Hey guys! Noticed a lot of you wondering about the tv. As Alexandra mentioned in the video, we were waiting on a tv stand that Jordan and I ordered and it arrived a few days after the makeover took place. It's now sitting on the console table/dresser and looks great! We knew this going into the reveal and agreed that we would add it afterwards. We've been watching tons of Netflix and enjoying the beautiful gallery wall behind it :)
So you gave up the dresser and added a console and TV instead? what happened with the dresser then? The makeover was very pretty but now I just feel it's confusing and the results are not actually what was presented
Everyone is talking about the clothes rack and TV. I would have liked to see a new cat tree. The whole reason the cat was scratching the old couch and the new one is because they don't have a scratching post or cat tree anywhere in the apartment!
Cute ! Although sometimes I wish you would address the more practical side of things a little more. For example, I would have loved to see you design around the TV monitor, as I think that’s something a lot of people struggle with. Or what happened to the clothing rack? Was there any storage alternative you implemented instead? Something we all struggle with especially in smaller places is alternatives to these common problems, and although it may be more practical than solely stylish, I think a lot of us would appreciate if you touched more on them. Very impressive makeover nonetheless, great job as always :)
Christine Valdes sometimes people don’t want to share their entire apartment which I understand but at least give us some practicality in the space you do show- there was no explanation of where the clothes went and no organization at all. It was purely aesthetics
Mia Hecht exactly! She said she was going to let them get a tv stand or a new tv but so then basically she just got them a new bed, couch and tv stand? Seemed a little like she was just getting them a sponsored couch/furniture 🤷🏻♀️
There’s a lot of rentals that aren’t stark white too. I would love to see more vintage apartments with dark trim made over that aren’t so dang white. I honestly am just a bit sick of the overuse of white spaces. It would be super cool to see her furnish an apartment with thrifted furniture, I ended up furnishing my entire apartment with thrifted furniture under like $20 for each piece. I feel like a lot of these more affordable used pieces aren’t stark white either, and I’d love to not see her slap white paint on anything 😅 this is more geared towards everyone though, white spaces are so insanely overused by almost every makeover youtube channel out there
I have enjoyed DIY Dannie and lone fox lately they are all friends lol but Dannie did this crazy vintage baby room and lone fox did his roommates room with a stucco paint and his dining room in a darker blue it's pretty cool
Not really what you said, but I love these channels and their videos came to mind: ua-cam.com/video/d32Ypfz_5TM/v-deo.html ua-cam.com/video/lxQQnIIl2Os/v-deo.html ua-cam.com/video/dhhk4AXN-BM/v-deo.html
Ooh, she has done a couple of moody spaces (including one of the Studio Fix episodes) and they're gorgeous ❤ Look them up if you haven't already seen them. Inspirational.
She's done that a few times. There's a kitchen with only cute coffee mugs on the shelf. Bathrooms with only toiletries, etc. She's been trying a variety of other styles, and several have been minimal designs. It's not HER preference, so it's a challenge and her first attempt was , dialed down but not quite as minimalist and true to that style. But to be fair; it is a learning curve, so don't be mean. And, to do minimalist RIGHT is waaày high end and over budget . It calls for basic pieces made from stunning highly textured natural materials like weathered driftwood, marble, hand blown glass, etc. I'm sure if you give her that kind of budget she's got the talent to get the job done 😊
I know that Article is a sponsor, and obviously makes beautiful furniture - I gush every single time and Alana deserves it! But they're hardly cost-effective and I would love if you made a video of more affordable furniture alternatives for couches, etc. :) Loved so much of this though - amazing.
Thank you!! I hate when UA-camrs sponsored by Article always say “affordable”. Affordable to whom exactly?! IKEA is affordable, for the most part, and these Article sofas are literally 2x the price of the expensive sofas at IKEA. The sofa in this video is $1300, that’s not affordable. They’re beautiful sofas, but I wish they would at least show a comparable affordable option.
@@yari139 I agree, I was thinking there is the soderhamn sofa that is comparable, or even vallentuna which has unique sofa bed and storage features! but People need to treat this as inspo and find more budget friendly options. The bed idea is neat but have you ever seen the cost of cane webbing?!
