This Video Is For Educational Purposes. It is meant to show the psychology behind how police interact with suspects to try and get their confession.
In this jcs inspired true crime documentary, we take a look at the interrogation of David Kinney. After he finds his friend's body, the police decide to take a closer look at David.

You may have seen this case go viral on another channel but what you may not know is that in that video, they only used a few minutes of a very interesting interrogation. This interrogation is now one of my favorites and I think you all will enjoy watching David try to act his way out of being a suspect.
This is definitely a crazy case! The plot twist is 🥴🥴😵💫!
I love that multiple crime channels post the same cases. It’s nice seeing different opinions, different aspects, and different psychological perspectives all on the same case.
Ive never seen this one.. Great Job... 👍
It sounds like his wife knew they were f*cking. He hinted, and she seemed to understand what he was saying. He talks about Brad being "like that" and "he wants to take me from you and the kids". I took that to mean Brad told him he should break it off with his wife so they'd be together. David says "no", Brad threatens to out him anyway, so he kills Brad.
Red Tree Crime is the new GOAT for interrogation vids. Keep it coming!
When a homicide detective says, "I don"t think your that type of guy", He definitely thinks your that type of guy.
Right! Also when they say your not detained your free to go at anytime., Other words your screwed!!! Js

Yes and when they acknowledge how smart you are, they definitely wouldn't say that if they thought you were stupid.

What I've learned watching hundreds of these...
If you're too calm you're guilty
If you're not calm enough you're guilty
If you show no surprise you're guilty
If you do show surprise you're guilty
If you don't show emotion you're guilty
If you do cry you're guilty
Basically you're guilty as soon as you're in that room talking.
So get a lawyer, period!

Just admit it, you're guilty!

Yeah, the rule seems to be, it's the room that's the problem!

Pro tip: saying 'sir' a copious amount of time doesn't make you sound innocent
Yes sir! …oh shit! 🚔
24:34
Oh we are WAAAY past sir! 😂
I was born and raised to ALWAYS say “sir” and “ma’am”. Idk his full backstory obviously, but if his claim saying that he was raised that way, he could completely be doing it out of nervous reaction. I have done the same thing when I would get in trouble with my parents as a child and with school staff if I got in trouble there. It’s just like the first instinct sometimes to soften the blow of whatever is coming. It sounds like he’s doing that part out of nerves honestly.
It's instinctual when nervous
If he said sir more he would have looked innocent.
The manner in which he devastated his wife... it's truly heart-wrenching. These videos serve a dual purpose for me. They provide information, yet also illustrate how swiftly one's life can spiral into misfortune.
It’s so weird to think about all the risks that I’ve taken in my life that could have ended my life early. Watching these videos I’ve realized how reckless I was as a kid sneaking out and smoking and drinking with the wrong people. Thank god I’ve been protected thus far
Exactly and sending his daughter in to find the body of a man she called Uncle is about as sick as what he did to His best friend .
It's so important to remember that. None of us are immune to one bad choice (or even a string of bad choices)! Under the right/wrong circumstances, anyone can become a "monster". Sure some are set up to fail or have a higher chance (e.g., poor support systems), but it really could happen to anyone and it's important to remember that even if they did heinous things, they're people not too different from those who haven't committed terrible crimes.
But there were many steps along the way that lead up to this. So he could've stopped anytime in the path. Rather than going on it.
Apparently I have never had a real best friend. My "best" friend of 15 years never even once tried to have sex with me. Not once. What a selfish jerk.
Not exactly... Bad... But I can see not taking no for an answer, definitely.

yes you have right, sometime i feel that USA low is strange. Last time I saw a hearing where the associates planned the theft. One was to watch over the robbed, the other was to set up a bank account for transfer. The guard panicked and killed the hostage. The person who was in the bank, who didn't commit the murder, didn't even have it in the plan - she got the same sentence as the killer - life imprisonment. That's a bit absurd to me. You can do nothing but try to steal and you'll get sentenced like a murderer. I know you're about to say that this person may not have been involved in the theft. But the punishment should be commensurate with the crime committed. Here, murder has been equated to setting up an account miles away from the scene of the murder

