The 12 pack has a color match for each of the goal sections in MakseLife planner, as well. It took me some time to figure out the right pressure to get a uniform dot but now I love them. I couple them with a black felt tip pen to make leopard/cheetah spots to decorate my planner.
I jumped on the bandwagon and bought some last year and while I don’t use them all that much myself, they’re REALLY handy for my son when he’s counting. It’s so much easier for him to quickly jab a dot on a piece of paper instead of drawing little circles! 🙌🏻
As a lettering artist i am SUPER surprised you didn't show how you can mimic brush lettering with them! I am really awkward with brush pens and have been trying for years to get better.... and then I found these, and my brush lettering looks AMAZING!!! (respectively, i'm still a novice LOL). I would LOVE to see you test these as lettering tools!!
If you want to get individual ones instead of whole packs Sunshine Sticker Co has 18 different colors and 6 metallics. You can order individually or all of them. I have gotten some in a bullet bundles from her shop. It has taken me time to get used to not being too heavy with them, but I love them for my power sheets and marking habit trackers/year in pixels.
I LOVE these!!!!! I actually bought them before I even finished the video. I rarely do that these days. But I knew they'd work for me. They make lists sooooo easy!!!!! And they match my mildliners really well. So far they're my best purchase of 2021.
These have been in my cart for months. Finally took the plunge and bought them as a birthday gift to myself. I can’t wait to test them in my planner tomorrow! Thanks for the review
I have all of these as well, and I love using them for my task lists. One thing to note about the metallic set is that a lot of pens don’t write overtop of them, so using the metallic dots for a task list has proven to be challenging for me because my pen ink kinda disappears into the metallic dot.
I got these in December to use in my monthly habit tracker. I had been using mildliners, but there’s something so satisfying about making dots. I’ve been using a checklist stencil to make squares for to do lists in my Plum Paper monthly planner and I watched Laken’s vlog recently where she had make checklists with these and I hadn’t even though to do that but it’s a brilliant idea.
ooo thanks for this video - I didn't necessarily need the review portion as I've seen them in use in other people's planner videos but the color comparison and discussion of the different packs was super duper helpful! But, your reviews in general are super informative and I appreciate how much thought you put into them all! Thanks Cindy!
I’ve been using these for a couple of years now. Love them. Lots of places carry them - including JetPens, some planner and stationery/art companies like Sunshine Sticker Co, DickBlick and Tokyo Pen Shop. They come in four packs and singles too. Interesting that your mild pack has pen clips. Mine do not. I never get issues with bleedthru on my my Stalogy or Tomoe River paper or even my Happy Planners. Or ink on them. I use these all the time. One of my most used planner tools.
@@CindyGuentertBaldo no I don’t. The fine tip has minimal smearing immediately after writing and none after 5 seconds - and the dot has minimal smearing at 15 sec and none after 20 seconds so hasn’t been an issue. I do use blotter paper in all my TRP notebooks and planners just in case I need to close them immediately after writing with any pen or marker so that helps if I make my dots and immediately close my notebook - but the 20sec wait time hasn’t been an issue for me or anything.
I bought the 12-pack last week. They are juicy, but I love using them in my self-designed checking s/savings register. I am able to color code the accounts to be charged with the dots and then add a check/or X when I reconcile my accounts. I’m using a Plum Paper notebook. I have to dot quickly or the ink bleeds thru. Also, it takes time for the ink to dry on this paper. Thank you for the demo and review!
Great review! Sunshine Sticker Co sells them individually and the 12-pack for those who want to shop small and/or looking for individual pens. I have the black and grey from their Bullet Bundle sub and I’m saving to get more colors.
Cindy!! You are right on time, girl! I was just looking at these the other day because of all of the hoop-lah surrounding them. I won’t be buying all of them, but you’ve swayed me. Thank you!! ❤️
I *LOVE* these! I use them in several different planners for making color-coded to-do lists. When I complete the task, I put a check mark in the dot. The only bad thing about them is that the caps and marker tops on the dot side need to be wiped off periodically. The Tombow ones that are similar are not as good, IMO, because their dot tip is flat and you have to be more precise applying it to get a completely circular dot.
