Kasey: What about if I try to draw people? Me: That's Mr. Mime... Is Mr. Mine people? Kasey: *adds bangs and skirt* Me: Ah... Mrs. Mime. In other news, these are all adorable drawings. 10/10 would recommend these drawings.
My sad theory about the balloon picture: after Mr. Fredrickson passed away, Russel would occasionally send a lone balloon into the sky with a message on it for him. Today’s balloon color was red 🥺
It reminds me of the old English nursery rhyme! 'Ladybird, ladybird fly away home Your house is on fire and your children are gone All except one, and her name is Ann And she hid under the warming pan' - gives it a bit of a dark twist though seeing the ladybird holding the flame!
Theres a similar german lullaby with lyrics talking about the ladybirds children crying and screaming cause a spider was coming (the house was on fire in that one too)
That is a book right? If you dont know it it is an old childrens book I used to have, it was kinda weird...But I enjoyed it nonetheless. If I had to guess it was called "balloon heaven"?
3:40 For some reason I thought she was going to say "I am...disgusted" and also this are (from my own point of view)majestic and graceful drawings!I really love them, you are very talented and an amazing artist,I send you lots of love from Colombia
This video was really cool kasey! My favourite picture that you drew in this video today was the first one you drew, I liked the calm look of the sky and the plants in it. But honestly all of them were amazing! I hope your having a great time in Japan too. 👍
In the first illustration the technique of making the gradient sky somehow makes it looks like there are clouds which are a little bit more realistic. They kinda stretch a little longer and aren't plain white. I really like this effect
Hey Kasey! This video was beautiful and I hope you're enjoying your stay in Japan. I just wanted to let you know that you have inspired me to start working on my children's book again. I've wanted to write and illustrate a story for a long time now but I'm always in my head about it; I can't map out the plot, my art skills aren't good enough, I don't even know how to make a book. But watching your work inspired me to get back into it. I am now consistently writing and I've also started practising the art style that I want to do my illustrations in. I think that seeing you do what you do made me realize that it's ultimately possible. Thanks for being awesome
I really like all of this and I also think it’s very impressive how you simplified your style even more! Especially this art style seems so good for a children’s book ! it is so simple that it still leaves enough room for the imagination for kids and every other age group!! I love this
the dragon and the balloon had to be my favorite, i know you weren't as fond of them but the idea of leaving out detail and allowing more imagination was a great aspect.
Kasey, there is something called " DécoTune twin markers", i use those markers all the time but the results are different that depends on the paper you use. You can find them on Amazon if you want. I hope you will like this idea! :D (Btw when youre using it, put a harder piece of paper underneath or it will leak thru!)
Hey, a new and fun video! I never knew you went to Japan, either. Maybe when I grow up, I might as well move there to look at the stuff they have that I can experiment with. Cool vid!
I was watching this with my friend and she started freaking out when you were doing the final painting and I didn’t know why and apparently she has triphobia so that’s cool 😂
The last one represents curiosity in an unknown environment populated by strangers, the desire to explore and break out of your usual place and visit new lands even though you may not be welcomed you make no effort to blend in
don't apologize for using the markers how you want to. it's your video girl! I can see how you'd want to say something in a challenge or smth like that, but ur reviewing them and u should do it how u see fit. love u 🖤
We may be going on a family trip to Japan in the next year or so. I'd love some videos on like the best stores, how much you spent on art supplies, the general location of where your shopping at, etc.
Without fail, I'm constantly amazed and inspired by the art you create no matter the tool. I am in love with your first drawing with the lady bug!! It's so cute!!
I love the way you do the background it's so cool also the dot markers do look like something for a doodle but you did good making it and illustration!
Those dot markers look like so much fun! By the way, I don't know if that's something you want to do, but I'd also love little videos of fun things and places you come across while in Japan. It's always so interesting to see a country through someone else's eyes.
the last one could be the balloon representing childhood, and the dots being a storm that represents adulthood, and growing up into the reality of the world.
