I could sit for hours and listen to Fast Eddie tell stories...fuck he's a great storyteller.
Eddie sounds like a guy to talk to in a pub. Super cool and down to earth. Rest in peace!
He used to drink in my local pub in Portobello Road West London 1978-1983 or so..good bloke, they were all great chaps.
R.I.P. FAST EDDIE, ONE OF THE MOST UNDERATED GUITARIST!
Who rated him low?
Yes very underrated awesome guitar player
Eddie is a class act and very cool
RIP Eddie. Just such a great guy. And thanks to the interviewers, for just letting him talk. We need more folks like this.
The best guitarist Motorhead ever, and never, had.
He had that certain style that brought that certain sound that we certainly can relate to killer guitarist he was
@@TorgMetal Yeah there was a certain feel/vibe that Eddie, Lem and Philthy had that couldn't be replicated in "newer" lineups. I like Mikey Dee, Lem and Campbell but the Hammersmith lineup is my favorite.
Best guuitarist was Robo Robinowitz.
No he was definitely in the band
R.I.P. "Fast" Eddie Clarke. One cool dude.
What a guy. Love hearing him speak so positively about his past.
I could listen to fast eddie all day.
Had the pleasure of meeting him once,he was a gentleman.
Effortless rocker !
R I P
Tell us more!
I wish I could have met him! R.I.P. Fast Eddie!
The great Motorhead folly...and Eddie was right all along.
Lemmy was a great "soundbite" man,but Eddie was the best conversationalist, and I knew all three of them pretty well from my local pub in West London where they all drank together in 1979-84 or so.
what was/is your local pub ? the alexandra ?
Wicked!
The best motorhead line up was this one!! Fast Eddie was a great bloke Rip
Legendary guitarist
One of a kind dude
Rest Easy Fast Eddie
Great interview. What strikes me about Clarke is his good humor and positive attitude. He could have become negative or bitter: he was part of an iconic rock group, but apparently didn't make much money from it; then he was kicked out for a stupid reason; then he formed Fastway with high hopes but then Way flaked out on him, and soon Dave King lost interest in the band. But through it all he maintained a good attitude. And what a great storyteller, I would have listened to him for an hour. May he RIP.
Fast Eddie is the coolest. His distinct guitar sound and skills, no one comes close in hard rock. Wish i had seen him live in the 80's. If Fastway tours i'm there.
Honest, pure, funny, and everything on point. That's what you imagine when you think of Motörhead.
such a class act Eddie...a true guitar legend if there ever was..
I could never really get into the new Motorhead, they were awesome live though especially in 1984, but for me the real deal has always been Lem, Fast, and Philthy Phil.. but for years I always thought Fast Eddie carried a chip on his shoulder and HE was the one who was unreasonable.. Now my eyes are open. How could they be so blind, to treat Eddie like that? Stupid really, completely stupid!!!
I love the lineup with Brian Robertson but they weren't great live. I love Phil Campbell but nobody had the riffs like Eddie.
glen atkinson No offense to Phil C but he couldn't even play the solo's right instead he makes a very diff. riff(which i still think is great) but doesn'r even fit the songs.
That's bands for you. Lem and Phil were just being tossers by not allowing Eddie to carry on. Shame as this line up was the best in my opinion. Oh, and Eddie was 100% correct about that stand by your man record. Utter crap.
Imagine the following albums if Eddie had still been on board 🤯let’s be honest they were born to be together it was written in the stars that that three piece got together the chemistry was event for all to see ♠️🖤🙏🏼✌🏽
Fast Eddie, Lemmy, and Philty RIP
Great to hear Eddie in a long interview. I love Motörhead today, with Phil and Mikkey, but Eddie has a special place in the history of the band. His riffs are what started a whole new sound in music. And he seems like a pretty sincere guy. Thanks for posting.
such a great character! first class musician too!id love to share a bottle of jack daniels with him.i could listen to his stories for hours :)he was right all along...
Thanks for this little gem, Eddie was a proper 'diamond geezer'.
I was at the Palladium show. They were on fire, and Eddie was clearly agitated. Too bad the best MH lineup disintegrated over a something like that.
