I love that Lee Greenwood was able to let the other vocalists cover the parts where he stepped out and did the adlibs. That had to feel amazing after doing the song for decades the same way. The entire song makes my heart swell with pride in our country, but the very second Adam hits us with that military snare, I go to pieces. He does it in Traveling Soldier too. There are many renditions of this song but I truly feel that this one is extra special! Thank you to all of our veterans for their service and sacrifices! Much love from a grateful American citizen! 🇺🇸🙏❤

It's not "by home free". Lee is 77 yrs old h er e. Awesome vocalist.
It's Lee Greenwoods song. He recorded it in 1984. When he decided to update it he asked Home Free to join him.
Rupp's flyover sounds at end were shattering. Lee Greenwood dug deep for this performance. All so uplifting to hear this amazing rendition.
This one choked me up My Man!! I'm a Viet Nam Veteran 1967-73. I served two years at the HQ 9th AF, Sumpter, SC, with TDY to various AF Units in Nam. My next three years I was Honored to be accepted to the USAF Honor Guard, Bolling AFB, Wash., DC. After a year I was promoted to the Official USAF Drill Team, where we flew across the Country performing 20-24 minute silent drill routines. If you ever want to see what I did, look up "USAF Drill Team Awesome Performance", and I was one of the four special performers. What chokes me up. During my 3 yrs. with the Guard, I was a body bearer for 147 Burials at Arlington Cemetery. I still remember the weeping and then how invariably they would jolt at the firing of the 21-gun Salute and then after TAPS was played we'd fold the Flag and present it to the OIC and he'd give it to the next of kin. Yeah, remembering all those families of those who gave their last ounces of devotion to duty and what a humble honor it was for e, made me weep. And you D, I love your flag background, tje hat you wear and your reactions that so match mine, God Bless you and keep you safe. sorry for the book

Thank you Richard for your service! I appreciate you so much. I'm the daughter of a highly decorated WW2 Veteran and I never got the chance to really get to know him before he passed away. So this song gets to me, I cry everytime I hear Home Free, Mr. Greenwood and the Singing Sargent's in this video! God Bless You and God Bless America!❤️🇺🇲

There is a video about the making of this video and Austin and Tim are in the studio with Lee Greenwood because they live in and near Nashville, but the others did theirs from studios in their Home towns because they were still somewhat separated and not touring together or anything at the time.
this was released on July 3rd, 2020, so yep right in the pandemic....they have about 30 songs they recorded all at their homes...Chance in Los Angeles, Rob in Minneapolis, Adam the beatboxer in Mankato Minnesota, and Tim in one Nashville suburb & Austin in another Nashville suburb

Regardless that I'm Canadian, I love this video and I've always liked this song. I can't feel the emotional pull to it that an American would but it's a beautiful song and it's been done more than justice in this rendition.
Tim & Austin both live around Nashville, Chance lives in/near Los Angeles, Rob & Adam both live in Minnesota.

The armed force singers are all auditioned and paid just to perform as good publicity for their branch. Same with the bands for all the branches. None of these folks go to battle ever. But they are professionals for sure. Notice they never have bars or medals on their uniforms.
