Hey, Alexandra! I love your site & try to watch every week. The reason I left a negative on this makeover is because of the choice of wallpaper. I just can't see what drew you to it OR why you thought it would work for her. On the good side, this is the first & probably only one that I don't like. I've watched how you've grown & you have got such a good eye for color & flow. Please keep up the good work. AGKB
I’m so happy you selected Jen’s home. I’m part of a FB group for questions about interior design and the corner fireplace conundrum comes up quite a bit.
Love the livingroom. Felt the old fireplace fit perfect with the new stuff without new tiles. The entryway dosn't feel AG. Mirror could be way bigger, a little bit to many carpets, wall colour and floortiles ❤
Alexandra, I just got your book and it's really wonderful. I love all the helpful instructions but what I appreciate the most is how elegant everything is! You've given people permission to be sophisticated and that's a great 🎁 gift! Thanks for all the beauty you release into the world! 💐 💐
It's exciting when you can inspire a client to really run with their style choices. She has a very eclectic, bold vision for her space. You have shown her that it's fabulous to live her dream. Kudos to you.
What a smile on her face and reflected in the space decorated gives that same smile. Rounded and wonderful colors.gimme gimne gumdrop colors of taste. Thank you for a lovely vision to explore, Victoria
You have just grown so much in the years I've been watching! Every room you do now is different from previous ones. You're an interior designer, Alexandria! I enjoyed this one a lot. I'm really a warm neutral gal, but this was Boho Luxe for sure, and I didn't hate it! ❤ Very sophisticated!
Loved the Boho luxe design!!! Since you can’t clone yourself, virtual design is a great idea. Sometimes we know what we want but don’t know how to put it together. This is like a recipe. BTW, does Graham come with the design recommendations? 😂😂
I love this format of video! I can totally understand that full make overs are a lot of time and money, but I feel like this is almost as satisfying I’d love to see an update if she implements your suggestions too. Looks like a cute and fun space
I so much appreciate all the ideas y'all provide when you make modular type things that look built in but are renter friendly, and you say they can take it apart and move with it. Do you think you could ever show how to take certain materials apart? I'm wandering specifically about when you caulk something into place, how would I take that apart without ruining the piece?
Generally it can be gently peeled off the wood and then use a small putty blade to remove heavy leftovers. Next use a bit of sandpaper. You will have to retouch. I've done this and it works very well and is not as difficult as it sounds.
Cause it wasn't a transformation. It was a new start. Didn't you watch the beginning? Jen was a digital nomad, going into the makeover she only owned one table thingy, a tv and a small rug. You don't get to complain when you didn't even watch it.
Wow I hate it 😂 But I love that Jen loves it! ❤️ I thought this was going to turn out way different from the inspo pics, but I guess I’m just drawn to different elements from them than what Team AG ran with, which is so interesting. I gravitated towards the more Scandi midcentury-modern aspects from the inspo with the green/teal/blue pops of colour (writing this while sat on a teal green/blue velvet sofa!), and the glam/luxe elements from the velvet and gold/brass, so the Anthropologie and Lawless Design pics (top left and centre) were the ones that spoke to me most. Though I do love what you’ve done with the entryway and dining area (though I wonder if the curtains were serving a practical purpose, if that window is prone to glare from the sun? Asking from a west-southwest-facing London flat with huge windows which is basically a greenhouse, at least in the afternoons/evenings for more than half of the year… 🥵) - and I hardcore covet that dining table! It’s exactly what I want in my space and have been looking for… alas, no World Market in London! 😔
I love it all, except the choice of wallpaper. I don't agree that her inspo photos look boho. I actually think they lean much harder into the space-age, sputnik side of mid-century modern. I think a more geometric wallpaper would work a lot better.
I have been bine watching your videos for days now. I honestly love the simple approach to designing that you have. You make us feel like we can do this. My take away from this vid is to pick a few colors then add variations or different tones of the same color! Game changer for sure!
I’ve watched nearly all of AGs makeovers and this is the only one that I didn’t care for but I am not the client and life would be boring if we all liked the same things 😊😘
Does anyone know how the make overs work financially? Do people give a budget which can be spent or is it usually gifted? I'm wondering because considering that Jen said the console was a splurge, the choice of furniture sounded as if it could be too pricy. I really like the peacock table and that the console got to be more in focus. Apart from that I find the mix of bright patterns too busy (especially considering the inspo). Basically every single piece being a statement piece takes away from those that should've been one (the sofa, the table, the console, the fireplace). Also, was researched whether the contact paper is safe for fireplaces?
This is really random, but I would love a collab between you and Dear Modern! He does feng shui and I feel like it would be a great addition to your beautiful decorating 🥰
Love that we got an extra video! And that is the craziest, most outrageous and hideous design! Glad she likes it:(. However, the virtual design concept is fun!
Watching from Dallas Texas. I started watching your videos during the pandemic it was such a great distraction from everything. I have like several pinterest boards for how I want my apartment to look and your videos have given me so much material to work with. Especially Milanote!!!
what a cute space this will be! I worry about the peel and stick tile on the fireplace, tho. I mean I get covering it up, but isn't it tile so it is fire resistant? Isn't putting peel'n'stick there a fire hazard? Or don't you use the fireplace then? :D
I love how there is so much variety in design choices on this channel so it's not same same. It keeps me inspired and pulls me out of my design style comfort zone to consider something different. Keep up the great work Alexandra :)
Oh wow this virtual makeover is so beautiful, once again Alexandra you have done a fabulous job in designing Jen's space. Thanks so much for sharing this wonderful video, have a beautiful day, sending love and hugs, bye! 😂🤗💜💜💜
Will we see a video when she has done the make over? I’d love to see how she’s done it! I love the finished look of it but are you sure about peel and stick for a fireplace?
It strikes me as a terrible idea to have peel and stick/non-fireproof tile on a fireplace but maybe someone who actually knows about fire hazards can chime in.
If it is gas, it won't get hot enough to burn but could come off because of the temperature changes. If she burned wood, it could be a hazard. However, she lives in a warm area so that seems unlikely.
I doubt she ever uses it. She lives in California lol I live in Texas and I can tell you that none of us hardly ever use the fireplaces, they’re just there to look pretty lol
@@PrimasJewell I grew up in central CA and have many friends all over the state and they absolutely use theirs. Now that I live in NY it strikes me as unnecessary and deeply weird lol.
So cool to see the designed rendered so well. I’m a new student for Interior design and am doing research in rendering programs. Can you pls share which program you used to create this virtual presentation? Thank you! Love your videos!
Find it hard to understand why a designer would decorate with what makes them happy . I think Jen said sophisticated and refinement. Follow-up would be great. Like to see what she ended up doing. I'm stunned, because I've seen you do a lot better Alexandra.

