- Hey guys, I thought it would be cool to take the Speedmaster out for ride and tell you guys more about this very cool bike. I call it my Speedmaster Black... How it would look if Triumph made a Speedmaster Black edition.
Man, I wish Triumph had a model exactly like this in their stable. Great job!

Removing the pillion + rear rails + adding teardrop mirrors = good! Everything else I am not sure since Triumph perfected the old iconic classic design into everything on this Speedmaster a masterpiece! .. it's just me and my opinion :)
Looks amazing! I have an all-original red 2022 Speedmaster but will definitely consider some of these types of mods. Very cool.

Beautiful bike! I loved the Speedmaster so much I just bought the 2022 Speedmaster Goldline LE and immediately bought Madstad touring and fly screens, Viking saddlebags with quick disconnect mounts, and added the Triumph dresser bar and backrest/stay, which are all easy to get off if I want to strip it back to a Bobber look. But I love the way you blacked your SM out - just looks so cool! After seeing yours, I will switch out to floor boards and also change out the mirrors. I loved the comfort seat the new ones come with, so I'll leave that alone, and because the color of the LE is silver ice, I think the original chrome looks great; but, I do really like your black exhausts. Very well done! A definite keeper!

Thank you sir... Chrome is also nice when done right. I was on one of the Triumph forums, there was this Speedmaster with white walls and a Corbin seat with white piping, lots of chrome, side covers and all. It looked sweet.
That IS a great sounding (and looking) bike for sure!! Always good to have second bike options for a ride! Save that 3 grand for the third bike option you've been thinkin about!!

Yo Ken! Nice interpretation of the Speedmaster. Mine is similar except I went WITH chrome ha ha. I am in the process of changing the handle bars as well. I bought tracker bars from BC so we'll see how that goes.
Thanks so much, I'm starting to like the chrome when its done right. I switch out the bars with T120's . They fit with no modification. My bitwell's needed some customizing to get it right. The main issue is the throttle side, it has to be long enough from the nbnd to the end of the bars so the throttle does not bind.

Thank you for the kind words. I was just at a motorcycle dealer today, and they had a t120... and though it had lots of chrome, it was a beautiful machine that I would have love to own. My problem is I Iove so many different bikes, I want them all.

SO badass bro!...I was thinking the same as you. I passed on the bobber black cause I do wanna do some riding with my wife and I found this video looking up parts to black out my speedmaster. This is EXACTLY what i want! Super bummed that triumph doesn't offer the speed master in black but I'll be buying all black parts for mine. Question, where did you get your exhaust? I found most of the badges in black, and the cam cover. But where did you get that exhaust? Also, the triumph badge and black fender bits? I got a corbin coming in the mail already and wanna eliminate that chrome bar. Im not a fan of chrome either. Really appreciated this video friend. From one regular dude ridin to another.
Thanks man, Triumph needed to offer a black version. All of the parts I used were in the Triumph accessory catalog, I don't have part numbers but it all came from Triumph. The Corbin seat is very comfy, its firm but it works. Again, thanks much for the kind words.
I really love the additions to the bike! Hey, what kind of a mounting system did you use for the small bag at the right side passenger foot peg?
Thanks, I so wish i still had the Speedmaster. I used the mounting holes for the passenger pegs. You need 1/2 inch spaces and large washers. Just drills holes in the bag. It was super easy.
Love what you've done. Exactly what I'm looking for. Like how the seat sits properly too. How do you find the corbin seat? How tall are you? I'm 5ft6 (32 inside leg).
The seat is firm, but comfortable. At first I thought it was too firm, but after a long ride I was surprised that there were no pressure points... really like it. I'm 5 11 with the same in seam. The seat should be fine for you.

Thanks... it takes the wind of my chest, and very little buffeting to the helmet. I prefer to ride with the screen.

hello, very nice bike, how do you feel with the handlebar? i have doubts about the beach bars and i wouldlike read your opinion before buy the speedmaster, best regards
I think it depends on how tall you are. I'm 5'11, and the beach bars were very comfortable. I changed the bars mostly for looks, but they also helped when riding aggressively, felt much better under hard acceleration and hitting the turns. If you're just a cruiser they're fine. For an easy swap get the t120 triumph bars... I had the biltwell bars on then switch to the t120... the biltwell you need to modify them. T120's need no cable mods and bolt right on.

Thanks... nothing to cap. Just 2 bolts to remove them.

Mine is still in chrome though, but think your bike looks amazing. Where are your swingarm bags from if you don’t mind my asking, and are they specifically for the Speedmaster?

Agreed, to much chrome for my taste. This is the kit I used.... MULTI-FUNCTION LAMP KIT A9838056. Type that in your search engine, lots of dealers for the kit.

Oh' you did great. It looks fantastic. I have a basic Bonneville 2014 and love mine, but really like yours better...ha My question is, does your 2018 ride about the same as the new version, vibration wise?
Thanks... the 2018-22 Speedmaster are same, I never felt any vibration to speak of.

Great looking bike and great work on the mods. How did you remove the tank badges ? I’ve always thought they look a bit cheap and tacky.
Thanks... they are held on by 2 screws. You have to peel the center part, that part is glued to the larger chrome casting.

Hi Ken. I am a new Speedmaster owner. I am 5'10 190 lbs. I am wondering if you could give me more insight to the floorboards I feel that the stock forward controls are not forward enough for me. I was considering the mid controls jusy hoping to get some more feed back on comfort of the floor boards also was wondering of you used risers for the handlebar I have the alt bar and am considering using risers. I was hesitant to get the floor boards, but it was one of the best investments I made. I tend to ride sporty, so I usually put my toes on the back part of the boards. You have more room on the boards. I feel you can stretch your legs out to the front of the boards with your heals on the front. I also like the heal shifter... so much better than a harley or indian... much better range of adjustment.
I went through I few different bars and did use risers. The stock bars with risers were very comfy, but as I said, I like to ride sporty. I switch to a high tracker bar for my style of riding. It was not a simple bolt on, but I made it work. I wound up using the Triumph T 120 bars, no risers, and it was a simple swap with no modifications... it fit my riding style perfectly.
@@Yo-Ken Thanks a million...I am spirited rider as well started on R1s, my last bike before the speedy was a BMW R9T. I actually just ordered the mid controls. I went to the dealership today and sat on the bobber black and feel the mids are more inline with what I am used to. Hopefully they work for me..I an going order the 1 inch risers for alt bars as well... thanks for the reply

I currently run a modded, stripped down super light 2017 T100 that will be hard to let go, but the SM, as factory, is a just a thing of beauty! A few refinements and It can become a badass ride. Love your bike.