Zoe Emiko thank you. I was going to jump over and look at them as I’m in desperate need of a small sofa but not at that price can I afford. 😞 No need in window shopping …… 🤷🏻♀️😞
I love your style and you definitely know how to pick pieces goes so well together. Although, sometimes the airy, light woods, whites, and pinks make the room feel too femme, even for me. I would love to see how you design a space suited for a couple who wants a more gender-neutral style.
she said they could put the TV back on top of that wide dresser in the living room. I'd assume that the cat's bowls are in the kitchen, which we didn't see, and the bathroom has the litter box, right? It looked to me like there was a clothes closet at the foot of the bed.
@@candiceklein6813 except that if that cat has claws it's going to tear up that velvet don't leave the cat and the couch together if it's declawed it should be okay trust me I recovered a couch took me months cuz I didn't know what I was doing and when I got done at 2:00 or 3:00 in the morning that time I woke up my husband's cats had totally shredded besides because they weren't declawed I was so furious there's not even words
Love what you did to maximize the space, but I would have just painted the leather knob inserts gold! Save so much work and they look cleaner than screws. Also that fairy light idea is cute, but seems so impractical to turn on and off.
Ikr? Then I watch a 6 month update youtuber decor channel and then she actually admitted her article sofa wasn't comfortable at all and it was a regret to purchase it.
What did she do with the tv? I like the spaces you create but there seems to be a theme of not addressing necessary items in peoples homes. Yes a tv/monitor is not a necessity, but if they already had one should you not undertake the 'obstacle' in the design? I hope to see more content addressing designing with these things in mind.
@@MamaKits Thanks for pointing that out, but thats part of my question :) Why did she not make the tv part of her design or include the stand, this is a very common item to have in a home so I 'd like to see how she deals with it in design. It is also very clear at the end of the video when the gallery wall is shown that if a tv were to go on that dresser it would block part of the gallery, again deterring from design and not functioning within it.
I really like what you did. It turned out really cute. However, I think you should have worked their tv in there somewhere because if they went to the trouble to mount it on the wall then it's something they use a lot. Just my thoughts.
Yes, cat loved it. Am I the only one who realized the green fabric, though lovely, will soon be covered with cat hair? Maybe add a cat cozy throw over it? Love the light hack. Maybe cane webbing is expensive, but you seem to get a lot in a roll to use for other projects, or perhaps sell the excess to recoup some of the cost.
Huge win with this one! The space looks so much brighter, bigger and cleaner! A fresh coat of paint can change the world. I loved this headboard hack, so easy and on trend. Also the rug and those gold legs on the dresser.
Love the round pillow with the huge ball fringe. Totally going to make myself one. The recipient of this makeover was very deserving and we're happy for her.
I really LOVE your work! I live in Madrid, Spain, and the most economic rental flats are mostly studios with a strange architecture, soooo difficult to manage the space! I tried to decorate my place with your instructions but it’s very hard. You totally have a gift! Keep on going!
I have a studio apartment as well and I divided my space with Ikea Pax closets. I have one 150cm closet going in the middle of the room, straight into the room and then another 150cm closet from the other closet in an L shape going to the other direction into the room as well. That way I created a "bedroom" behind the closets where I have my bed and Ikea Eket as storage (3 cubes next to each other, two rows on top of each other and with legs. Under the bed I have loads of room for storage and the Eket shelves give me loads of extra storage and work as a side table at the same time. :) And instead of a full sized desk, I have the Malm vanity desk (or whatever it is called...the one that is 42cm in depth and 120cm wide). It has a huge drawer where you can put your "office clutter" in, so that it's not on the desk, and on the desk I have my laptop and printer, a lamp and some decor items. And I have a poof as the chair which goes underneath it so when I'm not at the desk, it's not taking any space as it goes right under neath it. I also have the Malm with 2 drawers under the Malm vanity desk for extra storage. So I can really recommend it! Also for small spaces, especially small bathrooms I recommend the Vasagle bathroom cabinets. They are SO affordable (50-70 Euros) but look like they'd be expensive...they are SO WELL DONE and so beautiful! And fit in small spaces as they are only 30 cm in depth and 50-60cm wide depending on which one you get. You can get them on Amazon. And you can use them in any space, not just the bathroom because they look really nice. I have one in my entry way and one in my "living space". I also have the Hemnes daybed as my couch. Even though it's rather big (211cm wide) it's still okay in the small space because through the three huge drawers in it you get TONS of extra storage space. And since the frame is white, it doesn't look that bulky and the great thing is that you can always change the colors by just adding a different blanket on top of the mattresses and different cushion covers. Instead of needing to change the whole couch, you can easily change colors as often as you like to fit the rest of the decor. :) And I have the Ikea Kvistbro table as my couch table...small enough for small space and since it is open through the wires, it looks airy and not bulky in a small space. :) Really recommend! Try the Ikea Eket and Besta and Pax solutions...you can design your own to fit your own space and needs! And try to thin outside of the box! If you put things across the space INTO the room (like the Pax closets) you can easily divide your room and get more storage space. But make sure you only use the 201cm closets if you use them as free standing items, not the 238cm ones, since those could fall over. You also get tons of storage space on top of the Pax closets since they won't go all the way up to the ceiling. So you can put your suitcases or winter clothes or whatever up there.