I love the virtual makeovers. Can you do a follow-up 6-12 months later, so we get to see the end results?
I would love this!
excellent idea!
Yes would be great. I loved the design and would love to see it coming together
please!
She likely won't answer this one though I wish she would do follow ups.
What did we do to deserve a video on Thursday? What a perfect surprise! 🎉❤ and Seriously. When I get a new place I am stealing this design.
whatever we did, let’s do it again…and again😂
@@joycedavis9996 😂 yesssss!!!!!
Hahah I thought the same thing!!! So exciting to see it on Thursday 😊
You are the best Alexandra!! 💕💕💕
I'm so glad Jen liked it! This was not my cup of tea at all but the client was so happy and that's all that matters in home design 😊
yeah - I honestly didn't like a single thing about it except for maybe the sofa, but it's not about me, it's about Jen - glad she was happy with it.
@@1TigerJo I usually love her makeovers, but this one is soooo bad.
I cried when I heard thatArticle gifted that sofa to Jen . The design is so awesome . I hope she gets some plants too . I love this design style .
I didn’t cry but I was very happy and excited for her.

Me: *sees alert about new AG video*
Also me: *checks calendar* wait, it’s not Saturday!
Also also me: I’m not mad about it.
Video Idea: People submit their layout woes and team AG can make recommendations! (Always my favorite part!)
Do you ever do a follow up after they do the makeovers? That would be a really great way to tie it up!
Another great video.. I'd never normally comment on anyone's appearance but I absolutely love, love Alexandra's hair colour right now. Its stunning.
Yes! It is stunning. Is it red? I don't know. 😂 It's a color that keeps you guessing. Have I ever seen a color like this before, and if not, why not?

The peacock table, love, love, love.

Yay! A surprise video from Alexandra on a thursday!! 😍😍😍
And what a fun virtual makeover 😊
Ahhhh I was just telling my boyfriend how much I would love a makeover from you!! Makes me happy to see a fellow San diegan also watching you!

Love all your videos and how they've changed over the years. Thanks from Costa Rica!
Is there a part 2? When do we see Alexandra’s design actually implemented?
that's what i was waiting for!!
I think it’s just a virtual makeover to show her what she can do with her space
I love this format of video! I can totally understand that full make overs are a lot of time and money, but I feel like this is almost as satisfying

not me just finishing the last video before this one and going huh what will I watch now.... and BOOM a new vid!
The fireplace tile next to the wallpaper? I don't know.
Thursday video! What a lovely surprise, and on my birthday as well! How did you know?? 😂
This design is so fun 🩷
I liked the design very much. I’d love to see her new space if she shares it with you.

When people ask for this kind of help do they generally give you a budget? Some of the reccomendations seem really pricey.

Love your channel abd all your makeovers....have for years...your hair is so extra pretty with the new color...you look marvelous
Love the Cali-boho luxe plan!

Fab Fab Fab!!! ❤
I know you posted a link for us to purchase a virtual makeover but is there a way to submit our homes for a UA-cam makeover like this one?
How Fun is this!!!!🎈