I have them all & love them. To me it’s cheaper than using the dot stickers. I use them to color code & use them instead of the dot stickers. It is nice just grabbing a marker and not having to go through all my stickers to find the ones I want... I do have a heavy hand and I have to be careful... I am so glad I got them all before you tested them 😂 because I am sure they will sell out...
I fell down the rabbit hole and got some of these a few weeks ago because seeing them used in planners was very appealing. I was no spend on planner things for 2 months then when ape shit crazy over these 🤦🏻♀️
i'm generally doing okay with that sort of thing right now as I'm trying to reduce the amount of shit moving to CO, but like, I couldn't help myself with these lol
I bought the set of four to start with as I didn’t know if I’d use them much! I then got the metallic set and I can honestly say I’ve used them continually daily in my daily creative journal, I wish I could get them all now but I need to save up. I just love these quirky somewhat overpriced little guys, a lottery win just now would be awesome lol xxx💕
I got a small pack and use them in my teacher planner to record stuff. I have colour coded them so I love them - I just hate that the big pack are so expensive!!
I got a couple individually on jet pens to try out. They drove me crazy though because I couldn’t get all the dots the same size and some would be inkier in the middle.
As a southpaw, I thank you for the leftie shout out! I got three minutes into this video before I decided I cannot use them lol. I’d love to do more fun lettering and stuff but feel like the only way I can do it well is to learn how to write from right to left. 😂😭
I legit JUST got these (the 12 pack delivered not even an hour ago) after waiting a while to see if all the hype was worth it and after considering very long and hard if they would be worth it for me. I use a Makselife so I am excited about the color matching that these provide.
Also I am an avid adult coloring book artist. Zig Memory Pens don’t bleed through paper. Thanks for showing whether they bleed through with your collection of Zigs. BTW? Have you used their Blender? I have not.
I feel like you read my mind. I just put the 12 pack on my birthday wish list of ideas I'll buy myself. I am not really a metallic, foiled, or yellow gold girl but I'd jump on that if it had Rose Gold. I've worried about hand pain of small dot stickers (did purchase the reverse tweezers for stickers and that helps with other stickers) and the prices of them are a bit more than I want to direct my stationary money... I need to make my swatch book. I moved all of my back-up pens into a beautiful vintage suitcase and ran out of room. They do lie horizontal. But my pen "non probem" won't be like my "bring something in to replace something" rule for books. (One of my favorite authors from the 80-90s retired in mid 90s and broke my heart. I was just very pregnant and reading was my way of forcing myself to put my feet up (my mother-in-law's idea and she introduced me to historical romance.) I devoured almost all of the books except 1. I was in my young 20s and 1 was a mid life divorced plot that I couldnt grasp onto. Wish I knew the name now. Haha I was recently pondering the idea of re-reading her books. I have long ago parted with all mass market paperbacks from my library. My hands can't really hold that size anymore. I ran into a new-to-me Goodwill on my way home from the pharmacy, yesterday. Someone had donated her hard bound books! I'm more than thrilled. Now I have to learn to breathe and do other things and not just be a book junkie.) And I need to purge my cases of 8 or 9 books... My phone gave me a freeze warning the other night. It's warm here so I clicked on it, confused. Apparently my phone weather thinks I'm in Denver. They were getting plowed with snow. Made me think of you, of course. I could live in Minnesota's winters, so Denver maybe? But I'm much older now. I rarely go anywhere. I can't imagine finding new doctors during this crappy plague. The idea of finding new doctors like I have now will probably make me stay here til death. 🙏♡~Heidi
Have you tried ink sprays? Princess Honey featured one on her channel and I thought they were amazing and produced a beautiful effect. If so, is there a brand you recommend? Thank you for everything you do!!!
I would love them but they cost 5€ (about 4 dollars) a piece in my country and I have only seen four colours available. I don't know if I want to invest that much for them. I mean the pack of four we have is close to the price of an a5 hardcover Leuchtturm. I don't know if they are worth the price.
I purchased one of the packs but I never can get all my dots the same size, so I don't use them for that anymore. I use them to make a "sparkle" or "snow" effect on cards and envelopes now. I wish I could get them to work for me, but it just will not happen. lol
Have you tried them or seen anyone try them on tomoe river paper? I'm not bothered by shadowing, but I'm a little bit concerned they might be too wet for it.
My hearing I wasn’t able to pick up the planner videos you called out. Could you give me the name in a reply please? Also, now that I think of it, I better make sure my pack of 6 is lying flat