Love that it's masculine enough for the bf too but still soft enough to be feminine for Alana. Great job AG!!!!! Love the dark and leather pillows on the bed! The curtains add so much soft and coziness while leaving it light and bright and that sofa is to die for!!!! Great color and looks so comfy!!! Love to have u makeover a space for me in AZ or possibly a future CA space.
OMG Alana deserved it! She is hard working and her cat ❤ the couch. Team AG nailed it again 💕 Alana was always pretty, she deserved to be a model 😁 she's so tall
Where did their clothes go? They were hung up on a portable rod prior. I loved the room, but would have liked to see how you incorporate the tv and wardrobe.
It bugs me too. Most people have to store clothes between seasons, it's kind of early to pack summer stuff away. IDK why she didn't find a frame for around the TV. Maybe they hadn't decided where to permanently mount it yet?
So last time I was watching Alexandra’s video the comments (including mine) were about how it wasn’t budget friendly etc, and it needs to be said: This 👏 gal 👏 listened 👏 This one is so much more attainable than the past few were EVERYTHING has been gifted by article. Great job on the makeover and great job listening to your audience 👏
Beautiful transformation. I have been decorating on a budget my whole life for myself and others. Was one of my pipe dreams since I was a little girl. Unfortunately life happened and went in a different direction. I do favours for friends and family once in a while when they want to redecorate but don’t have a large budget. I envy your youth and opportunity to use your talent to create such joy and beauty.💞
I have done the same thing for family members the budget wasn't really an issue but still I didn't make any money on it that's one of the things I always wanted to do but crafting things and doing things for family sometimes you just don't make any money on it and if you're just trying to get started you know a little cash would be nice especially when you do a lot of the shopping or my sister I went with her shopping everywhere with my sister-in-law went shopping with her everywhere they loved my living room so it was the inspiration back in the early 90s so I am quite a bit older but I do love your energy I agree with decorating around the TV I know that's a hard thing because they're just not pretty are generally not pretty if you could Mount them on the wall and be big enough then they're awesome anyway that said I think you do a really good job but I have to agree with one comment on another video I just started binge watching you today but she said then you tend to do a lot of it with almost your style all the time even the japany one I think you should have put the clock over the bed and the painting above that dresser or whatever you want to call it but even that it should have been a little taller my personal opinion and then what happened to The clothing rack and this one she's just going to put it back or I mean they make those things from Walmart that's and Target that you can go and get that actually you can close up even with a zipper those plastic and they're pretty well made people never mention Walmart or Target but they have lots of affordable decorating items an organization things that's not their specialty but they do have nice things I have bought a lot from Target so I've done for other people I redid my son and his wife's yeah they've had a small porch on the back and he built a big wood not patio what am I trying to say anyway and so I found this beautiful white patio set and I was going to get two loveseats and a chair or something to that effect I ended up getting four chairs and putting two on each side cuz they played a lot of games out here I was on my way to work one day that's in my son's truck and I saw this coffee table out on the curb and I thought that can be redone now back to Target on the plane it had mint green pillows not not quite mint more a limey green the inside of a line okay and then for the coffee table I made it it was a big square and heavy duty oh my gosh pulled off the part of the top that was had been probably sitting out in the rain and ruined painted the legs black and I cannot believe it in my little stack of things in my closet I have some green ostrich leather that was the same color as these cushions on the target then I got them a fire pit that's that was metal that was the same size as the square coffee table and they could change it out so when it was cold they can put the coffee table out away and then they could have their fire pit like sit around and then I was at Walmart one day during this period of time and there is this big metal stack of throw pillows and they should have been put out on the floor like months ago and they had not been so they marked them all down I got