Great guitarist, still dreaming of a Motörhead reunion
Realist 2.0 It's sad your dream won't come true. Eddie is the only original left. RIP Lemmy and Philthy
Le'Vin Moser now even Eddie is gone :(
@@dadiopimp Yep. It's really sad hearing this interview - he seems like such a great guy, and now he's dead with the rest of the classic lineup.
this didn’t she well
What's sadder is that there was an offer around 2000 for a Lemmy/Eddie/Philthy album and tour and Lemmy turned it down.
Eddie is so cool and down to earth. Great interview.
Fast Eddie Clarke one of our best guitar players, great bloke.
in all fairness, I love Motorhead, I have a tattoo on my arm to prove it, but I stil to this day can't stomach whatever they did with the plasmatics. really feel for Fast Eddie here
Don't forget Fastway, brilliant albums!
Brilliant Interview! What a Gentleman Fast Eddie was! No Inflated Ego like most of Today's Celebrities, It's sad a man of such Talent wasn't Financially Compensated for his Work! 🙏Rip F.E.C🎸🔥
Man, you can hear Ed's voice crack a bit when he tells the story of his being ousted.
I was AT his last gig (the Palladium), and I can tell you, you could cut the tension between he and Lem with a fuckin' knife.
They played well, maybe with desperation- there was feeling in the air of something terrible happening.
I'll never forget it.
R.I.P., 3 Amigos.
Natural storyteller..class guy
“You know, you always fight with the drummer.”
GREAT INTERVIEW!! Fast Eddie!
How down to earth is Eddie? Smashing bloke
Such a great guy and a great guitarist. Shame that his Fastway stuff never got the attention it deserves.
Fast Eddie great guitarist 1 of the best. keep on rocking Eddie. Cheers from San Diego California we love you out here.
Lot of wisdom in this man RIP FAST EDDIE
Such a genuine geezer R.I.P, and i mean it.
This guy is a God and here he is so humble and down to earth, awesome human being and so missed by all ♠️🖤✌🏽
As much as I worship Lemmy and admire Mikkey and Phil, Fast Eddie is the only member of Motorhead I wish I could meet. The guitar work in Dont Need Religion is what made me a Motorhead fan for life. That song has some of the most seriously badassed riffs Ive ever heard. I love the guitar work in Bang to Rights too. Eddie, you are a fn god.
ThorogoodFan1 cat scratch fevor lol
What a top man! Refreshingly honest & without ego. Sadly left us far too early to join Lem & Phil.
Just a lovely man! Miss him.
Great to hear about Fastway as well...they were on of my favourite bands at the time. Still love 'em
Underrated guitar player.
Kilmister, Taylor, Clarke, THE Motorhead sound and THE only Motorhead.
A great interview with a excellent insight into Eddie's career.
Fast Eddie Clarke-Champion&Legend
He would've been a great narrator for Audio books.
True class....Love your work and concerts Eddie....RIP.
One of the BEST Interviews ever.....2 thumbs up.
What a great sounding person. Listen to this interview and see how a famous person lives a life of humility.
This was an excellent listen, listened to it today when it's been announced that he died and you did the interview just right, the occasional prompt but just let him flow.
He`s a great conversationalist--A dying art.
What a fella... RIP Eddie 🤘
Happy Birthday for tomorrow Eddie! Always in our hearts 💝
♠️♠️♠️
R.I.P FAST EDDIE CLARKE THE ONE AND ONELY YOU WAS SO AWSOME IN MOTÖRHEAD AND HIS NAME WAS LEMME WE ARE MOTTÖHEAD.!
Great interview! I love Fast Eddie!
He's a right geezer is Eddy.
Really enjoyed listening to this. Great stuff.
Eddie was so calm compared to Phil and Lemmy 😂.
Amazingly interesting
I remember stand by your man being bad, but just reheard it and yep it's just !!HORRIBLE!!, I see Fast Eddie Clarks point
Closest thing in England to SRV; history has shown Eddie to be a legendary guitarist.
R.i.p fast Eddie u were a genuine geezer 💯🔱🌍✔✅
R.I.P Fast Eddie, what a legend!
