Bluetooth option. Can the subwoofer be connected to a normal Bluetooth soundbar with AUX ? I want to use the subwoofer as a Bluetooth audio system. Your input would be helpful.
Yes it can with an appropriate splitter
@@RaniRani-zt2tr thank you for the input.

I'm having a hard time deciding which way to go for my first setup. I don't plan on upgrading since the used market isn't really an option here in India.
the main issue is whether I should go for speakers+sub+amp or active speakers + active sub. from what I’ve learned, passive is the way to go for better flexibility, whereas active is the way to go for cost efficiency.
budget is $200, with a future sub upgrade planned. should I get a 2.1 amp or go for active speakers since I'm not gonna mess with the setup at all except for adding a subwoofer later?
I have a klipsch r100sw and alesis elevate 5 mk2s would this work for that js wanna make sure before i spend my money
yes, it would work, but i recommend use studio type subwoofer, which has a built-in audio crossover for speaker ouput, that cut off low freq from small speakers and sound resut will be more better and louder.
My situation is pretty sad. I have a reciever with no pre amp sub connection, and my subwoofer has no wire connection, only a single LFE port... i can technically connect the sub to the line out port with an adpater, but the volume will not be adjustable through the reciever, but only from the main signal source (phone,pc)
Is there any way to approach this differently?
Where is problem adjust volume throught main signal source ? What kind of model is receiver?
@@Techscrews yamaha RS-202
Has no sub out, just an RCA line out probably for recording or something like that
Its stupid that they didn't dedicate a sub out
understood your valuable info thanks, why does my sony sa w305 having speaker out channels there which never gets sounds if we connect external speakers to it.
Is there any thing to do our selves to activate it.
Pls reply, thanks
it's high input level. This subwoofer has two inputs, low level rca and high input, when input signal take from power speakers. These not power outputs.
@@Techscrews so what's the use of speaker line out there
@@boydpriyanthamendis681 where ?
@@Techscrews in our sa w305 having speaker in and out prs. So I am asking what is the usage of speaker out there
I always forget if it is the left or the right you want it hooked to? It is the one side of the symphony that produces all the bass so that is the side you hook to.
therefore use subwoofer with two rca inputs, at this moment i have only this old Pioneer subwoofer.
@@Techscrews as long as it works
Would it be possible to split a speaker wire like this? I have a sub with speaker level inputs. I would like to connect my amp to both my speakers and the sub via speaker wire. However, I am unsure how to do this as I’m unfamiliar with electronics.
But for that sub has rca inputs ?
@@Techscrews the sub does also have line in/out. Looks like RCA (it’s the real speedwoofer 10Smk2)
@@wyvern132 then where is problem connect it like in this video with splitter ?
@@Techscrews My amp does not have an RCA out, only speaker wire out. The amp is where the volume control is.
I would like to connect my dac to my sub and then from the sub to the amp, but I do not have a subwoofer out from my dac
Sorry my bad, I didn't think up of connecting two speaker wires to a binding post (1 by banana plug, other by looping the wire by the hole). Realize my mistake
New Help, have this klipsch sub 10 subwoofer, Trynna get it to connect to my edifier R1280db. Dont have a receiver just a whole lotta RCA cables, Let me know!

Trying to connect to a Polk DSB2 subwoofer that is entirely wireless to a different brand soundbar. The only cord that is connected to the subwoofer is the power cord... no input or output jacks. Hello I connected(one end) the 3.5mm to my pc and the other end(RCAs) only one to the input of my powered sub. I turned it on and I can only hear the lows. Now my sub has output for speakers using wires. So my question I guess can I just easily connect those speakers to the output of my powered sub and thing will work fine? Hi i need help, ihave edifier s1000w and i plan to buy polk hts 10 subwoofer
How i can connect? Iwant to use it with my tv
I use optical cable
I just connect RCA to RCA from speaker to subwoofer and then also connect it to optical?
there are some problems, because toslink cannot be split like rca and speakers dont have sub out.
Simplest way is use tv 3.5mm out and split it to speakers and subwoofer, then set both systems max volume for your taste and then change sound level only with tv remote, that will change sound level simultaneously for both systems.
@@Techscrews oh okay so i need aux cable and 4 rca right?thx for the tip
Is it possible to add subwoofer to Bluetooth speaker with cable??
No.
If I have a passive subwoofer, does it still work?
Yes, but you need amp for it
question , why is there a DX3 ? I'm confused
you can use any sound source :)
What's the link for audio source?

@@Techscrews I have a new amplifier who doesn't have sub out only
Not gonna affect sound quality of the subwoofer?
I mean wont high frequency leak out to the subwoofer speaker?
I thought subouts are special because it only reads bass and sub bass
it doesn't affect the sound quality, most subwoofers come with an audio crossover where you adjust what frequencies it should play.
Does the 3.5mm splitter affects the sound quality in both speaker and sub?
Not real
uhm. you’d really wannna sum back the L/R signal i think to the sub. you just hooked in iether left or right channel which is quite odd.
my woofer doesn't have a power cord it's says 70, watts do I just connect it to the soundbar?
Its passive subwoofer, there need amplifier before connect it to sound source.
@@Techscrews I Did it it has steel wires on it I connected the wrong one I connected it to port on sound bar now it works
Yay now my sub is going to playing frequencies it’s not supposed to
therefore use subwoofer audio crossover