four of them for $2.50 each okay usually about 15 or $20 well each one of those throw pillows were the same color green with a white flower and some pink on it and some black so it added that little bit of extra pink that black and green and white were the main colors and it was almost little throw pillows just like it was meant to be and then I put a ceiling fan up for them with a light all of their friends who are y'all's age at the time went crazy over it they loved it nobody ever wanted to go anyplace else they didn't want to go to anybody else's house they wanted to come over there and hang out outside believe it or not cuz even in the pretty warm weather you know the ceiling fan is awesome cuz it had a porch about 4 ft wide that was concrete with the roof and then he added that decking after that that was oh gosh probably 16x16 so and we did a lot of flowers over there so it was really pretty awesome and I've never been trained I watched these decorating shows all you people are so good so I get ideas from you well I should say I used to I mean I still do I just don't have to do any of it anymore I am kind of wanting to do my bedroom either pink or turquoise anyway I haven't decided yet so but it looks really good like it is but I just tend to go to the same colors all the time that sort of the burgundies and a reds I call them reds but they're not crayon red they're deep red wine colored red and some areas but anyway my point is is people just watch some of these shows they can just pick up a few things get you an inspiration picture go by that nothing has to be exactly the same but a lot of it has to do with placement anyway I've talked too long I think you do a really good job I would just like to see some maybe Boulder colors you did that one Murphy bed where you had that red color behind it and I did really like that Murphy bed that turned into a couch yeah that was awesome anyway thank you for reading my comment and good luck to continue doing what you're doing you got a real talent
Isn’t it funny how, when we do something for a living, the last thing we want to do is apply that to our own lives sometimes? Good for her! Looks great.
Awesome job. There is only one detraction. When designers do make overs that have tvs in a they tried to get rid of the TV's. Their tvs in the Room for a purpose
Alexandra you hit the jack pot again... Wooooow. Everything turned out so cohesive. That touch of green colour in the sofa, and the maxi dresser as a TV unit with those sleek legs... Wow. Sara Nena DIY
I'm surprised to see so many critiques in the comments, I thought you knocked this one out of the park! You mentioned in the video that that the clothing rack was going away and the tv would be back once they had a stand. And I think the idea of having a cat tree or scratching post is more up to the cat's owners. Also, as someone who lives in a tiny apartment, you're exactly right that surface space is hard to find! That shelf is the perfect solution. I thought you maximized their space really well and it all looks beautiful and cohesive! I can only dream of my studio looking this nice!
I kinda was hoping she would do some unexpected artsy knobs on the dresser as a fun element especially since the color is muted. Statement knobs woukd stand out so good!
Beautiful! Very inspiring!! I love the green sofa but I wasn't sure how it would work, until I saw the reveal. The natural wood/ leather/ terracotta tones really pulled everything together. We are getting ready to furnish two prospective tenants apts. and design a studio for my son. We picked up so many tips, and design ideas. Thank-you! We are looking forward to your next videos, ( subscribers for years)!!
The pompoms on the throw pillows... that's Alexandra's signature. I love how you transformed that small space! Awesome job! I enjoyed watching the video. Looking forward for more!
Oh I really like this makeover, it is totally awesome, and it is amazing how a coat of paint can change so many things. I love the color of the sofa, and that unit that is where the TV use to be is so awesome, love the gold legs it gives it such a cool vibe. You have so many great ideas that I will be trying to add to my own space, it is about 800 square feet in total, I want to give my living room a brighter vibe and I think that paint will do the trick. Thanks again Alexandra, you are amazing, take care and I will see you soon, sending love and hugs, bye for now.
Where are their clothes? They just disappeared, now the mirror is standing against the wall. Are they stored in the dresser now? What about hanging clothes? The studio looks really nice though. Love the little dining area.
@@autumnarcher Yeah but they still have clothes... I mean... I don't think that they walk around all nakey... The question is, where the clothes did go, that they kept?
