    It was you that finally sold me on this scooter ! I have to say, This is one of my favorite scooters in the garage ! She sits next to my goldwing and my 83 ironhead. when the weather is lower than 45f I leave the bonnie for the wing for the extra wind protection and comfort, but the seat alone on the bonnie is better than the wing hands down. when i picked the bonnie up from the dealership, i spent the first day in the hills, then the next day on a 7 hour ride through the mountains and down to the bay. My friend went on his harley and complained about pain all the way down and back, I got back from that ride and didnt want to park it, it was that comfortable to me all around. She is stock, the only thing i put on was an oem radiator screen. no regrets ! Ive been nothing but pleased with this scooter. off the line is actually impressive to say the least. Be Well ! and thanks again for being a great push into the purchase !

      That is great to hear and so pleased to hear you are loving the bike. It is so comfortable and I think just that bit more refined than the Harley's.
      I am surprised it is more comfortable then the Goldwing! Just shows how well designed the Speedmaster is.
      Cheers and wishing you many more happy rides on your Speedmaster 👍

      @@redangrevival I think the bonnie is just perfectly designed around a build like mine. I have a 28 inseam and stand 5'8" and its like that bike fits like a well made glove. the wing, ain't made for short people like me. and the peg positioning is spot on with the bonnie, the wing tends to get uncomfortable to be with the straight down pegs. I have to say, the best part of the bonnie is at stops, so balanced I feel like i don't even need to put a foot down at stops. the sound of the stock exhaust is loud enough for me. the older i get the less loud i want. but it is loud enough. Be well !!

    It was the Speedmaster that brought me to your channel and it's really been fun. I love your rides on Speedy and really enjoy your reviews, even when it's a bike I'd never consider. Those reviews opened my mind to the Trident, which I realised would be more suitable to my current location than a cruiser. I also believe, hope there will be a Scrambler in my future. However, Speedy looks really amazing now and I love your channel.

    Love the mods you've done with the bike! I found your channel last year when I was researching bikes, and I actually bought a 2018 Speedy with only 500 miles on it. It's been my daily commuter here in Texas, and I really love it because most the other riders around here have Harleys so my bike is quite unique lol. I've put about 6,000 miles on her so far. Only mods I've done is the mini ape hangers, comfort seat, and a swing arm bag to carry some small items.
    I'll tell you she's a tough beast, I lost traction in a twisty a few months back and the bike flipped and ended up in a ditch (no physical injuries to myself except a minor scrape). All I had to do was clean off the mud, adjust the throttle back to the proper place, and then reattach one of the rear turn signals which got knocked off. Other than that there was no serious damage! She can take a beating if she needs to, made to ride hard.
    Love your content sir, especially the videos where you address mental health which is something I try to be conscious of as well. Ride safe, and keep up all the great work!

    • @redangrevival
      @redangrevival  2 роки тому +1

      Hi Tom, thanks I appreciate it, glad you like the mods 👍 Brilliant congrats on your Speedy, sounds like you have put some great miles it and use it to the max! I love the look of the ape hangers, unfortunately they do not fit with the highway screen at the same time. Would like to try them out at some point though.
      Glad you are ok after that crash, sounds like it could have been nasty! Wow that really is testament to the build quality, I won't be trying it any time soon but good to know she can take a knock.
      Many thanks, on a journey dealing with mental health myself and motorbikes have just been so helpful for me. All the best and stay safe. Cheers

    Love the down to earth, real , review from a rider / owner of the bike.
    I was procrastinating as l was not supported by family in buying a bike.
    I have been bike less for way too long.
    Riding is my happy place and l have felt like part of me is missing and nothing can replace that peace, joy and freedom. Anyway less about me.
    Your review, helped me feel confident in the ride, quality of build, handling and reliability.
    I purchased a 2nd hand 2022 Speedmaster with 80kms on the clock and love it. I have not yet done as many miles / kms as you, work full time, planning some leave to do a bike trip.
    Thank you, totally agree with your review and love my bike. I have had no issues.
    The only thing (1), that is the only negative, is the limited fuel consumption.
    I live in Western Australia, some long distances between fuel when getting out and about. Take some extra fuel - l put the carrier bar where the pillion seat would be, extra luggage and fuel bags.
    Enjoy Speedie, how can you not.

Will soon receive the backrest/luggage rack (everything quick disconnect) and will be done except for checking out the camshaft you just mentioned. I too find she has plenty of power, but a 20bhp boost might be nice. I only have 1,600km on my bike, so you are definitely an inspiration. I have done a little touring on her and plan to do a lot more here in Okinawa and mainland. I think she can really handle touring quite well. I find her super comfortable, especially with the floorboards, which you might consider, and those Viking hard leather saddle bags. Ciao!

    Thanks first of all for sharing great video on ur speedy! I have exactly the same one, also bought on pretty much the same time 2019 :) I have made around 11000 kms on it until now. Well, i jus love my speedmaster and its definitely a great bike and love the way its built. I just happened to take it to the regular yearly service and i was surprised when i heard the Triumph mechanic mentioning about the gear shift from 1st, neutral and 2nd gears which is not as smooth as the others shifting upwards. I have also felt its not so smooth like before, it disengages sometimes, but based on the clutch adjustment, i get away with it. But, i should admit that there is some problem with the gear shift and at times u might feel that its hard or ur not able to shift from 1st gear to the 2nd easily. Have you faced it too? I follow ur channel especially for the Speedmaster and also thankful to great videos shared by Stuart Fillingham and i remember he mentioning about this problem on most of the Bonneville machines. Did u ever happen to come across such a situation in ur speedy?