@@kristinaminnix4914 its disgusting
Right?!
Yeah, I would've probably figured he did it because it was so theatrical, that there had to be some guilt in there.
He looks like he's halfway in a state of shock. Its possible he had a huge meltdown later than night.
The way he was with his wife tells you all you need to know about him.
First he asks her to stick by him. Then he sounds irritated at her surprised reaction. And as she's having a break down over realizing her husband cheated, killed his lover/best friend and brought her and their daughter to find the body, he ignores her pain and keeps talking. Instead of showing any amount of remorse for her suffering, he keeps trying to get her to see his side by manipulating her with "What would you do if..." and "I was scared..." blah blah blah.
No care in the world about how this must feel for her. Only trying to make her see his side so she doesn't leave. He can't even comprehend he should care for her emotions.
He was just annoyed that she was making a mountain out of a molehill. At least if you ask him. To me it would've been pretty serious.
I felt so bad for her. I hope she left him.
I see it as he is the one going to jail and only had so much time to talk. So he had to try to say what he could in the short time to try to win her over to staying on his side. He knew that if he lost her he would be going to jail alone. That's what scared him. So yes he was inconsiderate of her feelings but when there is a countdown on a timer that when it runs out your ass is off to jail, then you put things aside to do what's necessary for you at that point in time. I'm sure in his mind his wife and kids are on the outside and safe. Where as he is going to be fighting for his life for the rest of his life in that cement box. I dont care who you are, if you have a countdown on your time left in the outside world your time will be all about yourself and no one else. He could have tried his best to answer the hundreds of questions she wants to ask but he has all the time now while he is sitting in prison to answer them, at the time of the interrogation room his time was limited so he used it the best he could. Cant say what you would do unless your put in that situation. You can say you would be the stand up person all you want but once you make a mistake like he did your mind dont do the stand up decision making that it use to. Now it's in full flight mode and your just making every decision off of whims.
And to add he actually isn't saying he had a relationship with him. But at thé end he says "things are going to be said" i wonder when she Found out he was a secret gay Guy who basicly let her live a life of lies.
She was simply a beard for this Jagoff That's all she was " Look I'm a happily married man with children. I'm not gay" #Asshat

The moment when the interrogator looks back at the camera at 27:35 and shows the camera his disgust at him in that moment is one of the most intriguing things I have ever seen in any of these interrogation situations. Typically, you never see the face or clear details of the face but here you can see his emotions towards the murderer.
The murderer showed his disgust? Lmaoo
Whoops