I love how quick paced this video is, no long unnecessary talks! I love your style and ideas, thanks for amazing content. You have a new subscriber 😊❤️
So the TV will be something ,as you state ,that she will rearrange with pictures later. She has been such a hardworking and valuable force in your programs that it is wonderful to see that Alana and her boyfriend are presented with a good surprise. Be healthy, all. force
Alexandra, the room is super nice!!! Great job as usual. it would great if your friend had a TV like yours. Your TV looks like a painting with the beautiful wood frame.
Thank you for this video! I'm moving into a 590 sq. foot apartment and looking online at that size and smaller for ideas for design-planning. It's giving me a lot of inspiration and hope to see units that are smaller than 590 being taken a made into cozy spaces for living so I can see all the possibilities. None of what you did to Alana's apartment is my style AT ALLLL but I love the core ideas you implemented. The rug, the leg-adding, the DIYing the drawer knobs to match the leg color, the drop leaf table, and making your own headboard! impressive!
❤❤ Carla's pants and that green Article sofa ❤❤ Gorgeous gorgeous makeover. Love the space so much. The folding table was a great idea as well. That said, as a designer, I believe one must keep in mind how they actually use the space. So, cater for the tv, in your design and put it up, don't hide it away for a reveal. I'm guessing the cat litter box found a different space.
Shalini Sen , I totally agree. Studio living is challenging and seeing things like TVs and and other necessities incorporated into a small space is what professionals can help with! Beautiful result with that bed - I’m sure we’re going to see a lot of copy cats! :)
If you’re properly installing caning yes, wetting can also make it mouldable over curves/intricate shapes. As this was something flat that isn’t going to have much traffic I think just stapling will be okay (but not a “proper” installation)
Yes, please. Let’s talk about Carla’s pants. She wore her smarty pants! Carla’s one-liners made me lol in a world gone sad and gloomy. Also, Kelso. What a cutie. What’s his sibling’s name? Fez? Forman? I have too many questions. Were you channeling the punny Danie Berger when you said the drawer pulls looked “pulled” together? And once again, Alexandra, a fab episode. Studio Fix is my favorite. I plan to add legs to my tv stand to, ahem, elevate it. Wishing you and Alana continued success! From a fan since The Home Primp days. 💕🧡💛💚🌀
The dinning nook is something many skip on in a studio, which creates many issues. This was perfect!! I love your ideas. Article really came through and changed the entire vibe. It went from depressing to chic. Prints added life!!!
You did an amazing job Alexandra the apartment looks beautiful, light and new again...I just want to say how gorgeous was that cat curled up on that new couch...thankyou for sharing 💜
I love watching these for ideas for my own studio apartment I’ll be moving into soon. The boho vibe isn’t really me but it’s super easy to see how I could make a vintage/Victorian inspired home with the same tips and tricks for organizing and maximizing the space.
This space is beautiful! This is one of several episodes I binge-watched. I fell under a rock, so I’m getting up to speed with everything that I’ve missed. I can’t wait to see more of “studio fix”.
I love this . love how you an make something out of nothing.Love your modern style and I am a baby boomer and love the mid century look of the couch and a great color. It is so funny that I am drawn to the style of furniture I grew up with. Thanks for sharing.God bless and hello from Texas.
Enjoyed this. Boho vibes in the furnishings, decor, color schemes. Only one thing, though: the DIY terracotta bowl lamp--hopefully not a fire hazard with those little lights and rope. All in all, this was a very nice vid!
I don't have any regret about how great Studio Fix since first season. That's the reason why I followed your channel, Alexandra. Studio Fix was my very first attention, very inspiring 😁
I don't usually follow these kind of channels but I am addicted to your channel. Your makeovers and decor tips and ideas are way cute and have really inspired me. This is a fantastic channel and I can't wait to see more videos and I look forward to future videos as well. Great job!
I need that couch. I have alot of that green in my house already though. I just love how the couch and the green in the plants are a feature in this room. Lovely. Every time I watch one of your episodes I go to Article but can never decide on a couch because I'm too lazy to measure where it needs to go. One of these days I will pull out the measuring tape and finally order a new couch. They do ship to US - right?
Love the bed DIY. So easy! Love the colours and overall look. Definitely cosy and warm! But I wish Alexandra would use a non-article gifted sofa for once for variety. Alana is going to have to redo the whole gallery wall in order to put the TV back in isn't she? unless she was ok to chuck her TV out?.... It's unrealistic.