The blue dots and the baloon: the blue dots looked like perfect ly round balloons, and this one red baloon stands alone, but the blue balloons are trying to get rid of it, because it's different😅 My theory at least🙈 Love you so much Kasey🥰 You're a big inspiration to me, and your videos make me want to do creative things, even on the really bad days💖 Big Love From a 17 years old girl from Norway 🇳🇴 💖
Love all of these doodles 💙💙💙 but for the balloon one, to me it represents growing up. The bright balloon is going up into a dark ominous storm where nothing can be seen, like a child being thrown into a dark and sad world. Sorry for the sadness! To end on a positive note, thats the cutest dragon I've ever seen :)
I have Zig Real Color Brush Markers. They were really popular among card makers for a while. I use mine mostly as watercolor to color small images on my cards.
Kasey: “Ballon getting sucked into dots” Me: “ooooh that’s deep” it means to stand out of the crowd, because it is the only red ballon among a blue ballon crowd
Ladybird, Ladybird fly away home, your house is on fire and your children all flown. Childhood rhyme was all I could think of during the first illustration.
Pointillism markers! (Art using only dots in case someone comes along and doesn’t know what pointillism is) It’s unique because you can use almost anything! Including push pins (yes the things that you push into a wall with out a hammer to hold up a piece of paper or something light like that.) But those flames, plants, fish, and angler fish light looks really awesome!
I know you know this, but I thought you should hear it from someone else. 4:14 "Is this cheating?" No, you can't cheat in art. Its whatever you want to make it. I hope you're doing this for yourself as much as you are for us! And personally, I dont care what you do because I love everything!! Your content has a huge variety and I never find myself becoming bored. While I do miss the daily prompts (please do some occasionally perhaps?) I'm fine with what you're doing now. Sorry. That was a long-winded way of saying do what makes you happy! THE ONE WITH THE DRAGON WAS STUNNING BY THE WAY!! I love it 💖
The ladybird with the flame reminded me of an old advert that used to come on TV in the UK. It was to tell kids not to play with matches and was about a firefly who flew with a match and burned down her village
okay wow this was really fun to watch. kasey, your videos are always so unique and they're inspiring me to create something new as well, so thank you! keep up the good work 💕
My favorite is the dragon picture! I love the gradient sky and the contrast between it and the grass. The little dot creatures are really cool; I wonder if they are baby dot dragons?
You should try a technique called "stippling" with these markers. It is literally making an image out of thousands of dots. It sounds like a printer and super tedious, but the way we did it in my art classes was by taping a bunch of brushes together, and using the ends of the brushes to dip into acrylic paint, and then tapping the ends to the paper. We paintes from landscape photographs, and they turned out like how many oil paintings look super textured up close, but just like the picture from a step back. These markers are perfect for stippling. :) Awesome work of these illustrations though! My favorite is the dragon.
These markers could possibly help with my art block. When I’m drawing I just despise how my hand makes things and can’t ever get things right. Simple drawings inspire me especially when I make them in my journal
I just had to say this : the French version is super happy , it goes like this: ladybug ,ladybug fly fly away take your hat and go to school.( in French it rhymes).
14:11(red balloon theory) it could represent the loss of innocence after childhood witch spirals into impurity and or darkness/loss/sadness. The red ballon witch would represent innocence/childhood, the dark sky representing the real harsh pain of growing up and loseing your innocence.
Kasey: "what happens if we try to draw people?"
*Straight up sketch Mr Mime*
It doesn't look like Mime at all
this is exactly what i thought!
Sunflower• Aesthetic they mean Mr mime the pokemon
Bruh that’s what I thought too
João Pedro Delorenci i thought that as well
Until you said "cute bun hairstyle" I 100% thought that was a ladybug in a Mickey Mouse hat
ikr same!

Haha I thought it was Miraculous Ladybug
I thought her buns were eyes
I thought it was Mr. Mime

Balloon image reminds me of growing up. Your childhood innocence getting swept away into adult conformity.
I absolutely love your analogy 🥰

Thats what I said!!! 😂 great minds think alike
I had the same response.

3:26 okay let's draw a girl, give her some cute bangs and OMG ITS MR.MIME
I'm so glad I'm not the only one who thought that

Love the first painting the most!❤

Summer yellow: am I a joke to you

The dragon is amazing!!! And that comes from a dragon master!
14:18 maybe the dots are lost souls of all the balloons that went in the sky and those are the last moments of the red balloon ? Oh gosh , I'm so dark