thanks for the heads up! i love that animal print idea
I jumped on the bandwagon and bought some last year and while I don’t use them all that much myself, they’re REALLY handy for my son when he’s counting. It’s so much easier for him to quickly jab a dot on a piece of paper instead of drawing little circles! 🙌🏻
awwwwwwwwwwww

Good to know. I’ve got more than enough markers so need to use up before buying more so added to list to consider. I like the easy dotting idea.
Glad it was helpful!
The most helpful review! Matching it to my power sheets is exactly what I want them for so thank you for doing that!
I will be using these for habit tracking, and especially for my yearly mood tracker.

oooooh i love the year in pixels idea!

What color pack did you get to match the midliners?
Oooh I wanted to see this. I love the dots from sticker books, but I love the idea of drawing them in. 👍😁
These have been in my cart for months. Finally took the plunge and bought them as a birthday gift to myself. I can’t wait to test them in my planner tomorrow! Thanks for the review

You’re a good reviewer.
I just realized how many reviews for different things I watch.
So I have qualified myself to say ✔️.
Thank you for this great video! I had so much fun matching up my new markers to my goal flags in my Power Sheets. This made it easy!
I bought the 12-pack last week. They are juicy, but I love using them in my self-designed checking s/savings register. I have the artists loft dupe and they work great for me

I got the bights pack for Christmas and I use them for my mood tracker and my habit tracker. They’re just something different. I like them.
Thanks for this review. I've been debating on these and now now I know for sure.
In an Australian shop, there's a 90pk, but in any pack size still 2x the price of Tombow duals
I have them all & love them. To me it’s cheaper than using the dot stickers. I use them to color code & use them instead of the dot stickers. Thanks Cindy! I have quite a few of these packs, and absolutely LOVE them for filling out habit trackers as well! Boop!..and done.
Most of them are available on jet pens individually. Thanks for great review!
Glad I watched this before buying them. I have little control over the pressure used when writing and would have probably had a mess.
These are def a fave of mine but I wish they weren’t so damn expensive!
I love the idea but given what I already have on hand maybe next year to go with the Powersheets.
I don’t need these, but I want them lol

I think jet pens has them as an open stock. Could be helpful if looking to replace a color you use more than the others.
I got a small pack and use them in my teacher planner to record stuff. I have colour coded them so I love them - I just hate that the big pack are so expensive!!
i've always hated color coding with stickers, but the ease of use of these might make me more inclined to try it. i hear you on the price!
I got a couple individually on jet pens to try out. They drove me crazy though because I couldn’t get all the dots the same size and some would be inkier in the middle.

but of course
Hey Beth, I’m left handed and have no trouble with these pens.
I have these and really enjoy them!

What are reverse tweezers? Is that a type of tweezer, or a brand?
Have you tried ink sprays? Princess Honey featured one on her channel and I thought they were amazing and produced a beautiful effect. If so, is there a brand you recommend? Thank you for everything you do!!!
I've been wondering about these
glad to help!
I would love them but they cost 5€ (about 4 dollars) a piece in my country and I have only seen four colours available. I don't know if I want to invest that much for them. I mean the pack of four we have is close to the price of an a5 hardcover Leuchtturm. I don't know if they are worth the price.

I had a set of 4 but wasn't too impressed with them. I ended up giving them away. I tend to stick with the Mildliners.
Please tell me I'm not the only one that thought "Bush..hahaha".
You're not the only one.
Have you tried them or seen anyone try them on tomoe river paper? I'm not bothered by shadowing, but I'm a little bit concerned they might be too wet for it.
I use them in my Hobonichi weeks and they are great 👍
Can you do a best metallic markers video??:-)
My hearing I wasn’t able to pick up the planner videos you called out. Could you give me the name in a reply please? Also, now that I think of it, I better make sure my pack of 6 is lying flat
Zig has 100 colors on Amazon $100 plus well worth it!!!!!!
High end, fun, bingo dobbers
Still not sure. I am thinking of getting these for a friend with arthritis. The regular
good luck deciding!
if you do I'd love to know what they think of them
I’m having serious FOMO 🤦🏽♀️🥴🤣😂
Gimmicky and I bought the 4 pack. 🤦🏾♀️