    • @redangrevival
      @redangrevival  2 роки тому

      Yes I don't think I would describe it as strong vibration but it is definitely not the sweet sot on the rev range! I like to keep mine around 2/3k rpm. Not designed for over 3,500!

    • @rexbaumgartner2011

      Well, the maximum power of 76.9hp at 6,100rpm and 106Nm of peak torque at 4,000rpm. That's straight from Triumph. I would never touch 6100rpm, but the motor is built for it. Push yours to 4200rpm and you'll feel what I'm describing.

      @redangrevival  2 роки тому +1

      Hi, nice you have got the most out of your sportster! 👍 There is less travel in the Speedmaster suspension. It is good but I would say the T120 is better over a bumpy road etc... The Speedmaster suspension is fine but can become a bit choppy over a rough road. I would say the T120 suspension is a bit better to be honest.
      You can of course change the rear shock on the Speedmaster which apparently massively helps. In my opinion it is not a deal breaker! Cheers and same to you.

      @@redangrevival nice to hear. I'm not really very experienced, but read a ton of reviews prior to deciding on a bike. I had narrowed it down to either a 2022 Speedmaster or a 2022 T120. based on a ton of the reviews I read, the two bikes are very comparable, but most said that the T120 handles just a little better overall, and just edges out over the Speedmaster. but another consideration is height, and riding position, ultimately I got the T120 because it was slightly less for the goldline, and the reviews talking about the handling. I have almost 1k miles on it, and I absolutely love riding the bike. I doubt I would feel much different if I had gotten the Speedmaster.

Living where I do in Scotland there are not as many dry days as you have and this stops me from covering more miles. But when I do get out, like you, I really feel the benefit mentally. Sad thing that the steering head bearings would wear a notch in so quickly. The tighter they are with new bearings the better, but if you get them too tight the bike will weave left and right down the road until they wear in a bit. If they are loose, the bearings tend to ram the races with every bump in the road and soon you have a notch, so the tighter the better, however do not tighten a worn set of bearings or you can get stuck in the notch and down you go.

    Fleeting glimpse of your chain at 4:12 minutes looks like your links are not straight and probably stiffening up. If it is, you might be able to lubricate and work them free again or a new chain might be needed before too long. Worth checking. Could be the camera angle though.

Coming off a BMW 1200RT which I like but ready to slow down and enjoy the ride a bit more - rumble along rather than zip. Riding Utah and Colorado here in the USA which has some great roads but it can be long distances between Petro stations so that is a concern with this bike. I enjoy the Speedmaster in general ; from time to time I tend to consider it as a option and put it in equation, but I didn't crack for it.... till now.. However one of the things that along the years moved me away from the Speedmaster was the difficulty to lube the chain ( no center stand) when we are frar from home, in multi day tours for example. If in my garage is easy to pull the bike feet by feet and spray the chain , in a camping ground or at an hotel entrance, is not very "dignifying"... nor convenient. How have you been dealing with that "issue"? Greetings from Porto.

    The tank is too small for Aussie long-range touring. Needs a taller front sprocket for Aussie high-speed roads.I found the front windshield gave me head buffeting. Great real life review mate, seriously considering the speed master as my next bike, currently run a trophy se as my daily ride which is a big old lump, I do 350-400 miles a week, couple of questions, do a fair bit of two up riding at the weekend, do you think one of these would have enough grunt? Other alternative is a 1700 thunderbird if I can find one with low mileage, needing to go lower seat height as the GF has a bit of arthritis in her knees and really struggles to get on and off the trophy. Other question is that the standard touring screen, if so are you looking over the top of it or through it? I know from the trophy looking through a visor and a screen when it’s raining is nigh on impossible.

    I seem to have missed this video. Your SM is looking great and this video is testament to it.
    Good to know it has been totally reliable. As you say some bikes aren't.
    The Tecparts high lift cam seems the way to go with an engine remap.
    Have you seen their video installing one?
    ua-cam.com/video/J8xUOAROsBc/v-deo.html
    100bhp would make it quite a bit quicker and enjoyably so, money well spent. Almost as quick as bigger cruisers.
    Hope the rear shock and brakes can cope with the extra oomph.
    I am in the process of deciding which one to buy from several dealers.
    On the test ride everything was perfect except the Triumph 'non-comfort' seat. It just doesn't do anything for me. Have looked at possibly getting a Corbin seat but they are $800 and then shipping from the US, taxes and VAT on top would probably send the cost near or over £1k. Too salty for me.
    Sargent in the UK also do good aftermarket seats for around £350-400 so might get one of these instead if I get the SM I have my eye on.
    You are so right that they are un-intimidating to ride and people seem to gravitate to them to have a look and a chat. This evening happened on my test ride when I stopped for a short time to have a look around the bike.
