Elizabeth has a great sense of humour and very astute observations. I’m so sorry what’s happening to lesbians. You do great interviews Carol - you’re such a great voice in this space. No bullshit! No dancing around the facts. Elizabeth said it best - it’s meeting trans identified people that will fast track women to terfdom. It’s easy to swallow the ‘be kind’ blackmail if you don’t have to interact deeply with the trans identified themselves. I started out in 2020 congratulating my trans identified relative for being stunning and brave and a few years of transy antics later (including him going ‘stealth’ on dating apps) I’ve ended up as peaked as the Himalayas.
I think this is such a good point. And it’s why I say it’s great that the worst of them are activists… let everyone see their true colours when they’re showing themselves so clearly!
Great interview. Carol, I hope that as a man I wouldn't have to prove too much for us too be friends. Back in the day gay men and lesbians may not have been the best of friends but I feel like that could be changing among us who are GC or sex realists. I've certainly learned a lot about women's issues and especially lesbian issues since the time I was peaked. Maybe that will be one positive to come out of this insanity.
Ugh pretty sure YT auto-removed my comment. I don’t want to re-type the whole thing, but as someone who was in a relationship with an auto gyne phile, the subreddit mypartneristrans is full of awful stories that are basically my exact experience-uprooting your life to support someone who inevitably just cheats on you because he can’t keep it in his pants.
Conquering corporate culture? Scary. The best comparison between how gays and lesbians are treated that comes to mind is that society treats the two as Mary Musgrove and Elizabeth Elliot treat their sister Anne Elliot in Persuasion when the Elliots are about to leave Kellynch. Mary wants Anne to come and stay with her in Uppercross where Anne will be essentially an unpaid dogsbody, to which Elizabeth responds that Anne had much better go as nobody will want her in Bath.
I’m impressed she went through the peaking process at such a young age! 00:37:40 that’s a good point, that criminalization acknowledges something exists.
It's heartbreaking to learn how Elizabeth was affected by this even at school, and that it made the homophobia she faced feel insurmountable. A generation ago, lesbian and gay teens were told "it gets better" in a big campaign, but it got much worse for them.
In Britain you have psychological and medical whistle-blowers from the very top of the tree. In America, they tend to have relatively peripheral jobs (still doing great work, of course). Why? I suspect it's because Britain has this joined up nationwide healthcare system, where profit is not the motive. In American healthcare, money talks.
Thanks Carol for this important content. I really appreciate I can listen to it. I have just one suggestion. If it is possible - maybe you could improve on the audio quality? It is somehow very sharp to the ear. Maybe the high frequencies are too much on? Otherwise - thanks again! Greetings from Latvia!

Operation, “Let Them Speak” has been a most successful initiative!

Thanks for your reply.
Love the image used as a stand in for you know who. Couldn't be more appropriate!

Excellent discussion. The more I listen to these experiences the braver I get. I really need to come out as a TERF.
Great 👍 interview Carol and Elizabeth

Really powerful for me, thank you.

It takes money to do that. Which I don’t have a lot of at this piont. I do my best with what I have.