This is beautiful. Clean. And the pop of green in the sofa. Is elegant and makes a statement. I may have considered flip/flopping the sofa and the dresser, if it isnt a chucky piece In width. Draped a curtain as a back drop and they could have a place for their tv. Grant you if outlets permitted. Its fresh and inviting. Amazing job.
Hey! That is actually the size of an apartment I used to live in. The 250sq ft did not include kitchen or bathroom though. What I did was place a 180x 200 cm bed in a corner and then close off one side using the ikea kallax 5x5 closet. This creates separate spaces and adds extra storage, but also let's through some light. On the other side I had a small couch, dinner table with 4 chairs, a tv console (in which I stored clothes) and a big lounge chair. Hope this might help you a little...
I totally love carla’s pants 🥰 Their studio appartment is nearly double the size of mine... I only have 28 square meters... and 8 go to my bath and my entryway. Another 4 to my kitchen and now we‘re left with almost nothing 😅
Alexandra isn't going to buy Alana a TV with the budget Alana gave her... tech is a personal thing that people need to pick themselves! it'd be like picking out somebody else's new computer or phone. just doesn't feel appropriate in an interior design video. I've also watched almost every video Alexandra has put out, and I've yet to see her buy somebody else new tech. :)
@@im_on_my_phone I don’t think she mentioned buying them a new tv, just switching the positions of the couch and tv stand. I agree...the couch would make more sense against the wall, and a tv stand or credenza where the couch is now to divide the space.
Michele Paccione it would be an eye sore because you would see the back of the tv. I did this would my apartment once and it felt weird seeing the back of my tv
Love your makeovers, just curious why you remove their television… I see a lot of interior decorators do that, and the client always puts it back. Wouldn’t it make more sense to just incorporate it into the design?
I hope you added the cat scratching post into the room :)
So you gave up the dresser and added a console and TV instead? what happened with the dresser then? The makeover was very pretty but now I just feel it's confusing and the results are not actually what was presented
Rebecca Y the dresser that Alexandra put in is the “console table” I’m referring to. The tv is sitting on it now. I think you’re overthinking it.
@@alanaandrade2607 I see, thanks for the clarifications
I think it’s because when people hear TV stand they think a piece of furniture, not a stand/legs for a TV.
Everyone is talking about the clothes rack and TV.
I would have liked to see a new cat tree. The whole reason the cat was scratching the old couch and the new one is because they don't have a scratching post or cat tree anywhere in the apartment!
That sofa is going to be destroyed
Yep! No doubt that couch will be a goner. (Although my two pretty much leave my couch alone.) I do have cat trees thought.
Yeah, they got rid of the cat tower!
Exactly. Cats are people too! They deserve nice furniture... Kitty furniture! A rope wrapped pole, and some kitty shelves up higher?!
@@cathycoryell2351 Yes!! I would love to see some practical solutions in these makeovers --like where do you put the litter box?
Very impressive makeover nonetheless, great job as always :)
i agree, this makeover was nice but it wasnt practical or helpful to me. this was a styling video more than a studio hack video
Also...what happened to the kitchen and the bathroom? Only half this studio was addressed.
And she never put the TV back, I guess aesthetics trump entertainment
Christine Valdes sometimes people don’t want to share their entire apartment which I understand but at least give us some practicality in the space you do show- there was no explanation of where the clothes went and no organization at all. It was purely aesthetics
Mia Hecht exactly! She said she was going to let them get a tv stand or a new tv but so then basically she just got them a new bed, couch and tv stand? Seemed a little like she was just getting them a sponsored couch/furniture 🤷🏻♀️
i am a fan but it would be nice to see more styles then the trendy boho thing... like modern, retro, colorful really anything else.
I agree. It’s such a beautiful aesthetic but so played out
it feels like is the only style she can do. I would love to see her make other styles (costal, mid-century...)
I feel like a lot of these more affordable used pieces aren’t stark white either, and I’d love to not see her slap white paint on anything 😅
this is more geared towards everyone though, white spaces are so insanely overused by almost every makeover youtube channel out there
I agree i love AG but i feel like every video has the same colours/aesthetic
I have enjoyed DIY Dannie and lone fox lately they are all friends lol but Dannie did this crazy vintage baby room and lone fox did his roommates room with a stucco paint and his dining room in a darker blue it's pretty cool
I love how light and airy it is, but I would love to see a nice stretch into dark, moody academia type of aesthetic in a studio.

