Вставка
- Опубліковано 6 вер 2024
- These special formations don't happen overnight and with 60 years difference between the two aircraft, usually the Avro Lancaster is spectacular enough but to have it leading in front of Eurofighter Typhoon is something else!
Both aircraft are based at RAF Coningsby; the Avro Lancaster PA474 is part of the BBMF (Battle of Britain Memorial Flight) inventory and the Typhoon ZJ914 'Blackjack' is flown by 29 squadron's Typhoon display pilot Flt Lt Matt Brighty. Both aircraft are flying at around 120 knot, which is a comfortable speed for the Lancaster. Both aircraft finish with a break, leading to the Typhoon's display which we will have on another video...

I hope there was someone was in the back of the Lancaster taking a pic of the Typhoon
Wow absolutely stunning both of those gorgeous glorious aircraft
Oii Oii Tim 🤙🏼
Just beautiful. I love how it looks like he's being towed with a line! Lest we forget.
This was an utter treat, totally unexpected. Lancaster followed by Typhoon holding maximum angle of attack. Amazing
Oii Oii Anna what a treat it was indeed 🤙🏼
Watching these 2 fly made me cry. The Lancaster from the past and the Typhoon from our future what more could you ask for at a air display. Thank you Nikos, thankyou.
Incredible flying skills by both pilots.
Cranwell trained pilots are the best in the world.
I can only echo what has already been said.
A remarkable video in a spectacular setting! Congratulations guys.
👏🏻
Oii oiii Gazza thank you
This was marvellous. Old generation meets new generation. In a few years time, Another generation of fighter jet will be flying with the Typhoon. Example of how things progress.
Oii Oii Margo. This really is a brilliant example of that.
Stunning
Beautiful sight. I want to know how Brighty gets the plane to go that slowly without stalling!!
Oiii oiii Lesley 🤙🏼 so there are 4 computers on the Typhoon keeping it airborne. He is going about 120 mph and I believe the Typhoon can go as slow as 90mph on a max alpha
It was almost unreal to watch in the stream, superb flying by Brighty👏! Compared to the Lancaster, the Typhoon suddenly looked rather tiny😉.
This was one of my highlights of a fantastic weekend, along with meeting Ted, Nikos and Co. on the Sunday.
Oii oiii Dave 🤙🏼great to meet you too
Stunning footage of two absolute icons. Superb flying and beautifully filmed. Thank you ❤
Oiii oiii Carole thank you so much
The Typhoon pilot HAS SKILLS..being able to stay such low speed like that takes pure talent & skills..✌️✌️
What else can be said? Never gets old, never get tired of watching her. Lancaster rules. Over the Channel in Bournemouth very fitting. Typhoon wouldn't have been possible without her. A great tribute Ted and Nikos.! Pristine flying talents. Many have fallen but never forget. Sound of Spirit and the brave. Oiii oii and here, here.
Ooohhh yeah
That was amazing to watch! Fantastic coverage as always - huge thanks to the TCS for bringing all this awesome aviation footage to the masses!!
Ooohh yeah
*Past and Present. nice*
Wow can it get any better than.this stunning formations ..such skill from pilots .❤️🤍💙
Always exciting to watch
Why doesn't he pass him already!!!??? I hate tailgaters!!! Seriously Just Beautiful!
absolutely awesome 😍
Oiii oiii Steve 🤙🏼
Hi Ted what a great display must be hard work keeping Eurofighter steady like that.
Thank you. They are at speeds of 120mph. The Typhoon on max alpha is at 90mph so it is fine
Absolutely amazing airmanship by all involved, and great camera work by Nikos. Such an emotional sight seeing those 2 planes that show the huge development in aviation in a relatively small amount of time, and also to honour those incredibly brave young men who fought for our freedom. When the sun light illuminated the upper fuselage of each aircraft it was like a seal of approval from those brave airmen looking down and saying thank you for remembering us. As for me I'm so proud of the current RAF, and also take great pride in their history
Oii Oii Jon thank you so much. What a display
Just no words for how amazing this is Thank you Nikos❤❤❤❤❤
Oiii oiii Miccy thank you. You are most welcome
I've seen the Typhoon do the slow flight, it is amazing.
🩵
Stunning xxx
Wow how good is this !!!!!!!!!!👏👏
🩵❤️💜
Stunning! Thanks Nikos. Excellent work filming these 2 greats! 👏🏻
Oiii oiii Ellesee
Brilliant!! Amazing to think that there’s 4 engines keeping the Lanc in front & only 2 engines keeping Brighty just at flight speed. Fantastic piloting skills from both aircraft. Thanks for sharing
Oii oiii AvroAL thank you very much. Don’t forget that the Typhoon has 4 computers keeping the Typhoon airborne too
It always amazes me how much technology has changed throughout the years and the history of aviation. Always love seeing how the different styles of aircrafts have changed. Ty for the post Teddi.👍❤️✈️🛫
When you see how many yrs between the Lancaster n the Vulcan that really blows you away 😱
Seeing these planes in the UK from YT folks posting them is always exciting
You’re most welcome. It is amazing how technology advances. I mentioned in a live imagine showing 617 Sqn in the 1940s that in 2020s they will be flying an F35!
So beautiful to see and watch ted❤❤❤❤❤
Ooohhh yeah. Sure is
Absolute amazing ❤Well done Nikos 👏 great camera 📷 work as always 👍🏻👍🏻
Oiii oiii Ian thank you
It's like out of a science fiction film! :-)
Great shots of a great pair of aircraft. Thanks 👍
Whenever i see the Eurofighter Typhoon on it's own it looks like a tiny aeroplane, but oddly next to the Lancaster it looks quite big, or is the Lanc smaller than it seems?? What would be a great shot would be a WWII era Typhoon flying next to the Eurofighter!
Thank you. Here’s a thought, the Spitfire has a larger wingspan than the Typhoon!