Top notch job by this investigator!!
"This is just between us"...and by "us", I mean EVERY human being 😄😄😄
His poor wife. It was so hard to watch her come to the realization that she and their child's life was forever gonna change. People need to think about the consequences their choices are going to have on the people who love them most instead of just acting or reacting on an impulse.
Shell forgive and stay with him because she already stayed when he was f*** another man.
I don't think she did know otherwise why would he lie and say that they were fighting over money to her I don't think she knew that he was cheating with men I think the guy probably threatened to tell his wife and make sure his wife and kids left him that's why he killed his lover
no shit sherlock
@@shawntishabeck Nobody claimed she knew about it moron
yeah but he didn't know what to do.
He should’ve just said I’m not a guy you should shed tears for and just to forget me but instead “be there for me” the audacity in this guy is unbelievable.
This is a difficult one to comment on as there are so many facets to it. The contrast between his histrionics when denying everything and the calm manner in which he confessed to his crime speaks volumes - what an embarrassing performance he gave and I can perfectly understand the detective's look of exasperation towards the camera. I'm sure most angles of this have been covered in the comments but there are important warnings in this case. Guys: don't ever get involved with men who are never going to give up their married lives for you (I know - I've been there), and as for those guys who are struggling with your sexuality - you don't just owe it to yourselves to decide who you really are BEFORE you make life changing decisions such as getting married, you owe it to your theoretical future wives and lovers to do the right thing by them before YOU create scenarios that could just end up like this one...
Really good video!! Thank you!!
Detective: it’s 2017…this is all just between us.
UA-cam audience in 2023: 👁👄👁
I don't remember exactly what he said but something to the point of, between you n me, man to man... I was like... ummm... 😂😂
I was about to comment exactly the same things with the emoji face 😂
I'm baffled by the fact how they never once ask for a lawyer. It's so beyond me
They're Idiots
Yeah but if they did we wouldn't have this amazing content! Lol
He's American 😆 they ain't that smart
I kept calling out to the TV, “get a lawyer”…….. as if he could hear me “ 🙄😂
Everyone knows lawyer up. You aren't going to see videos of people remaining silent and contacting lawyers. Kind of like people saying criminals are stupid... the only criminals you are seeing are the ones who got caught.
I’m so surprised she didn’t care about the whole cheating and sleeping with a man
The detectives face when the guy starts crying is hilarious
The patience these interrogators have is insane.
They easily manipulate clueless idiots
Lol dont pay them I grantee you they loose their patience. Lol the longer it goes the less desk work you gotta do.
I'm pretty sure they get paid well for that patience.
@@grandmascreampie5372 All the shit they see and experience on the job - they deserve to get paid a very well.
Money helps😉
She's thinking about her kids future, he's still whining about her being there for him. Just goes to show how messed up his priorities were by comparison. It was his murderous streak, his wandering eye, his selfish attitude that led to his family's ruin.
Yeah the poor kids
@@peanutbutterisfu them kids belong to the streets now
He's a disgusting human being. Instead of leaving the family to hopefully move on, this Fruity Felon is playing cornhole with his best friend & risked infecting her with diseases. David will be fine in prison playing boy for the guys. She needs to divorce this creep & move on for the kid's sake at least.
This detective is awesome.
Normally I’m so annoyed that the suspects don’t even bother to act upset…. It’s fine, I’ll stick with that because if this is the alternative, 🤢. No thanks.
What really bothers me is people who commit murder, and are idiots. I'm not saying I want the killers to get away, it just bothers me to think that my life could come to a random and sudden end because of an idiot 😭
You dont see the really smart ones getting caught. You know who did the perfect flawless crime? No, and you never will, because its flawless
I definitely hear where you're going with that, though if i had to go out by another human --with that other reply from @valterstrumpiks7832 in mind-- I think I'd rather be ended by an idiot so it's figured out and i get a chance of justice 😕
@@valterstrumpiks7832 WORD. My mother was just another victim of #domesticmurder ... look up Laura Niemeyer Boshell from Augusta .. that's the bastard that committed just another type of a perfect murder by purposeful neglect and poisoning via old prescriptions. My mother had purple urine ... UTIs since 2018 (as I'd find out later) and Laura knew all of this and that mom never had LEGAL clearance from her primary to have major back surgery (for stenosis that most of us will have some form of by my mom's age of 80). Because my mom was old ... they didn't even give her 24 hours to live and allowed my scrum bag butt ugggz sister to approve unplugging mom from life support AFTER 30 MIN of this male looking loser walked in mom's hospital room. I believe God has a big surprise for this water buffalo aka Laura Niemeyer Boshell. Ugggz af. Look her up. I have to delete this soon...but just want show what she looks like. I'm no beau myself ...but being compared to her always made me sick to stomach...even attempted suicide over it twice. My mother was murdered because she raised that bastar-- to KILL her. Ok off the soap box. Thanks if you read it this far😄😁😁
Just because he couldn't deal with his life changing.
Well that’s how the world is. You could die at any time. There’s nothing rational about it at all. Also smart people never are interrogated , they ask for a lawyer right away. And smart people are meticulous planners who think of a lot more than dumb people so it takes longer to catch them
When he’s lying, David gets very loud and defensive but when he’s telling the truth he just plainly answers the question. When the detective asks David if his wife is involved David just says, “no sir.” However when the detective implies that david is involved he gets real defensive and even starts screaming, “oh my god!” Over and over again. That shows his guilt and who he really is. It shows he’s selfish, stupid, and manipulative.
And a little faggot
Oh My God how can you say that?! 😂
Did you have your course on the internet or at the university?
I feel so bad for the wife and the kids. Man oh man, they've got a tough...tough road ahead of them. On top of finding this out and having to move forward one day at a time, having to continue working, then come home and make sure the kids' lives are as stable and normal as possible, leaving very little if any time left over for self care. Then, after pulling the double duty of mother and father that has been thrust upon her so unforgivingly, she's left going to bed with only her tangled thoughts and an array of emotions; the only escape from anguish, anxiety and sleeplessness being intermittent dreams inevitably becoming nightmares.
“Idc lets sprinkle the gay thing in there” 😂😂😂 that part sent me flying!!!😂😂😂😂
Best 3 seconds of the video 27:34 - 27:37. The look on the detectives face sums up what we're all thinking! Great Work Detective!