It would be so cool to see a makeover using zero knickknacks and decorating it using only every day items.
I 100% agree! Structube has many affordable couches (starting at $200, which, for a couch is insane!) :)
@@yari139 It's not even a sofa. It's a $1399 loveseat. lol
I was gonna say the same thing!! It's beautiful but very girly. I love these small space make overs.
And don’t forget the poms poms! My husband would definitely balk at all the feminine touches and pink is not my color anyway.
Yesss
Yes, I agree with so many of you. The tv is gone, the cat has no food dish or litter box and the clothes have nowhere to go.
she said they could put the TV back on top of that wide dresser in the living room. I'd assume that the cat's bowls are in the kitchen, which we didn't see, and the bathroom has the litter box, right? It looked to me like there was a clothes closet at the foot of the bed.
Oh my goodness! Kelso settling on the new sofa like it's always been his favourite spot. Adorable!
Wish you had scattered the beautiful emerald green color throughout the apartment.
She did with plants kinda
Alana can still add emerald green things herself
That green pillow on the couch? Sure doesn't go with the couch.
I do too, instead of all of that neutral coloring.
@@kjones7974 Yes😊
I want to see where their TV ended up!
and the clothes!
And that gorgeous bedspread!
Me too. It drives me nuts when designers get rid of the tv
@@thefoodwench4848 yeah, he had games and everything. Where did that all go?
yeah where's the tv 😂
I loved the job- Especially the sofa, the cushions, and the rug. Can we see you work your magic on the kitchen and bathroom next please?
I love the green couch as well. It is really nice.
Rub and Buff.
Every single makeover on youtube: This article sofa
Ikr? Then I watch a 6 month update youtuber decor channel and then she actually admitted her article sofa wasn't comfortable at all and it was a regret to purchase it.
They're getting paid, I saw a UA-camr say she wouldn't buy the couch again.
AND the brown leather couch that you know which one I am talking about.
Exactly. How many people get a $2000 sofa donated.
And it is not “donated,” it is a PR gift! Lol
They were to install it with a tv mount when they get one. She said it when she was arranging the art.
12:29
@@MamaKits Thanks for pointing that out, but thats part of my question :) Why did she not make the tv part of her design or include the stand, this is a very common item to have in a home so I 'd like to see how she deals with it in design. It is also very clear at the end of the video when the gallery wall is shown that if a tv were to go on that dresser it would block part of the gallery, again deterring from design and not functioning within it.
I thought this too. Oh let me leave them a big project and have to redo this whole gallery wall that I've already drilled holes in. SMH
Exactly! And even tho it came out lookin soo cute theyre just gonna take all those paintings off and put the tv right were it was. 🤦🏻♀️
I really like what you did. It turned out really cute. However, I think you should have worked their tv in there somewhere because if they went to the trouble to mount it on the wall then it's something they use a lot. Just my thoughts.
LOVE the idea of adding legs to the dresser! I’ve been trying to find affordable ways to dress up my room and that is perfect 👌🏻
LMAO the cat getting up on the couch and going to sleep as soon as you put it down...you chose well... and LOVE Carla's pants, so vintage and great.
Love the gallery wall and the new console. That space alone looks so much different from before. Thank you Carla’s jeans for all the hardwork!🤣
😂
Cat scratching post by sofa is needed!
I could watch small space makeovers all day, every day.
Huge win with this one! The space looks so much brighter, bigger and cleaner! A fresh coat of paint can change the world. I loved this headboard hack, so easy and on trend. Also the rug and those gold legs on the dresser.
That headboard was inspiring. I didn't even know you could buy a roll of caning.
In the new dresser, probably. I think they should stay without the TV. Maybe buy a projector? :)
Don't need a tv but definitely need somewhere to hang some of your clothes at least .... I'm sure she may have some dresses????

So last time I was watching Alexandra’s video the comments (including mine) were about how it wasn’t budget friendly etc, and it needs to be said: This 👏 gal 👏 listened 👏
This one is so much more attainable than the past few were EVERYTHING has been gifted by article. Great job on the makeover and great job listening to your audience 👏
The 1300 dollar sofa was supplied by the sponsor. The fairy light thing was impractical and juvenile
love what you did by adding the leather handles to the black fabric boxes on the rattan shelf! really changes the vibe on that block of space.
