I think Dutch saving John is due to him feeling guilty over leaving John when he got shot or arrested on the mission our best selves. Same goes for the remaining money as well. Dutch already had what he wanted, so he gave everything else to John, his other son (Arthur being the first im dutches heart).
Yeah it was a revenge mission for Dutch. Micah is the one responsible for the gangs demise. Dutch was responsible too but only because he was manipulated and eventually figured that out. He probably still loved John deep down so he let him be. Fantastic story!

I've noticed that Dutch/Micah only shoots 1-2 seconds after you kill one of them, so actually, even without a good eye, if you try hard you can shoot the second one, I think it's worth a try.

Dad, you should of shot dutch once he betrayed you, you wouldn't have to kill micah because he wouldn't prevent Arthur from reaching his gun, causing micah to die, and Arthur to maybe live a while longer, I wouldn't of been kidnapped, and you would have got a ton of money from his bounty