Great interview! 4:30 “one of those bands that people started to like but weren’t sure why”. Fabulous comment and exactly right: they weren’t metal, they weren’t punk but they had the best of both genres which made them unique. … and a “bit of amphetamines”😂😂😂😂
Great bloke, and a great shame that the greatest Motorhead line up was lost over a simple argument. As a big fan of the band I'm still sad we've lost Lemmy and Philthy the world has lost a true pair of Legends!
What a great guy... very cool and real.
God rest you Eddie, true gentleman and pioneer!
Say what you like but Motorhead were never the same again....
Eddie, Phil and Lemmy are the true Motorhead! 🤘🏼💀🤘🏼
Eddie - mate, love you're energy, humour and joy for live!
I've just had this in the background enjoying your bit's of wisdom :)
All the best!
i like him so much he should come back to earth
Fast Eddie and Würzel are forever my favorite motörheadz
Miss these 3
I wish eddie became much more successful!!!
I wish Eddie had never left Motorhead. Imagine the music they would have made together...
Great interview...FEC could certainly spin a yarn....seemed like an awesome guy. Would have loved to had beers with him.
Oh, and a great guitarist, as well!
ICONIC
GOD BLESS
SAVE THE QUEEN WHAT-HAVE-YOU...
PHILADELPHIA USA ❤️
Always remembered “the fast one” ♠️
The band has had some fantastic musicians, and such great characters. Personally, I loved Wurzel's playing. But, for some reason, the classic lineup is simply beloved (by me, included). Great interview.
This is great material.Seen motorhead so many times and line ups.Preffered their 4 piece years the most live but to be fair the way Lemmy played his bass like a rythmn guitar 3 members was all they needed.
A great, great story teller!! 🙂
Fast one ... best ever lead :-)
Lot of wisdom on this man RIP FAST EDDIE
lars,wait outside...
great bloke
RIP 'Fast' Eddie
Love Eddie! Such a down to earth guy..You are missed
Iron fist was a brilliant album
Nah, the material was half filler; alot of the riffs were from previous songs recycled. He didnt let the album down, the whole band did because they were rushed to high hell.
Lucky enough to see the Maiden , Saxon , Fastway show he talked about...R.I.P. 🎸🍻🤘
Motorhead was never the same when Eddie left. He left 2 day's after my birth.
R.I.P EDDIE YOU WAS THE BEST.
im dying to ask him if they were always on speed when making riffs. how important was speed for their music. did they ever other drugs. did they drink before a gig. honestly....he was the coolest guy in the band
I could listen to Fast Eddie's stories and guitar explanations all night. Hey Eddie make some more dvds man! Ace of Spades dvd is a classic as much as the album itself, buy it!
Of course Love Lem Filthy Phil Mik etc too.
If motorhead had to diverge musically, well hey, we got Fastway out of it.
Legends who always stayed humble and real. Metal till the end ♥🤘🏻
Brilliant interview
The truth behind the split.
steveclem I could sense a bit of resentment from Lemmy in his book about Eddie and interviews maybe he didn't realise how much Eddie contribute to the band he was the best musician of the original lineup and lemmy stated they phil Campbell was better and even Micky Dee got more credit for his drumming than Phil Taylor Eddie had alot of influence in the prime of motorhead and as three piece they could play
Fast Eddie was very good, I like him very much for his blues feeling .... but the first and the foundation stone is LARRY WALLIS. Truly one of the best rock'n'roller in England but also great looser... will recommend to everyone MOTORHEAD fans listen to least "First Gig Ever" 20.7.1975 at Roundhouse London...For me GREATEST STONE OF MOTORHEAD.
The "holy trinity", Ed, Phil n lem, R. I. P, you made me what I am today....
RIP FAST EDDIE !!!!
ILL NEVER FORGET OPENING NIGHT ACE OF SPADES TOUR
EDDIE [PISSED AS A NEWT MISSING THE LYRIC TO FIRE FIRE LMAO HE ONLY HAD 2 WORDS N THEY WERE BOTH THE SAME .BRILLIANT BLOKE
