@@jacestephenweatherall1732 Wurzel was god of guitar i love him too but number one is Eddie, Eddie opened my mind for guitar plays and his licks made my life more happy :D
I was walking in a park in twickenham today and came across a bench reading 'dedicated to my husband' fast Eddie clarke' I couldn't believe it! I thought is that thee fast Eddie! So I Googled it and he was indeed from twickenham! (I'm not a local). I sat down and blasted some ace of spades in his honour! ! I hope you're rocking away up there mate! With your old pal lemmy! 🤘
After watching this video you really come to appreciate the professionalism of a band like Motorhead. After they are long gone the band will still be heard by new generations of rockers. Motorhead forever.
Well, Eddie was young back in the 80's. and as we all know rock 'n roll artists live a very fast and crazy life, especially when they're young. So yeah, probably Eddie didn't act very professional back then, but I'm sure he is not the same person now. Any how when I wrote "professional", I was referring to the effort and time they invest to become exceptional musicians.
You lucky dog. I bet it was fun and interesting to have met the classic Motorhead band in person. They were awesome with Eddie and Phil. I was very lucky to see Motorhead perform live in Los Angeles back in the early 80's
Sad day as Fast Eddie has gone.one of the best guitar players and one of life's good guys.classic Motörhead were part of my teen years growing up,always remember seeing them at the Lyceum on the overkill tour and at Hammersmith odeon on the bomber tour, seriously loud.3 guys who knew how to enjoy themselves and make a lot of people happy and deaf at the same time.may all 3 rest in peace.
Saw them a couple of times, Hammersmith and Crawley leisure centre, not sure of the year but I was still at school. I was going to say the same as you Dave Stickley, they were the loudest band I have ever seen, bloody brilliant.
I always liked Eddie also-not only for his guitar playing but also because he's one helluva good story teller during these interviews. He also seemed like a genuinely nice man. Not everyone would offer to pay thieves that stole a prized guitar-seemed just his way of smoothing things over and not ruining anyone's life. His stories about the early days with Phil and Lemmy are amazing and always with humor. (Even though Phil claimed Eddie was like Hitler as a foreman....probably just his being a perfectionist.)
HAHAAAAH - I remember a nice joke here: Lemmy comes to Valhalla and meets Odin. Odin shows the whole place to him and finally, they end up in his armoury - and Odin wonders, why Lemmy shakes his head all the time. "What's up with you?" Odin says "Let's go to my place", Lemmy says, "I'll show you what an armoury has got to looks like!"
I'm not into Motorhead in a big way but Fast Eddie Clarke's guitar riff from "Bomber" made me take up and learn the electric guitar back in the late seventies - I'd never heard a riff so good that fitted a song so perfectly. Fast Eddie Clarke: A true working and gigging guitarist who eventually hit the big time.
Fast Eddie was never replaced.............I booked tickets for Motorhead many times and made sure I was on the side of Mr Clarke. I just grateful I seen the best Motorhead line up of all time on a few occasions. Nicki Dee and Campbell never came close, yeah Lemmy vouched for them so much but it was never the same.
Definitely. You can tell he built everything around a blues influence and it gave the classic lineup of Motorhead their sound that IMHO was them sounding at their best. Too bad we never got to see the original 3 play together on a tour one last time. Eddie had no wish to leave Motorhead-it was his dislike of collaborating with Wendy O'Williams that clashed with Phil and Lemmy. (Always the poontang causing problems...it was according to Phil the reason Lemmy fired him as he claimed to have stolen one of Lemmy's ladies.)
He seemed a lovely boke - massive influence on me musically - he always answered my facebook messages. Him and Lemmy - influenced my playing immensely on both bass and guitar!
Fast Eddie is the reason the entire reason I started playing strats all those years ago my Grandma bought me a Korean Squier Strat used first thing I done was take it apart sand it down to wood linseed oil it and put a HB in the in the for Christmas that year she Bought me a 50 watt 1× 12 Marshall valve state and I still play them to this!!P.S GRANDMA thank you. R.I.P. Fast Eddie.
They Set One Great Standard Of All The History I Will Never Forget 81 San Francisco Old Waldorf To San Jose Civic Auditorium Were My First Two Shows Seeing Them Loud Is Beyond Anyone I Ever Saw felt Like A Steamroller Hit You Great Great Memories
Not pretty tight since you have not played it together for 20 years Lemmy, but rather absolutely bloody fantastic! This is the musical definition of Motorhead!!! This is the sound everybody craved. This is the sound that got me and kept me with Motorhead. This is the sound I loved. Why did you lose Fast Eddie? 😢
I remember seeing/ reading somewhere where Fast Eddie didn't consider himself a virtuoso - however his playing, riffs and leads in particular are deceptive - they sound fairly straightforward initially - but are more complex than you'd first think. His tone ,style and understated swagger coupled with Lemmy's narly vocal delivery and philthy's drumming was something quiet special.
Philthy- we miss you brotha'!..... ........Simple as that. Thumbs up, and remember this man!!.. Ahhh, the times in the car listening to his drumming.....
God damn i miss ya Eddie.. You we're one of my Main inspiration to pick up the guitar 2 years ago, still play your tunes and licks. Hope to see you someday! 🤘🤘
His leads on "Overkill" and "Stone dead forever"( especially the Golden years EP) are ICONIC and truelly in the same league as the riffs itself !!! All hail to Fast Eddie Clarke, six string GOD forever!!!
+Dana Jacobson He really was. I was lucky enough to interview him around 1988 for college radio. I interviewed a ton of musicians for a ton of bands, and out of all of them he was hands down the friendly and most patient one. not at all like his stage name. RIP Phil.
+Abdul AlpLimIndFox Yep, neither an animal (except on the drums), nor Philthy, just a really cool guy happy to spend 30 minutes answering questions and shooting the breeze.
RIP Fast Eddie. One of the most underrated guitarists in rock and roll history.
RIP Fast Eddie Clarke.
The number one guitarist in my book, learned everything I know from him.