This was so cute! That’s such a typical studio so it was nice to see that even it can get pretty!
Love this makeover! Is it just me, but Alexandra seems happier and more confident lately? ☺
This turned out so great! I love the color palette, so light and airy. Great job team AG! Enjoy the new place Alana!
Thanks Diana!

Hey followers ! Come on ! This girl has beautiful deco tricks. 55 k not enough! She has to reach 1 million
Yess! She deserves more subscribers!!
It's interesting to watch past videos to see the growth of the channel. Love that you still offer virtual fix packages.
Awesome job. There is only one detraction. When designers do make overs that have tvs in a they tried to get rid of the TV's. Their tvs in the Room for a purpose
For caning if you get it wet first then attach to your furniture and let it dry it becomes taught and stronger. Just a tip for future projects :)

I’d stain that headboard to match the shelf on the wall and stand out from the caning a little.
I thought the same.
It also would’ve been nice to see her try and replicate the headboard in the picture. The headboard she diy’d isn’t the really nice looking.
Totally saw a baby bump!
The headboard is boring. I'd put cotton material around it and cover it with a fabric.
Yes, the headboard was a bit too bland.
Loved this makeover and you, I am just not loving the leather drawer pulls anymore lol
I kinda was hoping she would do some unexpected artsy knobs on the dresser as a fun element especially since the color is muted. Statement knobs woukd stand out so good!

Oh I really like this makeover, it is totally awesome, and it is amazing how a coat of paint can change so many things. I love the color of the sofa, and that unit that is where the TV use to be is so awesome, love the gold legs it gives it such a cool vibe. Agree, it was so much lighter and totally transformed in a subtle way.
Where are their clothes? They just disappeared, now the mirror is standing against the wall. Are they stored in the dresser now? What about hanging clothes?
The studio looks really nice though. Love the little dining area.

The rug, the leg-adding, the DIYing the drawer knobs to match the leg color, the drop leaf table, and making your own headboard! impressive!

Gorgeous gorgeous makeover.
And where did the clothes go as well? They were on an open rack. Is there a closet?

Fresh, stylish, fancy, clean, and cozy. Such a great vibe.
Aren't you supposed to get the canning wet before you staple it to let it get taught?
If you’re properly installing caning yes, wetting can also make it mouldable over curves/intricate shapes.
As this was something flat that isn’t going to have much traffic I think just stapling will be okay (but not a “proper” installation)
FINALLY! A WELL DESIGNED STUDIO APARTMENT! Moving into a small studio apartment the same size and have been searching high and low for ideas!!
Yes, please. Let’s talk about Carla’s pants. She wore her smarty pants! Carla’s one-liners made me lol in a world gone sad and gloomy. Also, Kelso. What a cutie. What’s his sibling’s name? Fez? Studio Fix is my favorite. I plan to add legs to my tv stand to, ahem, elevate it. Wishing you and Alana continued success! From a fan since The Home Primp days. 💕🧡💛💚🌀

I need that couch. I have alot of that green in my house already though. I just love how the couch and the green in the plants are a feature in this room. Lovely. Every time I watch one of your episodes I go to Article but can never decide on a couch because I'm too lazy to measure where it needs to go. Fantastic makeover! That hack with the Ikea headboard is great. Love the rug and the general colour scheme. Beautiful.
One day I hope to see one the size of my apartment. 250 sq ft 😅
😱
She did one around that size - it's the one where she put a bookshelf up high all around the room.
That is the size of mine as well (minus the bathroom)
i think this often lately but this must be my favourite makeover you've ever done!!!
That couch is gorgeous
I totally love carla’s pants 🥰 Their studio appartment is nearly double the size of mine... I only have 28 square meters... and 8 go to my bath and my entryway. Another 4 to my kitchen and now we‘re left with almost nothing 😅

That emerald green sofa provided a bold shot of color. In addition, she was styling toward the colors her client likes.
I AM SOO IMPRESSED WITH YOUR ABILITY TO TRANSFORM THE SPACE ❤️❤️❤️
I loved the style of this space! I would have (personally) opted to switch the tv and the couch!
