James hetfield had a similar witty sense of humor. In an early interview when Dave was still with them the interviewer asked "how long have you guys been together" he replied "since we started" lol even back when he was a young 18-19 year old awkward kid he had it within lol

I was fortunate enough to actually drink with the man. I showed up super early to a Motorhead show in 2004/5 and nobody was in the place. So my buddy and I headed to the adjacent bar on the other side of the venue and ordered whiskey's and beers. It was just us and the bartender. Some guy was playing pinball in the dark corner at the end of this long bar. He gets done and walks the long length of the bar and sits down right next to me, bullet belt, Iron Cross, leather jacket, boots and all. I always wore a .308 belt with tips (and sometimes 8mm shells with tips with M60 links) and leather jacket because of him and the Thrash scene. I didn't ask for a photo or autograph, just talked and drank with the man. I'll never forget that. RIP Lemmy.

One summer night i was sitting on the northwest corner of Bleecker and MacDougall when I spotted Lemmy standing on the south east corner facing east but obviously lost. I quickly want over and asked him where he was looking for. He said he was headed to a bar on St Marks Place, i walked with him and we chatted about music. I told him Dead Kennedys and Crass and Conflict were my thing but i always liked Motorhead etcetc. He asked me to go for a drink or ten but i decIined as i was in early recovery !!! I had a big wad of $20 bills and asked him to sign one for me, he said keep your money and he took a dollar from his pocket and signed it for me.. Decent fella and very iconic rocker ... RIP

Watching this makes me so glad that Motorhead penned the soundtrack to my adolescence. But more importantly - there's the message of true individualism running through Lemmy's conversation. Not enough people are secure enough in their own convictions to say things like he did. RIP Lemmy.

Too bad many people over-look this in musicians. The gentleman. Beautiful turn of phrase and pure soul. Even though his music wasn't at the fore of my rotation, I admire the man. My regret is not meeting him since I lived not far.
Also think about that. Of all the celebrity out there, I can safely say I could meet this legend if he were still alive because he was a real person.
If I'm lucky I'll end up saying the same or some other on all the vids referencing Lemmy eventually. They're so many after all.
Cheers this man. Let us see this and let his spirit ring for many many years.

I spent a whole evening with Lemmy. He was playing the fruit machine in the basement of the Embassy Club where me and my two friends had gate crashed a very famous musical composer's (no names) launch party. Lemmy was dressed in his normal tight jeans and cowboy boots, black tea shirt and bullet belt. I boldly went straight over to Lemmy and asked if he was part of the party and he answered in his his Northern Drawl "I don't know any of these f*****g w*****s I'm just here to play the fruit machine. We chatted for ages as he pumped the machine full of 10 pence pieces. He was the nicest, humblest bloke you could wish to meet. After what seemed like a couple of hours of chatting I said I had to get back to my friends and it was nice meeting him. He said the same. After about another hour, leather jacket hauled over his shoulder, he had the decency to come over and say goodbye stating that he had put £200 into the machine and that was his limit. A true legend!! Dave Colli