Sounds so aggressive, yet he played so elegantly. Three lightnings for perfect thunderstorm✌ Victory or die!
Eddie was truly one of the greatest guitar players of all time, it’s a real shame that he is never put on the lists of the greatest players

And what about Philthy? He was the engine!!!
Dude hell yeah I know all three of them were looking down on you and throwing up the devil's horns rock on mate
No shit! Brilliant, what a guitarist and what a band.
This was THE Motorhead sound.....Original, and best, line up.
Indeed. It wasn't the same with new members. Something was missing. Fast Eddie first and Filthy Animal second. It wasn't the same monster after that.
True. The OG members were Motorhead. The rest played Motorhead songs quite well. That single guitar has its own sound.
Amen

Generations wont have time for entertainment. Some crust , eddie is anything but fast dust
***** that is so cool to know that Lemmy plays from the "hip".
Fast Eddie's guitar sound was vital for Motorhead. After he left the band has never been the same. I'm not saying they sounded bad, just different.
@lane_departure technology? What changed in 40 years of Motorhead´s history?
Motorhead died when Eddie left.
Agreed
Motorhead nevera usted tecnology, they Was always the same
He was the best but robbo was damn good on another perfect day.
When I first heard the Hammer it was like I was reborn anew. I couldn't believe there was still legit rock and roll that was so fresh and violent.
Saw them in 80 or 81 open for ozzy blizzard of Oz, 2nd row center..ears still ringing.....motorhead was looouuuddddd....

This raw and filthy guitar sound...GREAT !!! R.I.P. Eddie.
R.I.P. Fast Eddie Clarke, long live to the greatest Motörhead lineup ever! (Lemmy, Animal Phil and Fast Eddie)
The best line up by far .
RIP, Motorhead is complete again in Valhalla.
Weidocu Senocenetli that is the best tribute ever!
Taylor lives the Icelandic walhalla, lemmy fuck up some dinosaurs and fast eddy playing a love song for Lucy 🐎
HAHAAAAH - I remember a nice joke here:

Watching this, I realized again how stoic Eddie was - no twisting and bending and jumping around, just delivering his soaring sound and talent.

Stone Dead Forever one of my fav songs
With Eddie, there was always a kind of " boogie-woogie" in it, missing after he left.
Listen to 'Goin To Brazil' on '1916', Wurzl & Wizzo......dueling Les Pauls !
By far the best Mhead.
Definitely. You can tell he built everything around a blues influence and it gave the classic lineup of Motorhead their sound that IMHO was them sounding at their best. Fucki'n lucky bastard! My favourite guitarist of all time...
They never sounded better then with the original line up! Everything fits together perfectly.
Well, the original line up had neither Eddie nor Phil in it.
Pure Dynamics, yet one of the hardest sounds ever: All Sadly missed but Never Forgotten!
The sound! Without Eddie, there was never Motorhead... Lemmy, Eddie, Phil.. That's it... RIP Eddie, gone way too soon..
This guy was a great player, awesome story teller, one hell of a ride
R.I.P. Eddie! Thanks for Wonderful guitar playing!

Me too. Where did you see these characters then? I saw 'em at the Old Waldorf in San Francisco....40 years ago this month. An awesome show.
RIP Fast Eddie! Your guitar playing is often imitated, but never duplicated
