4:29 so many channel try to explain that cables from amp spkr (B sets) to sub then to front spkrs but it's hard to visualize the connection from what outputs of the subs to front speakers?
I am really old school currently with a very simple panasonic receiver...it only has one line input and two speaker outputs. I want to buy an active subwoofer. Using the Panasonic receiver and line cables it will mean keeping the subwoofer near to or underneath the receiver. Your video helped more than any other so far. I picked up cheaply a newer system with a subwoofer speaker output. It's flashy and bulky (Sony GTZ2) but it'll do. Thanks for your presentation.
I had been using the LFE on my 2 channel system (Emotiva amp & preamp, Klipsch RP-600ms), even though my sub has speaker level inputs and outputs. Just wasn't able to get that full sound, even with a Douk T8 Pro EQ added in. Hooked it up the way you described using the speaker level connections and now it is soooo much better. Finally got it dialed in like I wanted to. Many thanks!
Feeding a powered subwoofer from the output of an amplifier seems wrong to me. The powered sub would want to see a line level signal I would have thought. Maybe I misunderstand something.
I understand your connections from the receiver to the sub but on your sub, and my sub, there is no connections for output to the mains… so then what!? Please reply.
Great tutorial. It's the best I've seen actually. My AVR has a sub out so that was easy. My other gear is older so I use the speaker level ins and outs and it takes the bass load off of my speakers. I'm not a bass head but I just like the low end extension.
I honestly love using high level imputs and outputs. It makes it great for having deep bass on a stereo system. I don't know why but I hate how surround systems sound.
Yet another confusing video on how to do speaker level connection. The video shows you connecting the wires from the receiver to the sub INPUT connectors. But no mention of how the signal is then passed to main speakers. You do mention that IF the sub has speaker level outs then connect the mains to those. But on this svs those arent present. So now what?
Dude You Connect the receiver sub out to the SW input there a 10€ male to 2x male cable, I hope it helped you, there also sub out to the receiver. I just read the manual lol. So I connected.
Hi Mike thanks for review perfect video I have klipsch fives and sub SVS1000 pro could u say how can i contact together it’s mean how much volume and crossover , phase i can choose to best result thanks 🙏
Your soundbar needs to have a subwoofer output to be able to use the Kenwood sub. If that’s the case then hook up your sound bar through optical or HDMI Arc to your tv.
So I have a Rel1003 and I am trying to connect to a Marantz pm6007 with a dedicated sub out(single). Bought a QED sub cable and am a little confused as to where to plug in, can you help pls.
Can I connect a subwoofer with a high-level input without speakers? Will it harm the subwoofer or amplifier? I want to buy a subwoofer on the secondary market, but there is no way to listen with speakers, there is only an amplifier.
So I've got 12" woofs in my 70s-vintage JBL L-65s. Wondering if I'll really gain much by adding a sub, and would it need to be more in the realm of 16 inches to be effective?
Hi Mike, amazing review..Can I ask a quick question, I am complete beginer in this HT journey, just bought myself a Kef Q950, Kef Surrounds, Denon x3500 (old one from my cousin), SVS SB1000 and AudioaLab 7000a.. Currently Denon is running the Surround and Centre, and the SUB.. Audiolab is running as pre-amp with those Kef950s.. I am currently happy with the setup, but want to try connecting SVS to AudioLab... Not exactly sure with the cabling part, will it be a Y Splitter type RCA, 1 Male to the "In" socket in SVS to 2 Male RCA in the Pre-Outs sockets in the AudioLab
I have an onkyo HT R560 av receiver. It’s a 7.2 home theater system. Bear with me because I don’t know how to talk all this jive. I purchased four Polk art-800 series home theater speakers along w/ a center speaker and a velodyne ct-100 subwoofer. I have no clue what wiring is needed or how to install the subwoofer. Help!
I have vintage adcom preamp and amp separates, no A/B speakers option on preamp, only one pair. no "speaker out" connection on svs sub. I used main out 1 for amp and main out 2 for sub. Many dont have 2nd main outs. how would i have added sub without it? I guess to use a RCA "Y" if had only 1 main out to go to amp and sub...
I have two subwoofers connected to a 1,000 watt home theater system. I had to cut the power to them because of people in my neighborhood whining about it, LOL!
Be aware of class d amps and connecting to speaker taps for high level input to your subwoofers. I have fried 2 subwoofer amps doing this because the class d amp did not have common groung between the minus tap and the chassis. If you are in doubt, please send an e-mail to the amp manufacture or the store where you bought your amp for correct instructions.
So not helpful. No idea what you're saying. Too fast. Not explaining well. No idea what your terms mean. I'll find someone who will explain slower and better.
This video is very hard to listen to. The sound is hyper compressed and irritatingly unnatural. Your voice is rushed and anxious sounding. The topic doesn't specify a powered subwoofer. Make the required adjustments please.

I am glad I could help and happy that you're enjoying your setup!
flashy and bulky is nice

I hooked up my subwoofer as you suggested, by coming off of the receiver to the subwoofer, then from subwoofer to speakers…….works perfectly 👍👍
So what if you only have RCA inputs on your sub, one LFE. Is it best to plug into both or the non-LFE for a musical application? Thank you

This is great information
Thank you for posting, it’s helping me with my set up

Thanks for the support Mike! It's way easier with the sub out and line level in for sure.
Very helpful, thank you!
You’re welcome
Very good. In a nutshell, all you need to know without blah, blah, blah. Thank you.
You are welcome!
What is better a passive or an active Subwoofer and does this tutorial apply to both

Yes.

My question exactly

That gorgeous and amazing Starke Sound subwoofer with XLR. I daisy chain 2 x stark sound subwoofers.
That is a good way to go. You got some nice bass in your system!
@@audioarkitekts Best XLR subwoofer in the business that will get the wife approval. Desmond at Starke Sound is a genius.
What is the subwoofer coaxial input on a receiver for??..And what does switched and unswitched AC plug ins mean?
Do I need a Y-type XLR cable to connect Perlisten D212s with Denon AVR AH1?Or can I connect using a single XLR to one of the outputs?
Explained BEAUTIFULLY. Thank you
Have you ever thought about trying an active highpass filter when integrating subs?
I have considered it, I will definitely give it a try in a future video!
@@audioarkitekts Im about to try, hopefully all goes well!
I have two bass units, when going to main speakers with speaker wire, the same way, would this, ground out the system , bass to main speakers

how do you connect KEF LSX to a sub from the wharfedale dx-2 surround sound system?
I have a sound bar. And a 12 inch Kenwood subwoofer. I wanna use the soundbar for the speakers. How would I go about hooking that up to my TV?

Most concise video yet.