Oh, Ted you know how to get the eyes welling up! Nearly 58,000 brave men died in Bomber Command from 1939-1945 (my mother's first fiance was one of them), but they were treated like pariahs by Churchill (no Bomber Command in the Victory Parade) and other post-WW2 Governments. This was and remains a shameful part of the UK's military history. It was public money and a huge campaign supported by the late Robin Gibb, which resulted in the marvellous Bomber Command memorial in Green Park. I'd like the critics of Bomber Command to stand underneath the Lanc in the RAF Museum and contemplate what those long-dead crews went through on their nightly missions into Occupied Europe. Would they (the critics) have the round spherical objects to do what those chaps did? Not ruddy likely! Rant over! Per Ardua ad Astra. Thanks, Nikos and Ted!
Definitely the turn of the Hurricane next year!❤
Thanks
Oiii oiii Stephen 🤙🏼 thank you for the super thanks🤙🏼
I have just liked your video and Stream Ted ❤
Oii Oii thank you very much
Remember the camouflage typhoon doing the same with a spitfire for the 75th anniversary of the Battle of Britain about 7 or 8 yrs ago
That was awesome Annie
Looking forward to BBMF members day at end of Sept. Hopefully much of the same then
Hopefully and see you there Annie as we are there too

Fabulous video. Still amuses me that those commentators don’t seem to realise that you can’t hear them- while you’re trying to enjoy the sound of the planes. A few words here and there should be enough - like when you said at 6:40 - “Get ready for the break “ perfectly timed.
Thank you so much 🤙🏼 appreciate that very much
Terrific footage, are you at Duxford on September 17th?
No but we are there 14th October
😮😮😮❤❤❤xxxx
I have just subscribed to you @Clairebear0675
🩵❤️💜
Where was this?
Bournemouth
Did you mention where it was?
Bournemouth
I wish I'd been there. In the old days before the Brighton crash it flew down low level in the River Dart at walking pace. Actually might have been the Typhoon then. 2015 maybe? Spectacular. @@TedConingsby
No disrespect to the amazing Typhoon, but I wonder why they do not pair the F35 with the Lancaster? After all 617 squadron now has the F35.
I guess firstly the F35 would need a PDA, and to maintain this would need to practice a display once within every ten days, I guess it’s a Coningsby thing but I see what you mean. I mentioned something on the lines on the live imagine telling 617 Sqn in 1940 that this is what they would be flying in 80 years time
There is no other country on earth that can match that class. I wager the Typhoon was at stall speed and hence the high angle of attack.
Thank you. Not quite, Brighty said that they were going at 120mph, at max alpha it’s as low as 90! Ooohhh yeah
Incredible!!
Ooohhh yeah
❤
Ooh yeah
oooooH Best one Yet
Thank you Nikos
Oii oiii thank you
