In this JCS Inspired video, we take a look at the story behind Brendt Christensen and the analyze his interrogation as we discuss the tactics the FBI used to interrogate him
This is one of my favorite interrogations and even though it has been done before, I wanted to do it on my channel so I apologize to those that were looking forward to a newer interrogation. I promise I have great interrogations incoming *Quick Channel Update* This is the last video using my old equipment and I have some great stuff in the works. Longer videos, subtitles, crazy cases, better audio, more narration audio and much more so don't forget to subscribe so you don't miss any of it! (UPDATE) I realize I pronounced the name of the state wrong lol
You did a great job! Thank you. The cops worked very well together and made mincemeat out of the guy. Good on his wife too.
That's hype bro, I'm looking forward to the inevitable JCS/RTC crossover episode
Everybody has their own touch on it I like I like hearing everybody's opinion. I like how the police officer noticed the crack and the wheel cover kudos to him
Don't worry about the state. I live less than 10 minutes from Illinois and everyone pronounces the s. Sometimes ironically. Sometimes not.
Even though other channels may cover the same cases - I enjoy your thorough & detailed content, that often shares info that was left out on other videos. Please continue the great content!

This happened in my town. The Chinese community were very supportive of Ying Ying’s family. They are a poor rural family. They flew them here, provided housing. Hired them a lawyer, fed them, etc. This was a terrible crime.
😭😭😭
That's sad man, thank g they scooped him up
Why would the family of the girl need a lawyer? Would not State prosecutor office represent her?
And a black supremacist who posted on social media how he wanted to hurt White people, ran his vehicle thru a Christmas Parade injuring 60 and killing 6, but the media buried the story and not a single White person protested this racist hatred.
Maybe we need to take a page from the Chinese playbook and start acting like a collective.
@@marianne1959 Probably for Civil Court to recoup what damages could even be equivalent to losing their daughter.
It’s so depressing, they sent their brilliant young daughter to a new country hoping she would achieve her potential, and yet her life was taken by some complete low-life maniac. Rest in Peace Ying Ying, and peace to her family as well 💔
Their mistake was sending her to Illinois
@jasonx1580 Lemme guess, you’re a repubneck? What would be a better place for them to send her? A red state? The red states that have the highest violent crime rates in the country per capita, as opposed to the blue states with lower crime rates per capita?
@jasonx1580 You don't know your future and the fate of your family until bad things happen to you and your family.. 😀😄😁😆😂

I love how the detective starts off by saying “wow a masters in physics, you must be way smarter than me” and the stupid idiot goes “thanks”. Fell for it hook line and sinker.
Yeah I know what a dumbass he literally says “thanks” instinctively because of how big headed he is
.........the tecs had way better mental health tho !!!
Detectives playing "dumb" emboldens the suspect to make up lies to incriminate himself later. Just like how Columbo, the TV detective used to operate.
He also falls into the trap that if he has a PhD in physics, he must be smart in all other areas of life. When in reality, you could be a surgeon and yet I wouldn't want you cleaning my teeth or flying my airplane. It was a good move because it immediately props up the suspect, and thus he now thinks he's way smarter than everyone else.

These detectives did a great job. Built rapport early, flattered his ego and then kept him talking whilst establishing a timeline in a non-threatening way prior to really challenging him.
Exactly......folk flatter others egos all the time! A genuine compliments go beyond flattery. As there's way more to the persons words than fluff and noise.
Especially considering that he basically couldn’t handle the PhD program. When people in physics say “I decided I didn’t want a PhD”, 9 out of 10 times it’s because they couldn’t hack it.
Same thing they do with their wives...

To not tell where her body is or even pieces of her body is just wrong. Her poor family wanted to take her home to grieve.
I was a student at University of Illinois when it happened and I was in a building right across the street where he picked her up on the same day. If he was driving another car, say a Toyota Corolla, there was no way the detectives could arrest him and/or build a case against him. And that's so scary! There were exactly TWO black Saturn Astra registered to Urbana-Champaign addresses. Even with that, they still had to use his wife to get a confession from him. And the confession came when they were attending a vigil that was organized by students for her.
What's creepy is Brendt Christensen claimed he killed 12 others .. and police assumed he's lying or drunk!

No idea why.
@@scottb721 well he's Jim and he can't swim.
Simple as.
Man, I’m glad I live where I do. I don’t know why so many people are afraid of the woods. People are scarier than any animal.
I liked the city because there were still witness'. Id never get in a car with someone.
there are people in the woods too. not just animals
@@gristamshackleford2102 yes I’m aware. if your point is that those people I’m speaking of are afraid in the woods because of humans, you might want to stop watching so many horror movies
@Lorraine Easter see above. I do not think I’m the only one. I also thought I made it clear that I’m speaking of people who are afraid of the wildlife. But I guess context isn’t enough anymore
@@drnogueiras8783 movies?! all i watch is true crime and alot of people get killed while walking in the woods. look at those 2 girls in Missouri walking on that train bridge, and plenty of people go missing in national parks every year
Her parents were broken after this happened, she was their world. They thought she’d be safe in America, just a heartbreaking story.
Truely sickening.
no one is safe in usa lmao, europe is much safer.

safe and america are words that dont go together
About 35 yrs. ago, I was interrogated by 2 detectives who were told that I may have had something to do with my friend's murder.
I found it interesting how they ganged up on me just like these 2. One sits back, quiet, just watching, while the other bombards you with questions and then they pull the switcheroo.
2 against 1, very psychologically effective.
Btw, I had nothing to do with my friends' murder. His wife had him shot 6 times by a couple of 17 yr. olds
Sounds like something a guilty person would say....
@@nickyblue4866 Say what? If you're implying I had anything to do with my friend's murder, you're dead wrong and quite silly for you're uninformed comment.
@@ziggyschumann5284 I think they were joking, although this is 9 months later and I'm 100% sure you stopped caring. :p
@@ShidaPenns don't belive him, I'm his ded friend.
It was him! He did this to me!
Did this interrogation make you relive your experience so you had to comment that you identify with a murderer? 35 years ago and your still playing a victim? Maybe your friends wife should have gotten you admitting to it too? You should just delete this comment on your own.
First video of yours I have watched. Your commentary is excellent! Great video.
Wow if this is your first, you are in for a treat
@@RedTreeCrime yeap she is in for a real treat alright, all the episodes on this channel are fantastic 👍🏻💯👏🏻👏🏻🧡
Looks like all that schooling didn't give him any sense
There’s book sense and common sense, he clearly doesn’t have the latter.
just cause you can pass a test doesn’t mean you’re smart
Great work by the interrogators!
I didn’t think the alternative explanation tactic would work. That was like magic, just unlocked him talking even more.
